Master Bates Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 FORMER Saints chairman Leon Crouch has said he would be “very happy” to sit down and hold “meaningful” talks with his fellow major shareholders........ http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4152006.Crouch__happy__to_talk_to_Lowe_and_Wilde/ Trust want an olive branch for Crouch. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4151999.Saints_Trust_want_Crouch_to_be_handed_an_olive_branch/

dubai_phil Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 But he ALSO says avoiding relegation should be the focus of EVERYONE at this time and the "other stuff" should be sorted out at the end of the season. lordswoodsaints Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 but do lowe and wilde want to talk to him? something needs to give with these three or we are just going to be in constant limbo,it is obvious nobody in their right mind would want to buy us at the moment, not until the threat of relegation is erased so they probably are going to have to work together to keep us safe..........perhaps somebody will fancy us then :smt102

Frank's cousin Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 I agree about the thrashing things out after the campaign, but IF LOwe and Wilde issued a statement NOW stating they WELCOMED the olive branch and would work up a schedule for POSITIVE and CONSTRUCTIVE talks to begin on season end, would that not be a very positive mesasage to fans, players and teh club as a whole? Come on RUPERT, COME on MIkey - be MEN for once - if you want to hold the 'moral' highground, eaccept this olice branch with good grace and see it as a positive step for once.... StuRomseySaint Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 More public statements from the Trust. When did the Trust canvass their members to come to the conclusion that their membership want Crouch back now, and also the 2 local MP's on the board? Seriously, this is starting to take the p!ss now.

saintjay77 Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 Its a good point. They've got to talk but its a distraction we might not need yet, unless they believe the campaign is over? It depends on what they are going to start talking about. If Crouch wants a way in so he can try to change things then it will just end up in another battle. but if he just wants to be involved and help make the current system work then there is no reason why he cant join in when ever. Being a major shareholder he has a right to know whats going on and if he can help then fantastic. Most of us have been saying the way forward would be if all 3 can work together. Lowe has a chance here to either make himself look a knob and give Crouch the swans or suprise a few people and find a way to bring Crouch into the mix. Focus on the priority - staying up = first truly sensible comment I have seen from him for a while IMHO Indeed and a stark contrast to last year with the other two calling an EGM at such a crucial time. That aside, this is a start and one that i'm not sure lowe and wilde can walk away from. An agreeement in principal to talk at the end of the season.....what harm could that do? If lowe and wilde agree to talks now, (To commence at the end of the season) It may even go as far as quelling the lowe and wilde lynch mob in the short term. If they don't agree to it, then people can make their own minds up (Those that havent yet done so ). I'm not a fan of any of them particulary, but this is a good move from Crouch and with the Echo acting as the man in the middle, lowe and wilde need to respond. If they decline the offer, they deserve all the protests and abuse they will get.

More games from all concerned. I predict this....sadly our run will come to an end at some point and relegation will be staring us in the face...guess what?? ALL OUT FOOOOKING WARFARE BETWEEN ALL THREE OF THEM AGAIN Sorry, but the collective contributions of ALL posters on here make more sense than those three put together - what does that tell you??? SaintDonkey Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 Hopefully Lowe and Wilde will accept it on face value. Although given the tales told of Crouch's actions at the EGM I worry that it's an empty gesture and I guess that Lowe and Wilde will fear the same. I thought there was a bit of time inbetween the two events, but I could be wrong. It all just moulds into one. I dont think the two things, staying up and the three egos talking is mutually exclusive as long as the three of them can keep a lid on it it shouldn't affect the players. We need another set of minutes to pour over. Edited 25 February, 2009 by Fan The Flames
Charlie Wayman Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 The last time they all got together it became a schoolboy brawl. If only we had mature adults at board level!!! "Old boys' club" means literally that, OLD school boys.

Saint Fan CaM Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 Too many chefs spoil the broth...especially when the present incumbants have served up a dogs dinner of a season. The Trust is a useless bunch of individuals who finally manage to put together a half-baked plan to 'save the club' - oh yes, and promote themselves into some position of importance. I think Crouch is one of the good guys, but the subjects of both of those reports is laughable.
charliemiller Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 Been here before .....Runnymede Meeting , Leon took the structure prepared to remove the Execs and did it himself . NickG Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 As one who has moaned about Crouch's comments in the past... I thought the page article in tonights echo shows him in a very good light. There is no petty point scoring. Urges all to forget about politics until after the season and support Saints and Wotte. The priority is to avoid relegation. Well done Leon. NickG Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 as protests were seeking the return of LC, and against (amongst other things) Wotte - now that LC has asked for no politics and to support Wotte -does this mean the protests will be cancelled
