Are people still waiting for Pompey ticket email?
Saint-Fred replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
No e-mail yet but at 8.31 tonight 2 tickets on bus 28 appeared on my purchase history! We are coming for you!!!! -
Does anyone see the point/enjoy goal music ?
Saint-Fred replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
I wish they would play it randomly at various points during the game as I struggle to hear it played after a goal what with all the shouting and chanting. They could wait for a quiet moment and blare it out so we can all enjoy it. -
I have a three man tent they could borrow but that's probably too large so if anyone has a two man one please?

Talk sport half time round up " coventy aren't second best to southampton..more like third or fourth best!" LOL

If you're fat do you have to purchase two seats?
Saint-Fred replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
yeah but being so tight you made her go dutch and you were eyeing up all the blokes around you. She said you were a crap date. -

Why not just make people alternate? Fat bloke thin bloke fat bloke thin bloke..you get the gist..that way no issue each pair takes up the space of two "normal" sized people. -
Yes because the idiots in 42 are more worried about waving their season tickets at block 43 than supporting the team. Actually though i would say the Kingsland corner are the core song starters now not the Northam. At the forest game they were singing "our fans are f***ing s*it" to block 42 as they were so quiet..lol

and in the sun today a bit saying "oh cortese didn't really mention mcmenemy- we made that up to sensationalise the story and give divs like SISA amunition against cortese even though it's not true!" it's a shame tha SISA- who don't represent many saints fans anyway (3 is it?)- aren't more balanced in their views. They (him) are too willing to listen and believe the worst without considering the evidence at hand or they just pick the bits which add to there conspiracy theory ignoring anything that doesn't fit the agenda..and why? because cortese won't recognise this psudo, non representative body. SISA crave power even though they have no right to any and that's why the chip on the shoulder grows bigger and bigger by the day.

Thanks, Not sure how that would work as they will make it to people on the database etc only so any Brighton fan only needs to get a ticket for one of the games coming up to do that?
-
Looking at the announcement that the next batch of tickets for home games are on sale, the last of which is Palace on boxing day, it occured to me that the Brighton tickets for mid Nov are not in the list. Did I miss something?

And some fans don't want him as they "perceive" based on internet rumour and inuendo that he is arrogant and unfit. Let's leave it to the professionals who will decide whether he has something to offer!
-
So you assume after taking the extreme step of getting every Saints fan with a ticket on buses to travel together, once there they will just let you off the bus to wander round portsmouth? Or that they will let other people who weren't on the bus to come and mingle with them? Better off getting your stockbroker mate to get a plane and parachute you over the policelines?

I agree with you and it would be ok if it was the odd pantomine boo! Some of the comments on these threads about AOC are well over the top, Some people showing a real hatred for anyone who leaves Saints? We give abuse to former skates who play against us..so once a skate always a skate? Surely therefore once a saint always a saint should apply too? I think it shows a bit of class for fans to acknowledge a returning former player-but then to move on with supporting the current players very quickly from that.

Also been spotted in Southampton watching Saints score 6 against Man Utd! So could be something in it.

My eldest, 11, is a Saint through and through. My youngest wears the kits, enjoys going occasionally despite not being into footy really and when asked in front of me says he supports Saints but I know he wants to support Chelsea as his mates all do. Funny thing is my eldest mates all have Saints as their second team but I believe they wished they supported Saints but don't as they are following their fathers teams. Of course when I take my eldest we always take a spurs/liverpool/man U/Chelski supporting mate or two and I make sure I point out the benefits of supporting a local team rather than one they will only see on TV. Nearly converted a couple including one Liverpool fan who's Dad said to me in a weak moment that he hopes I do as it will give him an excuse to go to Saints more often, as he can't bring himself to switch sides!

Congratulations..Has the little fella got a name? or is he just "saints fan"

34 goals in 62 games for Sheff Utd in his season and a half in the championship suggests he could do it at championship level? To be fair I don't think he played much at Blackpool or Rangers so I don't see how people think how many goals he scored in the last 12 months is particularily relevant? Despite not playing much I don't recall there being stories of him causing problems at those clubs so I would tend to think the attitude bit may be exaggerated too? I don't think it would be much of a risk to give him a go- would it fit in with our apparent current buying strategy? Possibly not. He would not be a signing which would help if we get promoted. However would he offer competition/back up for Rickie? I think so, therefore in the absence of anyone else I think he would be a good option to have. He should do really well in L1 if that's where he goes...but I wish him well where ever he ends up as he gave us some great memories not least for me, being a major factor on the day Hoddle got sacked at the Spuds!

Yes but do we spend over the odds and break our pay structure to get them? Tonight the prem teams name a 25 man squad I would assume plan B is to see the fall out from that.

On the way / just got home from the game thread...
Saint-Fred replied to saintscottofthenortham's topic in The Saints
Oh yeah just a shame we lost..Third goal clearly a foul, the linesman was incredably poor and the ref was scared to make a real decision. -

Great day, good show by the travelling fans, Liked the line in the programme "arguably the biggest club on the south coast are back in the npower championship" Cork and Lallana are just a different class. -
Another one for Shilts and he played in a time where there was a glut of real top class goalies yet he was still the best in the world. Liked Niemi a lot, a great keeper, but IMO he wasn't quite the best in the league at the time and there wasn't the same talent around as when Shilton played.

Connolly doesn´t like the "back from the dead song"
Saint-Fred replied to St.Patrik's topic in The Saints
Whilst it makes it easy for people..Does every song we have now need to be to the same tune? How many versions have we got of this now? We are coming for you, makes messi look ****e, he can't fing count (to kelvin), back from the dead etc etc? in addition every ad-hoc made up chant seems to be made up to this tune as well. -
Yeah, seems like some of the rumours going around are pretty close to reality as the rumour about fox and j-rod came out last week before fox signed so at least part was true. This quote seems to back up that we are still after J-rod too? The rumours about maynard and j-rod refuse to die down so it could be assumed we are pushing quite hard for a signing and it depends which club or player who buckles first! Could also of course make Maynard realise that if he wants to move he needs to make the switch happen as we may sign another striker and lose interest? Really exciting times!!!!

Oooops Jayrod rather than a wine gum!!!

In the star today (i know!) there is a story saying we had a 4.5m bid turned down and a quote from the ops director Brendon Flood saying there is nothing that would tempt them to sale him!
