  1. Can't take him and Lingard on loan, but heard that one. Poss buying lingard then...
  2. But they have broguht in Bentacaur and Kulusevski....and they wanted rid of Alli before those 4 transfers...
  3. Not uncommon for us to pop up with a last minute loan, so if someone comes available, then great, if not, then so be it. We get on with the rest of the season. We should have enough to stay up, and we can sort stuff out for the summer.
  4. Why scattergun? They’re signing good premier league players. It’s not scattergun at all.
  5. Course it is.
  6. I know they’re not specifically the same position, but wonder if them signing Kulesevski means Alli will be leaving today / tomorrow. I’d definitely take him on a risk free loan.
  7. Not sure I've read anything suggesting we're willing to pay £17m. But thats what was pre-agreed with Moscow, with a buy back, after the loan. I think possibly Chelsea were protecting themselves there if he want and tore it up in that league. It was only an option.
  8. Think they said it was 100% agreed. Probably to get a bit more money out of Newcastle. His medical is today I think. I actually think they’ve recruited well, so far this month, him and Trippier are great signings. Wood bit of an odd one. But if it keeps them up cos Burnley don’t score, then I guess it’s good business? They still need a CB, which I guess will happen in next few days.
  9. I think if we were spending a load of money on him, then maybe. But it’s a no risk loan deal. It’s a no brainier IMO.
  10. Great signing that…
  11. An interesting one....certainly seems that we're keen and doesnt seem to be shy from the video below. Plenty of confidence. Maybe one for the summer if we can't get it done this month.
  12. Wonder if Armando can put us in a good word for Strakosha at Lazio. Few others in the Italian league that are pretty highly rated, no idea whether they'd be available or not. Audero (Sampdoria), Dragowski (Fiorentina), Cragno (Cagliari). Always seem to have a bunch of decent keepers in that league.
  13. It's one of the key benefits of being a STH. And probably one of the main reasons STH's buy a ST. I don't have a problem if STH's get priority of away games and key cup games.
  14. Seems pretty clear from all articles, that a second loan is not going to happen. He'll either be part of their squad next season, or he'll be sold.
  15. Was signed to be a part of the B team, and with this new kid coming in, I'm guessing they're expecting him to play for the B team, and therefore think it's the right time to give Simeu a few months playing every week. Be interesting to see how he gets on. If he does well, it wouldn't surprise me if one of our CB's goes in the summer, whether thats Stephens or Bednarek.
  16. Would be quite excited by this deal if I'm honest. No risk loan deal, possibly with an option in the summer. Goalscoring midfielder that needs to play. Clearly was a huge talent a few years ago, and probably a change of scenery will do him good. We're not going to buy players like this in form, as they'd cost upwards of £50m, and want to go to a bigger club, so this is the best chance of getting a player of his quality. If we can't get a tune out of him, then we send him back in the summer. Still can't see it happening, but who knows...
  17. I think £25m is fair, especially if we paid a loan fee this year. He's only got 1 decent 4 months under his belt. Also, the cost of this deal is going to be influenced heavily with whatever the buy back would be. £50 / 60m in 2 years time or something? No doubt his stock is high though, and assuming tthats true, clearly the club are afraid he'll end up elsewhere in the summer.
  18. It was a bit clumsy, but it's not a red IMO. Absolute no intent whatsoever, just very marginally mistimed. A yellow was the right call without a doubt.
  19. Absolutely nothing wrong with how we played. When you have spent the money City have, and have arguably the best coach of all time, and are arguably the best team thats ever existed, it's no real surprise we don't go gung ho. The Chesterfield fan...no idea what he was expecting, us to just hand it to them on a plate. Football is not about just trying to score more goals than the other side, it's about effort, team togetherness, and determination, and we showed a real spirit this weekend. We fully deserved that point, given how well we defended. We also always had a threat on the break, so not like we stuck 11 men behind the ball all game.
  20. Not sure you can call Stephens an academy boy tbh, he was already playing regularly for Plymouth when we signed him.
  21. We're a better side when he's in it, and despite his lack of goals, we seem way more likely to score when he's on the pitch. Agree with others, that it's a position that we could do with an upgrade on, but got no issue with Redmond starting atm. He's a decent enough premier league player for a club of our size.
  22. Could have been class for us - unfortunately, he's an absolute waster.
  23. He’s really good. Decent defender, and has grown the more he plays. Did very well last night.
  24. Because I guess Tino came available, and we are choosing to play him over KWP due to the model we've decided to go down. We can use him as an example to other young players that they'll get a chance. Sure I read somewhere Tino was told he'd be first choice before he'd signed. KWP is fine at LB, but if he wants to play RB, you can't blame him for looking at other options.
