NickG Posted 23 April, 2009 Author Share Posted 23 April, 2009 will appeal, think league are a members organisation and have looked it as that rather than looking at the rules. They have made comments that club is in administration which isn't true so how can they include that in their judgement, will appeal to football league and if that fails can take it to a higher level with FA and QCs. NickG Posted 23 April, 2009 Author Share Posted 23 April, 2009 sorry can someone explain duel-dilligence dont get it! Due Diligence" is a legal term which means, essentially, to make sure that all the facts regarding the company that you intend to invest in are available and have been independently verified. In some respects, it is very similar to an audit. All the documents of the company are assembled and reviewed, the management is interviewed and a team of financial experts, lawyers and accountants descends on the business to analyze it. (At least, that's what happens with it is a large business). The goal of due diligence is simple: Learn as much as possible about this particular business and the industry. Particularly in a soft economy, a little due diligence is worth the effort, and it usually can be done in a few short hours. Like prevention, an ounce of due diligence is worth a pound of cure. Even if you're confident that the business or project you intend to invest in is legit and capable of living up to its promises, a little due diligence will help you understand their unique nature and allow you to better understand what you're getting into. There was a time not so long ago when a law firm would have to use an "information specialist" to find this information, or in extreme cases, hire a "corporate spy" to dig up the most sensitive competitive business information. But today, with so much business, legal and news information available on the Internet, getting this kind of "business intelligence" is infinitely easier. This is true even in Panama. To locate company background and financial information via the Internet follow these steps:
St Lightjaw Posted 23 April, 2009 Share Posted 23 April, 2009 I'm selling my car for £700. It's had a smash, and the petrol leakage will mean it's more expensive for you to run each week. If we are to be fined 10 points the date of fine should be decided now, not just when they feel like it adn when it causes us th emost problems, that is simply not how the fines system that was put in place works Because a time deadline was introduced to stop clubs who were likely to go down (Leeds) from going into admin when the deduction would have no effect. A bit like the House of Lords for sporting matters. Why not, this is important stuff, it involves US.... The CAS (http://www.tas-cas.org) will only take up things in about a year's time.. it'll take that long to get a case heard, maybe less though, due to no world cup, olympics or european championships this summer. However, we'd have to appeal against the decision of the FL, then it would go to the courts who would more than likely refer it to the CAS

They're good like that. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We'll be punished regardless though? If the league was worried about clubs getting their deduction when they're pratically already down they should have moved the date to the middle of February... I cant see how they can say, seeing as we're past the cut of date, that the point deduction can apply this season... when the whole reason they've set that date is so it isnt!!! I cant remember the exact date of the top of my head but lets say March 24th, it should be... club goes into Admin pre march 24th... deduction implemented that season, after march 24th... next season... regardless of league placing!! If the league are so concerned with clubs "doing a leeds" then move the date to the middle of feb, either way, we're in a lose lose situation! *PS Legod, that wasnt a rant at you obviously, was aimed squarly at the "league"*

niceandfriendly Posted 23 April, 2009 Share Posted 23 April, 2009 Was quite impressed with Fry on SSN actually. He seemed much more confident than he did in hsi first interview - probably all this press/media attention and TV appearances he's been making! He seemed 100% confident that the FL were wrong in their decision and will appeal. I'd rather he found us a buyer though as I fear that's our biggest worry rather than a points deduction. Where did you guys hear him say they were in a due diligence stage with two potential buyers? Was this on Solent?
