I wouldn't be happy with just a change of manager, especially if Lowe picks him. Board must go, and not be lurking in the background looking to take control again. dubai_phil Posted 22 January, 2009 Share Posted 22 January, 2009 Ah ha, so to analyse this thread we can now make the following PR Statement. Lowe claims success in the battle to re-unite the split fanbase at Southampton. By staff reporter in the first part of his battle to turn around the struggling South Coast club, Lowe has achieved what many thought was impossible in re-uniting all the fans and removing the era of hostility and contempt from the fans Internet forums. Lowe states that his Master plan of Total Football has now brought the fractured club back together after years of boardroom squabbles and divisions. "It is quite clear that the fans have been turned around and are now p*ssing in the same bucket. While we still have a few hygene issues and training on what is allowed to be placed into the bucket to address, there is no doubt that this is a major achievement for our Total Football programme. Another bonus is obviously that the award winning catering at SMS has allowed us to acquire much higher quality content in our bucket than that of our competitors. Fellow Director Wilde added, I think this is a clear message to our stakeholders that rumours that this great club did not have a pot to p*ss in have been hugely exagerated. We now look forward to moving into contention for the playoffs which is where this brand of Total Football deserves to be. The players were not available for comment as it was already past their bedtime. Genuinely think that the messageboard has never been so overwhelmingly supportive of the removal of a manager and the chairman and the need for change. I think whatever Lowe's planning in order to hold on to power he's in for a real shock. Opinion has never, in the years I have been posting on here and the predecessor forums, been so united and forthright. Its nice to see.

Alain Perrin Posted 22 January, 2009 Share Posted 22 January, 2009 Not wishing to swim against the current but I still want to avoid admin first, whether that's with or without Lowe/JP doesn't matter to me. I like the JP idea, and would have loved it have worked (I'm not sure everyone can say that). However, no-one can dispute we certainly have played some entertaining football this year, with young enthusiastic players - unfortunately a lot of naivity and some total gash results/performances too mind you. FWIW I don't think we're united, the fights in the Stadium seem to prove we're not. I am sure the Anyone But Lowe camp have a few more tents in their field after a miserable defeat against Doncaster, but equally I think a lot of pro-Lowe / ambivilants have just given up trying to argue against what are undoubtedly the majority (and from this boards membership an intransigent majority). That doesn't mean they agree, it just means they've quit arguing with the little boy over whether he can play with matches, just let him burn the house down if he wants too (frankly it's on fire anyway). If that's too many analogies for you then you can.... stick that in yer pipe and smoke it.

alpine_saint Posted 23 January, 2009 Share Posted 23 January, 2009 I think we are a lot more untied than at any time this season, but think we were more untied just before going into the Blades game at the end of last season. Before that, probably the last time we were so united was the utterly misplaced optimism about a quick return to the PL at the beginning of the 2005/2006 season. I'm happy to admit I'm in a minority. I hold no particular affection for Lowe but think he is simply doing what has to be done unless somebody with millions of pounds to throw away comes along. You could change the man at the top but they'd still have to live within a budget. So you carry on p***ing in your bucket and I'm sure it will be overflowing soon.
