No no no, he cried in front of the cameras, that's what really matters and we should all just lay off him because he's such a super dooper guy who bleeds red and white you know, he's feeling it just as much as we do and is just so determined to put it right like he would if he was in a trench in WW1 which is exactly the same as getting paid £40k a week to kick a football around

In partial defence of Jack, he's been in an environment where this response to adversity has become normalised. That doesn't mean he can't learn new responses in a better environment.

I'd argue that, as captain for most of that time, it was very much his responsibility to stop that from happening, which he utterly failed to do. He was meant to be a leader but has shown no proper leadership at all. He's a perfect symbol of the massive decline in standards in all areas of the club under SR, a massive part of the problem, and needs to go along with Manning, Downes, THB and all the other arrogant, entitled, failures who have been stinking the place out for way too long. Sick of the lot of them.

Do think its a bit mad that the club hasn't used this window to address the manager position... If Eckert really is the best they can attract then we're really in the mire...

Don't get me wrong I would want my captain to speak up. I also think that Jack's new contract was a clear signal of Still and Spors unsuitability.

However, I've also seen that people can change behaviour as a culture changes. Only a small number of people are capable of driving a culture change. Some will actively oppose it it but the majority will happily adapt if they are shown there's a better way. To often extraordinary outcomes.

I don't see Jack turning into a different footballer but I do see him as a player that could be valuable for the squad.

I think the time to show his value to the squad as come and gone. He's been at the club for 14/15 years, and some of our worst times have been under his 'leadership'.

If we're honest, he's only the captain because he's been here the longest, and maybe because he pumps and waves his arms more than the rest of the meek lot we have. It's certainly not for bollocking players when needed, or marshalling the back line, as a center half captain should.

Or, apparently, setting a leadership example in the dressing room which is quite clearly a mess.

At best he's not helping sort it, and at worst he's an active part of it. The opposite of what a captain should be doing.

Yeah, we need all the ball watchers we can pack into our penalty area.

This thread is basically redundant. No manager with any sense would take on this squad as it is today.  Maybe, if and when Charles and Stewart get fit,  things will look marginally better.

Even though he often plays 3-4-2-1, if I were SR I would still be looking at someone like Challinor - he's an "unproven mananger", and he's got a smaller reputation - it feels like the sort of stature we tend to go for (rather than big or established names).

They got a 1-0 win over Huddersfield today, meaning Stockport leapfrog them up to 4th and only 6points off the autos... (I.e., he's once again on course to maintain his incredible record of at least finishing in playoff spaces as a manager (the bare minimum for saints)... And regardless, I would argue it's basically impossible for him to do worse than the likes of Still, Eckert, Selles, Jones, Juric at saints 🥴, or indeed any other mananger sports republic might pick. It's truly mental how much money we've spent on players and hiring/sacking shit managers that have basically achieved sod all between them and often don't even know the English game - most important job in the club is getting in a tactically good manager 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️.

He was getting linked to the Sunderland job the year they went up, it really is only a matter of time before he moves to a champ job (and probably to a club above us in the pyramid the way we're going under SR... Or maybe he'll be above us with Stockport in 1 year time).

Just someone who had a stellar playing career and has managerial experience rather than laptop wankers that have never played the game or lower league managers that have no experience beyond league 1.

It’s not fucking rocket science but won’t happen because all SR wants are puppets to control.  Bunch of useless arrogant cunts that they are.

Agree Manny. Today was appalling, again. We need a proper manager (manager not "coach") who is actually in charge.

You don’t need sense to manage Saints - just a hipster qualification of some kind and a desire to get rich quick.

Nah, the shortest day was December 21st so his days as Spurs manager are getting longer.

If that is their plan then that’s one that would get the fans back on their side. This is SR though so probably haven’t even considered it.

He wouldn’t work for us, just like any other self-respecting manager wouldn’t.

Agree and also he obviously knows Ankersen so you'd think he would steer well clear of working for him.

Yeah I can really see Thomas Frank going from working for a Champions League club, his first sacking and picking a club midtable in the Championship who would be on their 5th manager in a year.

It's almost impossible to resist picking fights on here.

Why do you even want to try? That's a really odd thing to say. Why do you want to continuously take the 'high and mighty' stance over people who post things you don't agree with? For one, I agree that Thomas Frank isn't at all realistic - but I don't use that to pick a fight with whoever says it.

You seem to have this huge superiority complex, but I think (and many others) that you are an absolute tool. So you may want to stand down from your stage, as no one is cheering you on.

Are you even a fan of this club? Hugely doubtful I'd say. You're either a rival fan on a troll session, or a club plant taking down anyone with remotely controversial views.

Or perhaps Frank already knows full well what a bullshitting charlatan Rasmus is from their days at Brentford, and would never decide to work for/with him again anyway. Probably more likely.

I was making a flippant comment about a post I'd just responded to in another thread. Maybe I'm either of those things, maybe I'm one of the many people I've been accused of being on here, or maybe I'm a fan of the club who just enjoys laughing at the nonsense on here and responding to it. But oh nooo, some people on an internet forum aren't cheering me on, what purpose do I have now? :D

Closest you've come to getting my identify right to be fair, amongst numerous attempts. Well done for finally getting there.

Looks like my previous comments towards @Fabrice29 was deleted by the mods.

Again, it was a fair question.
I’m all for open debate but every response that Fabrice provides is done to incite disagreement and anger.

There is way more to life than getting hung up over one persons “decision making”.

Haha that is daft, I had no issue with it. Silly mods.

In all honesty and with no malice, I don’t mind the disagreement and discussion, I have varying views about a lot of things.

But as soon as it is clear that it’s done with the intention to piss off and get a reaction - that’s where I lose interest in that person and their opinions.

Unfortunately, you’re nearly at the point of no return with that. Just have a think before you post mate.

The post you responded to was literally me responding to someone else asking me to check in on Romeu in a month and trying to have a dig at me and my "hyperbole" and "wisdom". I'll have a think about it and rightfully respond to it again if needed. Just as everyone has a right to call me a cock or whatever.

The fact we’ve ‘progressed’ from a stable PL club to a Championship club on the verge of a relegation battle tends to point to the fact that there’s not actually been much nonsense on here at all.

In fact, more often than not, this forum gets it spot on with the exception of, well, you. You’re rivalling MLG for Mr Wrong status to be honest.

Yeah you've come to this "fight" twenty minutes late fella. You're welcome to come and call me a prick in person if you like. You know who I am obviously.

Umm, this would be insightful if it wasn't in response to a conversation that started because of (a now deleted post) me being right about Romeu.
