And yet I’ve subsequently seen a report on the BBC that the drop was in part due to measures put in place by the Tory government. Do you really think Sunak wouldn’t have wanted to be able to claim that he ‘stopped the boats’?

Everyone was calling out for quicker processing of applications as a deterrent. What did the Tories do? Sack half of the people processing the applications so that the times reached their longest. No surprise that the BBC with their blue mandate are trying to make out this was to do with the Tory measures. 1

He could have if he wanted to, yet he called an early general election just before his Rwanda plan was due to start. It’s almost like he knew it was just a headline grabbing stunt that wouldn’t work. 1

They ought to run out to Victims by Culture Club. Ex Saint JJ Morgan just equalised for WBA there. Mind you, he was a bit of a scally himself IIRC?

I have to say @Farmer Saint, you are clearly the most informed person on how internal government systems, along with public service broadcasters work. Your valuable insights into the innermost workings and thought processes of different governments and journalists are invaluable on this message board! Keep fighting the good fight as a truth teller to all the uninformed masses! 2

Even Reform have disowned them, not the sharpest objects in the shed. Disrupted people’s journeys when the boats are at their lowest level for several years. And scared the locals wearing balaclavas.

He wasn't even listening - especially when he responded with glee about the prospect of more grubby money, he wasn't even listening to himself! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0qxgn7q1vdo Quote Nigel Farage has said he "frankly wasn't listening" during a conversation with his former chief of staff and an undercover reporter discussing what appears to have been a scheme to funnel foreign money to Reform UK. 1
