Just watched Pochettino on ITV4 now ... he still dresses like a uni grad on placement.

This, definitely this! He is well 'loved' by many Saints fans and he should definitely hang around to win the FA Cup for us! We can but dream, hey? -

Well this was very badly phrased then?? "shirleysfc Because you've stated 100% that he'll go. Mates will have insider knowledge, I'm not so sure about stalkers. -

Nah, come on Artur, that number 1 shirt is yours unless you stuff it up. Competition is healthy - fight for that first team place Edit: Plus additionally, due to the injuries from last season, I think the competition is even more healthy as Gazzaniga isn't ready and Kelvin on his way to retirement (and hopefully staying with the club to coach long term??) -
Take the medication. I have no more words.

Really?? How many points did we win without Artur in goal vs him in goal? His loss was THE biggest factor in our semi slump - with decent competition, we have two goalies who will want that number 1 spot, rather than one who is learning and one who wants to be a coach. I love Kelvin, although his injuries are worrying but he's a great 3rd choice with a sensible head. -
Youtube, De Ridder, etc etc etc., but I like the look of this guy's defensive skill set. No nonsense, not afraid to put the big challenges in - a yes please from me based on this short compilation!

Agree with this too - very sensible of Saints. Boruc had to fight for his number 1 spot at Fiorentina if memory serves me well and duly got his number 1 spot. Competition is good. They'll be fighting for that spot, but I do agree it's Boruc's until he does another Cruyff f**king turn in the penalty area -
Morgan's head gone- Update: It has been re-attached

What to the board need to do to gain back the trust of the fans?

Unfortunately this is true I think. Those who think the club is being sold won't budge from that opinion now, despite what happens. -
I think we can expect them down here for the weekend to do medicals and sign.

Ahh Marching In! + Dave Currie on the Uni server dishing up the "official Saints Website"!

Katarina Doesn't Want To Invest Anymore In The Club - Krueger

I don't see the problem with this statement. Look, we're a 'provincial' club who was batting above its weight for 27 years in the top flight. Finishing 2nd once in an era where football was so different it was unreal; I mean, signing Keegan is like us signing Messi, Ronaldo or Bale now, right? It's mental! We have never and will never have the fanbase of Man Utd, Liverpool or Arsenal. They are the 3 defacto top clubs by power of revenue alone. Chelsea and Man City have joined them by ridiculous injections of cash and in the case of Man City, have fallen foul of the FFP rules. Even when we had the Dell with "unlimited" standing, 30,000 people was our max. Sure, for a big game we could pull 45/50000, but in these times of austerity, that would be once or twice a season. 30/35000 is about right for us and we're about the right size for a mid-table club who occasionally gets some amazing players (last season) that could propel us higher. Many would argue Pochettino should have done better with these players ...... But, why should we expect her to pump in her own cash? She has a self-sustaining, mid-table Prem side who make fluke the odd appearance in Europe and that keeps producing top class talent. The trouble with a lot of Saints fans is Sky; the Sky generation. -

Agree. I want him to do well there, but I just don't think his ego is big enough to fit in. -
Great post Norm and really good to see the pictures again - I remember looking round in the build days with Essruu; think we all had sandwiches in one of the cabins if memory serves me correctly?? I'm an eternal optimistic, but on the pessimism, I genuinely believe that many people have bought into Cortese's guff about Champions League in the various press releases, like the players did. Yes it's a good dream to have, but it's simply not going to happen for the foreseeable future unless we spend hundreds of £ms on players or keep our next Bales ... oh ... I'm of the opinion that we've got a good enough team to beat at least 10 other teams in the league and have a decent cup run. Outside the top 7/8, the rest of the Premier League is a much of a muchness with a couple of stand out poor teams. We could finish anywhere from 8th to 14th - I'm sure it won't be boring though and we'll see some good football which we as Saints fans now enjoy.

Interesting - that was my one annoyance, that it seems to have delinked my accounts
