Draw this evening after West Ham vs Leeds 

Saints are ball number 1. 

As usual trains are a mess, looks like engineering works in Basingstoke- Woking area, diversion from Southampton via Havant, frustrating. 

Last season semi final allocations for each team were 36,230 , should be plenty to go around.

Excuse the tangential thought but is  there a scenario where we wouldn't be able to wear the yellow commemorative kit for the semi final, in terms of a colour clash? Maybe Vs Leeds (pale yellow Vs white) or Chelsea (both blue shorts)? Or maybe there's some jobsworth FA rule for Wembley semis / finals that says you have to wear your home kit if you're drawn as the designated home team...? Whilst not the end of the world, would be a bit of a shame if we couldn't wear the yellow kit through to the end of our cup run.

I believe Saints have it registered as our "FA Cup kit" so our first choice kit to wear, if drawn as home side we'd wear it as default, if drawn as away then just depends on opposition. 

No doubt another boom in sales for the Chinese retailers. 

Always seems to happen to Saints, 2017 wore a white shirt in final that was never on sale to fans, we rarely wear red and white stripes at Wembley

There is no scenario where we can't wear a yellow shirt.  The only scenario where we can't wear blue shorts is if we draw Chelsea and they are the home team which surely is a 1 in 6 chance.  In which case we could wear black or white shorts.   In the 2003 semi, we wore a one off kit with our usual r&w stripes but one-off white shorts

Regarding tickets, if we are drawn against City, they won't take their full allocation.  They didnt last season as they are always at Wembley.  In which case, do we get extra tickets ?

Noted 😉 

Am I right in saying our Semi will have to be on the Saturday due to the Ipswich game on the following Tuesday? Although assume nothing with the FA I guess.

Good point... Could they conceivable move the Ipswich match to the Wednesday...?

I doubt it as they wouldnt let Forest have more last year. I was at Man City v Forest semi final last season in corporate, a good 3 or 4000 empty seats in the City end upper tier and that was with any city fan with purchase history being able to buy up to 4 each. 

I think we'll only just sell our allocation anyway, times are hard and prices are ridiculous to be honest.

I believed, although not enough to take advantage of the 9/1. Getting carried away but the spirit coupled with tactical nous means we are unbeatable.

We are. It's nine games in four weeks from April 4th until May 2nd. That'll then be followed by two playoff semis, the Cup final on the 16th and the playoff final on the 23rd.

And THB said yesterday that the players actually prefer playing twice a week, so bodes well...

I think it’s important to remember that the fa cup is just a pointless waste of time because we’ll never win it so we shouldn’t even bother trying, so whoever we get we should just put the reserves out and rest everyone for the Ipswich game a few days later, because that’s what really matters. We could get fifth in the championship, imagine telling your grandchildren about that

Yeah they'll just move it to the Wednesday if we play on the Sunday.

It'll come down to the broadcasters and what they want. BBC prefer Saturday evening for their match so if they show our game then likely it'll be then. TNT get first exclusive pick which they'll almost certainly want on Sunday as it won't clash with anything Sky are showing.

Last time we played in a semi final at Wembley , when fans were allowed to attend with no restrictions due to Covid we didn’t sell out . 
 

let’s try and sell our 36000 1st .

I think they've already confirmed to club Wembley holders that Saturday is 5.30 (might have been 5.15pm can't remember) and Sunday is 4.30pm

Quite a weird quirk that we've never been in our home kit in a final (modern times at least, no idea about 1900s 😂)

Both FA Cup finals yellow.

ZDS final blue.

League cup '79 yellow and 2017 white.

Play off 2024 black.

Planned engineering works on the trains is a lot worse on the Sunday with bus replacement from Woking through to Weybridge. Gonna be fun if that is the chosen day :)

Blimey, with potentially 35,000 fans trying to make it to London that’ll be fun. I wonder if there’s any potential for that being cancelled? (Ha!).

I think I'd rather draw West Ham/Leeds for the semis as we'd have a good chance of progressing. If we're going to beat Chelsea or Man City, that's a game for the final

I don't know about anyone else, but I think we have a fair chance of going all the way. Statistically a team from outside the top league is due a win. Usually a team from outside the top league would win once every 12 years, and it's now been over 40 years.

Just anyone but City. Surely it will be on the Saturday but you never know with the FA. Hoping the allocation is enough; don't have a membership and have only done 3 homes and 1 away this season but will miss the 2 finals.

TBF if we draw City on the Sunday, given the costs, travel disruptions and likelihood of winning, I think a few will be put off going. Everyone who wants one will get a ticket with a proportion buying but with no intention of going. I’m not being negative but City is a different animal to the type of team Arsenal put out last night.

Yea with the prospect of a playoff final and even an fa cup final if we win I think this would be the game people swerve if money is tight.

Probably best if we avoid Leeds as well as remember they bought all our tickets for the play off final as well , dont want that happening again

NR works is usually planned very far in advance, years they claim.  No chance of it being cancelled especially if it's safety critical work.

 

Chiltern seems fine if anyone wants to park at Gerrard's Cross.

Now the elation of last night has calmed down slightly I still think it’s a shame that with Wembley now paid off the semis haven’t returned to a neutral venue.

While I tend to agree and have warm memories of Hillsborough and Villa Park - Hillsborough is a mess and I'd take travel to London over Birmingham or Manchester.
