  1. Fonte for his goals Morgan for his work rate
  2. Just not good enough at the moment and not sure we can afford the luxury of letting him gain enough experience to get him upto standard.....far too many championship standard players already in our squad I'm afraid.
  3. Once again strange substitutions, replacing two effective players with chaplow and guly. Apart from possibly Morgan and lallana we finished with a championship standard team and it lost us the 3 points.adkins must feel a very lucky man tonight. I'm not convinced by Rodriguez, his work rate is nowhere near good enough and not a patch on lamberts. Hooiveld for golden boot.
  4. The simple brutal truth is success = more fans and less success = less fans Nothing we or anyone can do can change that,it's written in stone. We have been successful in getting to the prem but we haven't had too much success whilst we've been here so crowds of 25k+ are about right for us really. Anyway I'm happy with less fans as I get more elbow room and less queuing,if you want big crowds go and sit in west quay on a Saturday after everybody gets paid.
  5. It seems The contractors are concerned about the players training at the same time as the work is going on,guly and Rodriguez keep knocking the brickies off of the scaffold with their wayward shooting.
  6. Saw him last Sunday morning.
  7. You are right,it is all of that but the hard truth is that this is where the money is and that is why NC got us here,so I would imagine he wants us to stay here regardless of what your take on it is.
  8. Yes I'm with this,NC doesn't seem the type of man to make rash decisions without having a backup plan.i hope that Nigel does get a decent chance just not at the expense of us getting relegated.there has to be a cutoff point when NC says enough is enough and does act but for the meantime I'm praying that Adkins will become a great manager.
  9. I think you will find that there are a few on here who will turn a blind eye to everything even if it means relegation which to me is stupid,For me staying in the prem has to be the priority and if the manager is unable to provide that then it's time to move on.
  10. What it all really comes down to is if NC thinks Adkins is the right man for the job,he's not a stupid man so I'm guessing ,like many on here the doubts must be creeping in. after investing so much money in getting us here and then splashing out £25m+ on players this season NC is not going to let it all slip away just because of how well Adkins has done upto now. Without doubt he will act if things are not going the way he wants, his job is to protect the family's investment and to do his best to maximise its potential and if that is under threat then you can bet your life so will Adkins job regardless of what you or I think of the decision.
  11. What the hell has 2 years ago got to do with our present situation......if my auntie had a cock she would be my uncle. The problem is we are not 'mixing it' with the top teams,we are rolling over and letting them tickle our nuts because of bad team selections and stupid tactics. Besides we have been told to expect champions league football so now I want it,or was that championship football? Anyway,I always keep the faith,I'm just not sure that they are able to repay the faith I have in them.
  12. Good post but do you really think Adkins will be given money to spend in January if we are still floundering?.....I just can't see it happening, the January window is notoriously hard to prise decent players away from their clubs as it is without factoring in that buying a few decent players could add massively to our problems if we are relegated. I just can't see NC releasing the money if there is a good chance we will get relegated.
  13. It's not just Everton, since we've been away football has been sanitized on and off of the field,no tackling to get you all riled up,no name calling,no unpleasant chanting, far too many females not enough characters in the game and clean toilets. Bring back the bad old days for me.
  14. I'm sorry but I don't buy into this 'going down is good' malarkey,if we go down we would lose a fare chunk of the decent players as they have now tasted the big time, going down would be a disaster....why not put all of your effort into staying up,call me old fashioned but staying up has got to be better than going down and hoping that we would instantly be transformed in the championships top dogs again.
  15. Or 2nd or 3rd worst....I actually would like to stay in this division and I would imagine that NC does as well, although his ambitions seem to be a bit higher than mine.
  16. The lad said himself in the week he wanted to play upfront and I'm guessing that when he signed he wasn't told he would play out of position.....apart from the money I expect he is wondering why he signed. For me we lost it playing too many inexperienced players in a unfamiliar setup (shades of the Dutch experiment?)....Adkins should have stuck with a combination of what he finished with in the game against villa, why change a winning, working formation and team? Too many tweaks and it cost us,the villa game was just papering over the cracks for me....ok,it was against a sort of in form Everton side but even so we could have and should have done better, a draw was not out of the realms of possibility but we blew the chance on experiment, inexperience and bad tactics.
  17. John terry has said he is 'over the moon' at becoming a father again!
  18. He must be 86 by now surely?....tbh we never saw the best of him after coming to us from arsenal but I remember him doing well for Fulham on occasions. Good luck to him.
  19. The saints pub showed the arsenal game and so did oceana
  20. I did hear from a mate that was sat right where clyne celebrated his goal that one of the stewards was heavy handed with clyne and started shouting abuse at him for celebrating with the fans.
  21. He's only doing what the likes of Ashley cole does every week.
  22. Lambert was running the show yesterday both verbally and with his feet,he was talking to and directing players,he was letting players know what he expected but more importantly he was doing a lot of other important stuff like defending and playing to create stuff for other players....it almost looked as if Nigel had given him a free role.....superb. I reckon he's on for 20+ goals.
  23. I criticised his performance against Manu, not the actual players fault but just the manner and the situation he was thrust into but he looked a completely different player yesterday, power, pace and a bit of vision.....looks like he's going to be a decent signing.
