RB Leipzigs offer of 16.5 million Euro (£14.05 million) has been rejected. Would be one heck of a turnaround in Profit. They only exercised the €2.5million "option to buy" 5 months ago. Their record sale is apparently only 2.7m euros.
ErwinK1961 Posted 24 June, 2025 Posted 24 June, 2025 If only we had a surplus to requirement striker, that’s drawing interest from Turkey, that we could sell to Goztepe now they’ll have some cash… 1
Dusic Posted 24 June, 2025 Posted 24 June, 2025 Good SR scouting to sign him for Goztepe on loan with an option in the first place and then make a big profit. Definitely some value to be had in South America so good we are starting to utilise it with Alcaraz, Juan, Welington etc. Low risk and potentially high reward. 2

Göztepe Posted 24 June, 2025 Posted 24 June, 2025 We are interested in transferring Ibrahim Sabra from the Jordanian league, and Jules Ahoka, a 19-year-old player who is 1.90 meters tall and has not played for a professional team. Dennis was offered 3.25 million euros but was rejected. Although the Turkish league is not a major league, the leagues we get our players from are the worst leagues in the world but they are generally successful. 2
Nolan Posted 30 June, 2025 Posted 30 June, 2025 Sabra is now done. If transfermarkt is correct, he played for 4 separate age groups for Jordan in 2024 U19s U20s U23 and full team.

Nolan Posted 16 August, 2025 Posted 16 August, 2025 Göztepe frustrate Mourinho at home again. Played 24 minutes of the second half with 10 men after Juan got sent off for two yellows, but fenerbache got a man sent off for two yellows themselves on 85. 2

There are weak teams outside of 5-6 teams, but Göztepe is the team that has spent the least money in the league, selling 26 million euros worth of players this season. A goal from Romulo, who left the Süper Lig. 2

The striker who left for Leipzig was replaced by a player from the Ghanaian second division. Solet, who was expected to earn a double-digit transfer fee to the top four leagues had he not been injured, was replaced by a 27-year-old player from the Brazilian second division. While the team already had three right-wing backs, one of the 14 foreign quotas was filled by a 30-year-old, 1.74m tall player from the Brazilian second division. At the beginning of the season, a European competition was promised.
Tommy Mulgrew Posted 19 September, 2025 Author Posted 19 September, 2025 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/c9wd80n1v5zt 3:0 to Goztepe. Juan scores the first (pun intended). Just over 30% possession and less than 60% pass accuracy - almost the complete opposite of us under Martin. 2nd in the table but played one game more than most teams. A fine achievement considering Goztepe’s relative lack of spend on players and salaries. Well done. I wish we were Goztepe! 😉

Tommy Mulgrew Posted 22 September, 2025 Author Posted 22 September, 2025 Goztepe buys 19 year-old Ibrahim Sabra for £150,000 and a year later sells him to you-know-who for £6million. Another SR project for the Championship … or perhaps EFLeague 1. 🤩
Tommy Mulgrew Posted 5 October, 2025 Author Posted 5 October, 2025 Juan scores again for Goztepe, who, with only 28% possession, win 1:0 to go third in the table, up there with Galatasary, Trabzonspor and Fenerbache. Only two goals conceded in eight games. Why cannot we learn something from our sister club?
