Fry on solent now

will appeal, think league are a members organisation and have looked it as that rather than looking at the rules. They have made comments that club is in administration which isn't true so how can they include that in their judgement, will appeal to football league and if that fails can take it to a higher level with FA and QCs.

Said hopeful takeover will be completed before money runs as now have two seriuos contenders at advance stage

On the solent thread but thought worthy of note on its own.

Fry announced that reached due diligence with serious contender who would be good for the future of club and will reach due diligence with another tomorrow.

Hopeful of takeover soon.

So could today's 10-point penalty speed up negotiations?

Every cloud . . .

This is what I'm hoping. No doubt potential buyers were holding back slightly waiting to know what league we will be in next season. We now know this, so there are not that many unknowns left.

One is Barry the Briefcase

The other is a Life Long Cherry Supporter....

PS Edit

Snap Stanley ;-)

Not Quite GITR -

I think Rhonda preferred chilled Remy Martin to Rupert the Bear Jumpers...

Whole different class of idiot ;)

What about the Court of Arbitration and Appeals for Sport (?), based in Lausanne I think, aren't they the ultimate final appeal for sporting disputes? A bit like the House of Lords for sporting matters.

Why not, this is important stuff, it involves US....

the thing i dont understand is how they can wait to find out our fate before deciding when the punishment should apply. If we surveive its this season if not its at the start of next season. If we are to be fined 10 points the date of fine should be decided now, not just when they feel like it adn when it causes us th emost problems, that is simply not how the fines system that was put in place works

sorry can someone explain duel-dilligence dont get it!

Due Diligence" is a legal term which means, essentially, to make sure that all the facts regarding the company that you intend to invest in are available and have been independently verified. In some respects, it is very similar to an audit. All the documents of the company are assembled and reviewed, the management is interviewed and a team of financial experts, lawyers and accountants descends on the business to analyze it. (At least, that's what happens with it is a large business).

The goal of due diligence is simple: Learn as much as possible about this particular business and the industry. Particularly in a soft economy, a little due diligence is worth the effort, and it usually can be done in a few short hours. Like prevention, an ounce of due diligence is worth a pound of cure. Even if you're confident that the business or project you intend to invest in is legit and capable of living up to its promises, a little due diligence will help you understand their unique nature and allow you to better understand what you're getting into.

There was a time not so long ago when a law firm would have to use an "information specialist" to find this information, or in extreme cases, hire a "corporate spy" to dig up the most sensitive competitive business information. But today, with so much business, legal and news information available on the Internet, getting this kind of "business intelligence" is infinitely easier. This is true even in Panama. To locate company background and financial information via the Internet follow these steps:

I'm selling my car for £700.

It's had a smash, and the petrol leakage will mean it's more expensive for you to run each week.

Also, you have to pay the remaining £12,000 worth of finance I took out before I can release it.

Hurry though if ya interested !!!

I've had loads of calls about it, and have spoken to 2 nut cases recently.

Because a time deadline was introduced to stop clubs who were likely to go down (Leeds) from going into admin when the deduction would have no effect.

They want the deduction to cause problems to the club.

Because the league want to punish you and me, not Rupert Lowe.

They're good like that.

The CAS (http://www.tas-cas.org) will only take up things in about a year's time.. it'll take that long to get a case heard, maybe less though, due to no world cup, olympics or european championships this summer.

However, we'd have to appeal against the decision of the FL, then it would go to the courts who would more than likely refer it to the CAS

I believe you will find that is unlikely to be the case

We'll be punished regardless though?

If the league was worried about clubs getting their deduction when they're pratically already down they should have moved the date to the middle of February...

I cant see how they can say, seeing as we're past the cut of date, that the point deduction can apply this season... when the whole reason they've set that date is so it isnt!!!

I cant remember the exact date of the top of my head but lets say March 24th, it should be... club goes into Admin pre march 24th... deduction implemented that season, after march 24th... next season... regardless of league placing!! If the league are so concerned with clubs "doing a leeds" then move the date to the middle of feb, either way, we're in a lose lose situation!

*PS Legod, that wasnt a rant at you obviously, was aimed squarly at the "league"*

Doesn't make it right though. The deadline should be the deadline, therefore any punishment should take affect next season. Stay up and we're minus 10 in the Championship, go down and we're minus 10 in League 1.

You are preaching to the converted my son.

The country has a debt of £175bn.

The world is in a financial crisis.

And clubs who have been relegated from the Premiership are suffering financial ruin.

And the league's plan is to put them out of business.

What kind of club treats its members with such disdain???

And I say that as someone who campainged for Wimbledon to remain there and against the points deductions against Luton, Rotherham and Bournemouth.

And only didn't with Leeds because they're dirty barstewards!!!!!!

We all turn a blind eye to West Ham playing an illegal player and being in adminstration but little plucky clubs like Saints can go by the wayside...

Thank you Brian Mawhinney - you clown.

Sounds like some good might come out of this......

I agree Alpine. We now know where we are

I'm very confident that we will have a buyer and hopefully a very good one at that to take this Club forward from the mire that Lowe and Wilde have left.

I suggest you look in the Directors Box this Saturday for any clues.

The only straw I can clutch to after the FL giving us a massive arse****ing today is that at least any potential buyers now know what they are buying, hopefully moving things at last.

Hopefulyl our zilcher value may make us cheaper to buy.

Was quite impressed with Fry on SSN actually. He seemed much more confident than he did in hsi first interview - probably all this press/media attention and TV appearances he's been making! He seemed 100% confident that the FL were wrong in their decision and will appeal.

I'd rather he found us a buyer though as I fear that's our biggest worry rather than a points deduction.

Where did you guys hear him say they were in a due diligence stage with two potential buyers? Was this on Solent?

Regardless of the rights and wrongs of him assuming such responsibility, its excellent to see someone fighting for our clubs future right now.

You didn't mention Tottenham a few years ago. What was it originally? 12 points deduction and a whopping fine? Even the ground stewards at the time knew that it would never be implemented. Weren't Swindon demoted one year when Hoddle had won them promotion?
