Although not the brightest, as he has to have his own name on his shirt, in case he forgets.

Or maybe it was an invitation about what he wanted people to do at him?

Classic deflection from the man with his name on his shirt whilst wearing his mittens connected through his coat with string ;)

Good to see Sadiq Khan was one of 300 mayors to travelled to Rio to discuss climate change. Presume they all travelled by hot air balloon

It's that sort of shit which blows my mind, if they were really caring about this issue they'd have done this remotely on a remote summit - which can happen. But no, they all wanted a big jolly to Rio staying in what I'd assume are plush 5* hotels and given free meals.

They can't preach about it and then do everything they say is causing it. The whole world is backwards.

Stop the world, I want to get off.

I applaud this fantastic work by one of our leading lights.

I expect climate change will be resolved within 12 months because of this wonderful, forward thinking event.

No shortage of hot air there either. Should really be harnessed asca renewable energy source.

Totally agree, things like this just highlight how utterly useless we are at solving these sort of problems. All politicians care about essentially is getting re-elected, it’s just a case of having to look like they give a shit.

it doesn’t change the science and our need to combat climate change one bit though.

No idea why.  The mayors already solved global climate warming change the other day.  Nothing to do now so they must just be there for a jolly.

The electric car per-mile tax is imminent.....

Like diesels in the 10s that it all a big scam. Diesels were the way to go, better economy, better for the environment, once people were on board they started whacking the taxes up, now they’ve done exactly the same with electric cars

Its mad how much is being spent on green energy etc here in the UK, don't we contribute something silly like 1% of the worlds emissions?

And we have 1% of the world's population.

Green energy will be cheaper.

A tip. When you hear Trump calling something a hoax or a con, you immediately know that it isn’t.

I guess not even Trump can claim climate change isn't real now!  The last time it rained for 40 days and 40 nights we had to build an Ark.  This time round, nothing.

Or maybe we just have better drainage?

And that was sent by god. Maybe he’s doing the same here to tell us about Starmer?

Nice and sunny where I am. It is supposed to be global warming.

Sweepstake.  When will you see your first public information warning about staying hydrated / cool during the upcoming heatwave?

Tuesday. Which will be relief as I'll probably be a bit thirsty by then.

I am staying in a darkened room for the forseeable future having dreamed that Saints have been denied the opportunity to contest the Championship Play Off after one of their Green Party associates had been spotted exploring the Flora & Fauna on Teeside.

Extreme weather incoming!!

Is it safe to go out? Should I wear a hat? Anyone know if I should carry a bottle of water with me?

what are you supposed to do in this weather if you need to go to the shops, can't drive as that kills the earth, but you need to eat a scotch egg on the way back?

Where is the guidance? Why aren’t the government telling us this?

They are almost suggesting that a heatwave over a BH weekend is a bad thing. Was in Paris last week at 13 degrees which was taking the piss levels for spring.

Remember @sadoldgit told us of the dangers of a Parisian heatwave, when he had to walk between the fallen on the streets.

I'm delighted they didn't have to face that kind of terror last week, and can only hope it continues for them.

Thank [insert deity of your choice, or none which is fine too]!

I'm a little worried about the use of fans killing the planet and the cost in an energy crisis. But happy to show my insurers the "windows open" guidance when we get robbed.

Also, how much water? Am I limited to apples and bananas? What's in that approved sandwich with the weird lumps coming out of it?

It says to limit your use of ovens but also use a fan. I’ve got a fan oven, what am I meant to do? It isn’t clear

We read that as only sticking our heads in the oven for a short time, or until we lose consciousness and have to be dragged out.
