RedArmy Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Yeah I’d probably play Charles instead of Azaz. He can drop in and help out a lot more if we struggle to control the middle of the pitch like we did yesterday.

I'd keep faith with Azaz and bring Charles in for him if he has a bad 1st half. 5
SNSUN Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Just found out that if we get through to the final, I'm off work that weekend. I never get that lucky, so naturally I am now nervous we won't make it. Please GOD Saints put in a better performance than we did yesterday and on Thursday.

No no no, he's been great at times but he isn't the best tackler and not suited to their high energy style. Proper cheat code later on though. Jander and Downes to start, Bragg as back up with Charles to come on on the 2nd half. Let's face it Boro don't need spies, it's pretty obvious what the team will be. 1

If that is where they're staying, the meeting rooms a generally on the same floor as the resturant. It'd be funny if a few waited and started putting ups up to the meeting room doors when they're in there 😂
Cabrone Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Ross Stewart has to be in for Larin, can't afford any player to have a drop off in form right now. Feeling confident, Boro may have blown themselves\their confidence out and if we play at our best at home we should have enough to get this over the line. Saturday was the same old problem for them, they can't get the ball over the line. Spying stuff? Whatever. All a bit of an overblown distraction. 1
markr27 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Think Azaz will have more impact from the start rather than coming on as a sub, based on previous games! 1

Mathamite Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm hoping for a change in formation for this one as we've become too predictable. Bristol, Ipswich & Boro all stopped us playing out from the back and in particular made it difficult for our 2 wide players to get in the game. Hence we had to play a lot more long balls usually to an isolated central striker. I'd sacrifice one of the wide players either for an extra midfield player, like we did for Coventry away, or else play Archer along side a central striker. Either way we need to get someone much closer to Stewart/Larin so that if we do have to hit long balls we have a chance of winning the ball back further up the field, which will in turn push their press back. In Tonda we trust.

23rdSaint Posted 52 minutes ago Posted 52 minutes ago From the website: As the club prepares for Tuesday night’s Sky Bet Championship play-off semi-final second leg against Middlesbrough at St Mary’s, we would like to remind supporters that entering the pitch or bringing pyrotechnics into the stadium is strictly prohibited. St Mary’s has been at its very best this season, with the support of our fans playing a vital part in the team’s journey to this stage. With emotions understandably running high ahead of a huge night under the lights, we are asking supporters to help protect both the team and the club by remaining in the stands at the final whistle and not using flares, smoke bombs or other pyrotechnics inside or outside the stadium. Following the play-off fixture against West Bromwich Albion in 2024, we were heavily sanctioned by the EFL after supporters entered the pitch and used pyrotechnics both before and during the game. These resources would be better directed towards improving the club's infrastructure and playing squad. The EFL and relevant authorities will have officials in attendance at Tuesday’s match, and the club has a duty to ensure the safety and security of all supporters, players and staff. Possession or use of pyrotechnics, including flares and smoke devices, is a criminal offence and supporters are reminded that pitch incursions are illegal and could result in arrest, prosecution and club bans. Something we don’t want to see any Saints fan have to endure. Whatever the result on Tuesday, the players and staff want to show their appreciation to supporters after the game, but this can only happen if the pitch is clear and safe. Tuesday night promises to be a special atmosphere at St Mary’s. Please make sure it’s remembered for the right reasons by staying off the pitch and not bringing pyrotechnics to the stadium. Bring the noise, roar the players on from the stands and let’s create the atmosphere St Mary’s is famous for. We probably should have thought about "these resources" before we were caught spying, but we should also probably refrain from exacerbating the situation... 1
Jack Posted 47 minutes ago Posted 47 minutes ago Fair enough spiel, but I didn’t hear about any arrests or bans for Boro fans letting off flares before the game on Saturday. Of course the authorities are less likely to ignore anything we do wrong moving forward after this latest drama 1
EssEffCee Posted 38 minutes ago Posted 38 minutes ago Nobody is getting nicked for using a smoke bomb outside the ground. They might if doing it inside though. 3
