White Star Line?

Well, we have certainly hit an iceberg; Captain Lowe standing on the bridge ordering 'full steam ahead', lookout Wilde in the crow's nest having forgotten his binoculars, and Marconi man Jones ignoring the warnings of 'bergs ahead :(

Haven't we been here before?

I'm sure someone has asked Virgin and their response was along the lines of Virgin would not sponsor a football team because that would be 'regionalist' whereas Virgin is a national/international brand.

Their fear was that by sponsoring a team from a particular area it would prejudice markets in other areas, ie. no one in P****mouth would buy Virgin products. (I'm sure they all use Tesco value mobile phones anyway!)

Exactly the response.

This could be aload of bull **** but my M8 reckons when he is going to invest in football he will do so at Oxford Utd because he supports them my m8 is a Oxford fan but knows people high up there.

How much is your "m8" worth? Does he know that Oxford Utd will cost him more than a packet of Cheese Straws?

I understand he has been invited to invest into Oxford before, and he turned them down

He's either not interested in football, or he sees football clubs as bad investments

Is it true that his mum lives in the New Forest area

No, his mum and dad live in the Witterings (Near Chichester), not far from my parents.

I have met Richard on a few occasions as my other half has had 18 years service with Virgin Atlantic - she did spend a week in Neckar island (http://www.neckerisland.com) with Richard (and Ted, his father), so I could always get her to put a word in.

Branson via Vigin has just invested heavily in F1.

A deal which expires after the Malaysian GP this weekend.

He lives in Kidlington, a few miles outside Oxford, so this has some legs.

I'm sure I can remember that a Virgin company sponsored Crystal Palace back in the late 80's/early 90's.

Had she got any gossip from his pillow talk we could use to blackmail him?

we offer the right colour scheme for his brand, not sure we offer the right kind of marketing vehicle though seeing as we are close to the third tier of English football. If we was to enter this market he'd want to back a footballing giant.

I knew selling Crouch would come back to haunt us.

Well if they get sponsored by TESCO then that's the last you'll see of me in there.
