They aren’t, but it doesn’t exactly challenge the wider and common perception that politicians of all stripes are in for themselves and have multiple homes and opaque financial and lifestyle arrangements which don’t fit with the rules the rest of us have to live by. Last time I looked at a map, we were part of Europe. As are Switzerland, Norway, Albania, & Iceland. Are those nationals not allowed French or German birds? is it strange when Norwegian’s marry Danish chicks? Are SNP supporters not supposed to pull English birds?
