Hello everyone.

So, this morning, Dragan spoke out, and it was important for him to do so in order to answer the questions many of us have.

As expected, Tonda retains the confidence of the board and, barring any FA sanctions, will be the Saints' manager next year.

I think that despite the situation, it's a good decision because I also believe Tonda remains the club's best chance of returning to the Premier League next year. He knows the club, had an excellent second half of the season, and even did better than Russell, I think. Keeping him saves time because he understands the squad's needs for next year.

Next year, however, the board will need to implement monitoring tools to prevent this kind of thing from happening again. The integrity of the club is now at stake.

I certainly hope this affair won't have repercussions on Sport Republic's investments in Goztepe and Valenciennes, as they'll need to make up for the financial losses in Southampton.

We must be vigilant, because money is the lifeblood of any club, especially regarding the club's sponsors, who represent a significant source of revenue.

Now, what will the team be like next year? The work begins now...

For the fans, the hardest part will be regaining their trust; it will take time, a lot of time...

Best of luck to everyone.

Your English is superb, Christophe. Those northern scoundrels in Middlesbrough could take note!

I admit I'm bending the rules a bit with the translator, but I put a lot of heart into my answers. 😅

As for Boro, he should focus on building a team next year instead of constantly spewing hatred at our team.

COYS !!

Anyone wanting to make a list of the scumbags coming out of the woodwork for holier-than-thou takes on Spygate could probably start with this one.

A moral lecture on poor "culture" from a character who whitewashed corporate behaviour that led to the bankruptcy, false imprisonment and suicides of innocent postmasters.

Just read some more of his posts.... Lack of self awareness is astonishing.... You can see why the post office scandal happened when people like him were at the helm...

There's got to be something dodgy in the water in Teeside, surely.... What other explanation is there for their collective imbecilic response to all this?

Quite so. If you look at his website he manages to bury his involvement with the Post Office in a long list of toady-for-hire jobs he's done. So his literally daily obsession with Saints and our supposedly toxic culture take hypocrisy to new, dizzying heights. What - and I use this term advisedly - a total cunt.

Synonymous with the snivelling crying morale high ground treaders up there. An absolutely pathetic bunch of saps. It’s actually fucking hilarious. 🤣

Im glad theclub has come out fighting, too long have we bent over trying to be a homely club while others kick us.

If we sacked all the staff, all the players etc etc fans are always going to call us cheats. Personally I believe that when oppo fans sing to us being cheats it will goad our home fans into defieance and help lift the atmosphere at games. We are Saints and we are a family

It's about time Boro's fans looked at their own club first and demanded accountability for their two humiliating playoff defeats against us and Hull City.

I'm not sure they'll have such a good league season next year.

Their supporters should focus their efforts on their own club instead of constantly venting their hatred towards us.

If rumours are true that they will be squeezed financially next season it may explain why they can’t get to grips with screwing up a chance they should never have got.

Their continued obsession with us is pathetic when they seem to ignore the balls up their tearful manager made of the season

Yes, exactly what I was hoping for. Dragan is a media mogul, he should know. At last, he is taking control of the story. We were done over by the press and our own inactivity. Now there's the implied threat that carry on knocking us and we might sue for the potential loss of millions (let alone the reputation of SR). And leave Tonda alone. It's our call.

And as for those pious neaderthals living in the north east, they need to have this 'integrity' shoved down their throats. They've acted with anything but over this saga. I remember going to Ayresome Park around '80/'81 season and getting off the train, there was only a hundred of us and we were met with police horses, police dogs. There was more than a cop for each away fan. In those days, the Newcastle cops would come down to police the Boro games and I asked one of them why the large presence, and he said a Forest fan had been stabbed the previous home game. Can we sue them? Data breach on Will Salt? They need to be put in their place.

Championship Reddit still absolutely hates us, and hates the clubs responses today.

Next season is going to be fun!

Going from this 'scandal', its easy to see why 99% of SM is full of window lickers. Speak to people out and about, at work or at footie and its like a 'meh' type 'scandal'.

The outward response to SFC shines a light on the state of 'cancel culture' in the country

It is nuts

Cancel culture has become the norm especially when a media witch hunt is desperate for someone to be fed to the wolves. Very refreshing to see Saints stand up to the pressure and say no, we'll do things our way.

Dragan should know how the media works as well as anyone, so he can use it to our advantage.

By the time the season starts, wouldn't be surprised if in the media we'll be the club that was wronged and the witch hunt will turn on Gibson and Boro. There again, by the time the season starts, people will largely have forgotten about what happened three months ago.

Like Simon Jordan said, the clubs been punished the fans have been punished, Tondas cost himself a big pay rise, a promotion with big reputation what more do people want bringing him into the streets so people can throw stuff at him

He’s right

This is the thing, it doesn't mean what we did is right, but professional sport - football in particular, is a dirty, dirty game. Everyone playing little games to get advantages, if that's spending too much money, selling the women's team to your parent club to pass PSR, or chatting to players to tap them up before talking to their current employers. That's not even touching on in-game betting, or using the media to manipulate narratives. All of that is dirty shit, and a hell of a lot more dirty and deplorable than a kid with an IPhone.

The way it was made out that we've committed treason, given everything else that goes on daily in FIFA, EPL, FA etc, makes my blood boil.

I have massive issues with SR overall but I do agree that the Middlesbrough obsession and certain media outlets eg BBC, Sky, Mail, Guardian, Telegraph, and has-beens like Henry Winter is plain weird and I’ve had a gutload of them. The punishment has been levied and it was very significant.

The best thing Dragan could do is get Jordan on the club's board*... Someone who knows all about how to run a football club and talks common sense to boot....!

(* Yes, I know, never gonna happen.... #tongue-in-cheek)

Has this interview been severely edited by the BBC to make dragan look worse? or did he really basically blame the whole thing on the intern? 🤨

I've not read it, but I believe the written version is longer... Not sure how much has been edited out though

It does come across a little as victim blaming by the club not a good look hopefully this isn't the full context

I have a feeling the BBC have a habit of editing things out (so that Trump fella said). Is it possible that M'boro want Tonda sacked so that they can recruit him. It must have been amazing for them to see a manger talk for a few minutes without crying 😁

I think his point was that we are not such a hierachical company that people fear to push back on a bad steer like this.

The real culprit is not Tonda or the intern but the man in the middle who said "you legend" with whom the inter was texting with, he should of shielded the intern and pushed back on the spying.
