  1. Not so far to bloody drive for starters.
  2. Arrrrrrrgh......... Just spotted lucky undercrackers just went in the washing machine......... Apologies in advance folks EDIT: Mrs JBS just confessed hers too......... Oh bugger!!!!
  3. I could be very wrong but I think I recall his Wife or a friend of hers might have had a brush with it.
  4. Performance if the season - Shane Long - endlessly running!
  5. Bunch of jokers the lot of them......... Nice being labelled as a pensioner at 51!!!! As Toomer said earlier, most of us in the Chapel have done our time being lairy, singing a bigger repertoire of songs having a right giggle on a Saturday afternoon standing on the terraces of the Milton Road and latterly the Archers Road end, all against a back drop of getting your head properly kicked in by opposition fans with no rules of engagement. As an aside it is so nice being able to walk down the road with oppo fans having a civilised chat both before and after a game without the need to be chaperoned and separated by the old bill. Still in a few years time many of the current supporter police amongst us will be pensioners too, sooner than expected based on current joining age criteria........... Oh 9.5 hours till Horlicks: Mmmmmmmmm.
  6. PA is top of the list, although I was amazed at how bad it was at WHL last Sunday, when that brave little nipper came onto the pitch with the bladed legs you really had to strain to hear what was being said about him. A paint job of the concourse would be nice, there are times in the dead of winter when it feels pretty depressing down there because it's so drab.
  7. Blimey this has rapidly hit the Media crescendo of Strachan to Leeds all those years ago when he had us purring along and Leeds was a basket case. Once again as a Saints fan of many years, you have that feeling akin to another chap cracking on to your girlfriend. But you feel powerless to do anything about it, in that the board regardless of which Saints era they are from just shrug their shoulders and capitulate seemingly meekly, instead of punching the bounder on his nose and sending him on his way with his tail between his legs. It's a case of just let the story run its course, if he stays and even extends: excellent news. If he goes: ah well here we go again. Oh for the stable years of Lawrie McMenemy.
  8. He was kidnapped in the car park, bound, gagged and locked in the cells under the Northam, and excuses made for him.
  9. In the boxes of other news at the bottom, there is one box stating that Jesse Lingard could possibly replace the hole left by Welbeck being crocked in the England Euro squad. I know it's just tabloid gossip, but if that were to happen I would have to find something else to do.
  10. It would be funny for us to quietly slide in there un-noticed come teatime Sunday.
  11. Still at the end of the day Man U have failed to properly plan their journey for a televised game in London, their bus getting bottled is the perfect excuse for them not receiving any sanction. Still having now seen the coach do we really want bellends like that representing our country in Europe as travelling supporters.
  12. I thought Gazza did alright in the full game he had at Palace, 2 keepers would have saved the goal, he pulled off quite a few good saves in tricky conditions, felt a bit sorry for him when he was resigned to the bench next game. These guys need game time I would have him over Stek who I don't think I have seen make a save of note, as for Gazza being a stumblebum, Spurs first goal on Sunday was a joke, Forster should have had that all day long.
  13. Have you phoned up rather than tried on t'internet, whenever we sat in there for sold out games there were often blokes with no tin lids sat in the random odd seat.
  14. That reads much more comfortably, than being there in person. Their goal and Jose dicking around with Kane in the box aside, you forget just how good we are in defence and fear for how good at getting spawny late goals Spurs have been this season.
  15. In Alpines defence, Spurs fans sat on the train behind us were having the same conversation about what if we hadn't had our blip around the time they beat us at ours. At least our season is running to the end rather than just fizzling out lamely.
  16. That is still going round in my head on a bloody loop, walked out of Basingstoke station whistling it in the tunnel First trip ever to WHL so a very happy boy at the final whistle. That second goal was like super slow motion, crap a daisy cutter, Lloris has got that, oh no he hasn't, must be going wide then,............ It's in the back of the net!!!!! Mention for the Spurs fan in the blue shirt giving it out first half, turned around and found he was alone in his rant as someone in our lot, oh dear the bloke got the full force of the Saints fans back at him, when the second went in we had the shirt off his back literally.
  17. Oooo that's a bit nasty!
  18. Blimey I was only reading a bit about him in Saturdays paper, didn't mention it in there. I can remember when he played for Bolton, we played them in a 2-2 draw midweek first home game of the first season back in the old 1st Division. I use to be down the very front of the Milton always hanging over the wall, Frank came to get the ball for a corner right in front of me and the intense smell of embrocation oil was almost tangible. Whenever I hear of Frank Worthington thats the first thing I think of.............. I did often wonder how he always pulled the Ladies smelling like that, because you are going to have to use carbolic soap to get rid of that smell: then infuse your skin with the smell of Fawley in the process!!
  19. Having been updated by a young person, they have sold out of the 13,000 tickets they offered up, once they go over that number, the Police and their costs get involved and the road outside SMS then enters the necessity to be closed. My Daughter was a bit miffed as she wanted to go and missed the announcement before it was too late.
  20. .......and you just punted it back up the page to compound our misery, (and wasted a post in the process), ho hum!
  21. My Daughter piped up and said about it when questioned, they had one last year too, or similar, which was well attended. And if you don't have tickets you can watch on You Tube, obviously, where to folks of a certain age those taking part are "household" names. True Geordie was on the commentary last year, I have to say it is a bit weird listening to him without the colourful effin and jeffin he peppers his football reviews with.
  22. Curious that no-one has mentioned that Veho are featured on a concept shirt image ......... which probably means we are still in the dark all round. I agree with the white socks comment above, always looks better.
  23. Afraid it is, lived down the road from me, bit of a winkle.
  24. Sums him up well "Everyone is saying ‘great save’ but it really was quite easy once the man who runs like a penguin tickled it at the goal"
