Saw this reported by the Echo, didn't think much of it at the time,Mind you they didn't quite report it in the same detail.

JORDAN Robertson is likely to be sidelined for tomorrow’s match with Reading after being involved in a car crash on Christmas day.

The on loan striker was in a car on the M1 when the incident occurred.

Though he is understood to have just suffered some bruising the incident has understandably left him shaken up and Poortvliet had to reshuffle his team in the wake of the news and an ankle injury sustained by Adam Lallana in Christmas day training.

His loan agreement ended on the 13th December?

Why was this on the OS just before the Reading game?

"On-loan striker Jordan Robertson is unlikely to be available following his involvement in a minor car accident over Christmas".

Hardly a minor accident either.

Yet more economies of truth on the OS? Either his contract ended on 13th or it didn't....and thus he was either available for selection or back at Sheff Utd.

What's wrong with telling us the truth once in a while?

(p.s. the Daily Mail article also suggests that Dyer is back when it says that Robertson is back at Sheff Utd and that the 'player swap deal' with Saints terminated)

We got him on loan for three months in September with Nathan Dyer going in the opposite direction, I don't know what date it was but surely if Robertson has gone back then Dyer will be back with us, if that's the case where was Dyer on Sunday? As you say perhaps the OS can give us the true state of affairs but lets not hold our breathe.

Scumbag. hope he gets what he deserves.

Oh dear, kangaroo court. Trial by newspaper? What happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Let's wait for the facts before we judge him eh....

One fact is for sure though, he's played his last game in a saints shirt. Wonder what will come of our little thief now his loan is up.

Lowe does seem to have influences/friends with the Mail. Every now and again the Mail will print a pro Lowe story.

I actually sent Charles Sale an e-mail asking him for his thoughts on the current Board, him having continuosly called the previous one "lame-duck" and all that, and guess what! He hasn`t replied!!:shock::shock:

Charlie Sale helping influence the Mail article with some Lowe-biased spin ????

Flipping hades. Can't you let anything pass without seeing it as an opportunity for a dig at Lowe? This is a genuine tradegy for Mr Mohamed's family and yet you're obsession turns it into a way of scoring points in your petty little one sided war of words with Lowe.

My deepest sympathy goes to those touched by these events. My deepest contempt goes to those who would subvert them for their own agenda.

Awful situation for the family of the man who lost his life and pretty terrible for Jordan Robertson as well . Honest drivers on here might care to remember some of the stupid things we all did when we were young and reflect 'there but for the grace of God go I' .

Exactly. Not drinking just doing something he thought he could do while driving. We've all been there and been lucky - the radio, the kids, etc.

Thoughts and prayers with the victim's family. The young lad should get what he deserves - and that's what a court determines.

although it is sad....why cant this be related to football...i very much doubt the family of the victim will be reading this...so, we can be sensitive but also talk about football too...this is a football site..we are not going t offend anyone by relating the issue to football..

(I fully expect to be slated for this)

not saying he wasn't totally out if order but it is normal in fatal car crash for the other party to be arrested for full investigation into the possibility of them having caused the death by dangerous driving.

It may not be the case.

The poor dead guy could even be at fault, wont someone think of the children?

Talk about football fine. That means talking about how we're now stripped of another option up front and we need to haw about for a new striker loan deal (probably). That's a million miles from trying to turn a tradegy into ammunition in a war against Lowe.

yes, anything that makes your attention suffer can be dangerous or careless driving.

This will also include turning round to shout at the kids, changing radio, looking down to pick up can of drink etc - just using examples I can personally remember doing recently.

Can be mate, if you decide to plough into a family or something stupid, hence why modern cars have the controls on steering wheel.

We all do things we shouldn't when driving and fortunately 99.5% of the time there are no repercussions. Fiddling with an ipod is not different to fiddling with a moble phone though and the outcome was tragic, not just a "minor" occurance. It was a bit like the crash that Channon was involved in and was reported as "minor".

How can any RTA be classed as minor when someone losses their life?

is it me or am I the only one who thinks that it was reported as minor at the time due to not knowing the full scale and the story was put out.....maybe the true extent of everything was not revealed by the police etc...

No it must be a deliberate cover up by that nasty man Mr Lowe.

My thoughts go to all those involved, including Jordan. Having a death on your conscience is not something he will ever forget.

As someone rightly said above, there but for the grace of God.

Not just you - the man didn't die until the following day, and he had been conscious, so there may have been no reason to assume his injuries were more serious than whiplash.

It's a tragedy for everyone. We all do things that divert our attention from the road, drive when we're tired, angry etc.

Also, in fariness to the OS, I suspect that story was published fairly early on boxing day.

Mr Mohammed died on boxing day so, whilst "minor" is an unfortunate phrase to have used, I imagine the facts at the club's disposal were pretty shady at that time.

They probably only had a call from Robertson saying he had a crash but wasn't hurt badly - it's not as though the poilice would have gone, "blimey, that's Jordan Robertson, he plays for Saints, we'd better give them a precis".

EDIT - I see Soccermom has said virtually the same thing above!
