I've just been researching where to watch the game in Torino, as that's where I'll be and my Italian friend hasn't a clue. Anybody got Che's number?

I was hoping for an early night but just coming down now...

I caught the end - another bloody awful penalty, but they've obviously been practising following up the rebound saves as there were at least 2 who could've scored - so fair play, I like that solution.

I think if Toone had scored it would have been retaken. She was within the D on the edge of the box as Kelly struck the initial pen.

My daughter just left there the other day to travel to Geneva for the match tonight. Loved Turin. Not sure she was in any sports bars though! Bound to be an Irish pub or two, there always is!

Possibly… though I thought it she timed it just about right. Who knows with VAR though!

Been practicing but still a shocker 😂

I’m away in a different continent so couldn’t watch it but saw the highlights on phone.

Chloe Kelly is massive game changer brilliant in quarters and final same As the big black bird who Comes off the bench made a difference twice now. One of them if you start them will then be as effective? Quite probably not

Thought they won that in spite of the manager - too slow to react, engine room of the side is all wrong. Italy were there for the taking the last 25-30 of regular time, they were nearly on top of their own keeper but the manager should have changed it a lot earlier.

Ditto the Sweden game. Will she learn in the final?

Sure Agyemang could have come on earlier, as could Kelly. Yes, the midfield is not at it's best.

However, Wiegman has put out a very balanced side. She does use a load of different options during the game. All the players know how to adjust. Despite any natural disappointment in not starting, the squad know the approach, and not one of the subs fails to have an impact.

Agyemang is so far a great impact player, but Russo offers much more.

Toone was quiet. For me, she along with Carter were the Euro 22 players, I thought would not start by now. But Toone links up well when it's Russo and Mead on. She was first to that late pen, apart from the taker.

Carter came on late. Italy offered a different challenge, and Carter is trusted to fill in anywhere across the back, and helps cover for Bronze being forward.

Kelly is excellent, as is Mead. But Hemp is rightfully the starter on one flank. Having two wider players messes with that balance, although both can and do cut in. James is versatile and a match winner, and is just ahead of Mead.

You can see changes each game, based on things they work on. For an international side, with limited time together, there's a really strong club togetherness from the squad.

As for the Lionnesses they've done really well to make the final, hope they go on and win it , I think Spain look strongest team though

Isn't Chloe Kelly a 'striker'?

Surely the third or fourth striker's name on a team sheet would be the first or second sub?  Possibly second or third sub if only one up front!

Not the ringing endorsement 'Bernice' was looking for I suspect.

Ridiculous. She can't even get in the women's X1 although I think she should be one of the first picks when compared to some of the dross.

Hemp was hopeless last night. Lost the ball practically every time she took on an opponent, misplaced headers and passes all game. She looked marginally better when dropping deeper at the end of the game but generally she was very poor and Kelly certainly showed her what she should have been doing when she came on.

I’m not sure we’ll be in a position to snatch a late win if it’s Spain in the final, but regardless I hope she acts more quickly with the subs if we’re behind…

I wonder if she saw how many posts/replies somebody got when they said James was better than any male footballer

The Spain v England friendly had really open spells, where both sides had excellent passing moves. England used to be good at this, but other sides have adjusted, not least in stopping Walsh getting time on the ball. Spain are just better at that part, and have plenty of players as capable as Walsh, making it harder to shut that down.

I expect England to pretty much set up the way they always do. A bit more pressure, getting more bodies in the box, as well as accuracy in deliveries could put any opponent on the back foot.

I agree it would be nice to not leave it so late this time. 🙂

Just thinking that defensively, Sweden's opener was from a defensive error, while they also had chances to clear Italy's chance, and they didn't create much more. So, fine margins would allow England a bit more room in the game, and not have to keep breaking teams down for an equaliser.

Frustrated that the subs were so late. The Angemang would be a better bet for Arseanal mens up front lol 😀

Mead came on and was useless (ok she won the penalty) also Beever Jones.

Thought Kelly actually can cross and hit the ball with power wheras the corners from the other side kept going straight to the keeper. Angemang was also useful and potential.

Hemp's output hasn't been to her usual standard. With only Russo to aim for, I thought that applied to some of the others as well. England struggled to create much. But they moved through Wiegman's gameplay  until something worked.

You could make an argument for the starters to be Kelly on the left, with Russo up front, James supporting and Mead out right, overlapped by Bronze.

But despite the strength there, Hemp and Toone bring other things to the team too.
