  1. Go see the new one Bexy. No Spoilers, but he DOES pay homage to the past and the history. (AND in a way explains why Kirk's actions in reboot 1 set him apart from a sane organisation. The NEW film carries that on and covers that angle) Of the 3 mates I know who have been 1) Had never watched Star Trek but had to take his son (who LOVED it) Mate had no idea what was going on but was impressed 2) Mates who had seen the original series & movies more times than they care to remember. LOVED it. One is going again tomorrow. I'd go again in an instant but am a bit busy this week;) I posted a review on the What films are you watching thread, still stand by it. You will either love it or hate it. BUT the clever part? Whoever follows JJ can now do Old Style OR new style. The reboot is done, the 5 year mission...........
  2. Thanks Crabby. Now go take a Nurofen & a pint of water. Think you've earnt it
  3. Yeah he was blaming ESB. Not saying he'd had many but he was convinced we'd won 1-0..... He needs to learn it's called Old Age. We'll have a whip round & get him a Colostomy Bag for the next game he gets back for.
  4. None of them. But it is still penned in an Ouch manner. You can spin details in anyway your attitude wishes. Still nice to know what Samuel's opinion of us is. Am willing to bet he will not mention the send off we gave Owen.
  5. Respect to those at the ground yesterday. That (and his tweet) buried another portsmyth.
  6. Just want to say. To those at SMS yesterday. You did the Club PROUD with your ovation for Michael Owen. Obviously the TV picked it up as did EVERY other fan in the bar watching other games. THAT is how the Best Fans in the South of England show their appreciation for a Footballing Legend, not some tinpot round of applause for some random French bloke from North London
  7. Lallana ran around a lot. But always in the wrong areas. His choice of final ball in the final third was OVERALL very poor, a number of times he could not make up his mind whether to cross or shoot and ended up doing neither, especially in the 1st half. Basically it seems there is too much on his mind and it is clouding his decision making on the ball cross or shoot or Captain. Mentally he is not up to the job of being a creative player AND Captain. Armband needs to go to someone else and let Adam focus on scoring & creating goals. Yes it was his est game for ages but that is coming from a VERY low standard of late. It was an OK end to the season. Babewatch level in the pub was MUCH higher than usual (or was that because the ball spent more time in the air & we had more time to look around?) Oh & Eric went all the way to SMS & missed the Stoke goal
  8. Yeah but the other world Agent Dunham is WAY hotter.
  9. Well it's to Pap Take a
  10. Take vacation, refuse to pay rip off Data Roaming Charges and so actually look at the world outside your window
  11. Didn't watch (Thank God) But just seen a clip on the news. Is that John Terry in a Denmark kit in the background at the end?
  12. Actually disagree with you on that. Cork & Morgan are great DM's BUT Davis & JWP play their best football forward of those positions. In fact we improved when Cork came in but also that meant Davis no longer played so deep. IMHO we DO need cover there, and in the new mantra that will mean someone better than Morgan & Cork. It isn't a PRIORITY (CB Striker Wide Player FB cover) but it should be on the wish list
  13. Gareth Barry. No argument
  14. Yo. I think the mods was right. gives the Bear a two weeks holidays. Now they needs to go one further. Give him a pre-emptive extra ban of another two weeks so that he can start again in a month's time with -10 infarction points. Keep him off line for a whole month I say. That way I won't miss any quality posts while I am travelling without data roaming while doing the upgrade from FMDP to Mrs DP & the whole honeymoons and all. Bring him backs end of June and unbannable until we reach the CL. Perfect
  15. Assuming that the people of the club are of an equal intellect to most of the posters on this forum, I have a feeling that they may have worked out what they need to buy. I also think that the work for the 2 or 3 main targets has been done, MP joining us AND of course the clever PR game of the past few days all point to them coming on board pdq. It will be the opportunist signings that will drag. The "We need someone better than JP/AL" We need another SRL IF one becomes available. Those may take some time. Plus it will take Messi a month or so to sort out all his image rights deals
  16. One of the lads in the Village Cricket club was a Skate, Couple of others were football fans, They went to Saints games at the Dell back in the mid 80's when they could (before All-Seater) and Bompey when they wanted a day out. They used to go to SMS 2 or 3 times a season When we were rubbish they went down to skatemuff to watch their football as the skate would drive them down in his otherwise empty car. They knew as much about Saints and our tactics as most on here do (in fact more than some of the Numpties) Likewise they knew about the skates when they went down there. They were fans of football, just never fans of a team. I know one of them has been to SMS a couple of times this season and enjoyed it, Sure he'll go again. I have no issue with it, he never goes to games that would sell out as he usually only decides to go the day before a game anyway.
  17. It is so full of plot holes. It feels it is just ambling from one set piece action scene to the next. The acting is so insincere at times a 2 year could see a twist in the tale. The 3D effects are so fast that everything becomes a blur at times. Can't you even get timelines right in a rebooted Universe? Can see many grumpy old gits giving it a 2/10 Who needs a seamless plot, it's never harmed Dan Brown's book sales. Holy Crap the action just never seems to stop long enough to catch your breath. The Beauty of the Twist is that everyone knows what is coming and so it creates it's own sub-plot to help further develop the story both in the film and in the long term The DEPTH of the images is astonishing, there is simply SO MUCH in EVERY frame, the brain simply cannot comprehend and look everywhere at once, it is Visually astonishing. Loved the way they pay homage to Universe 1 in so many ways that build up to the ending. Cracking cracking afternoon's entertainment, worth EVERY penny to see the 3D version. Benedict is superb And now their 5 year mission, to explore strange new - well you know the rest. Star Trek Into Darkness FFS we didn't have a game today why the HELL haven't you been to see it? 9.5/10 from me Hell, I have NEVER heard a Cinema Audience applaud INDIVIDUAL moments in a movie before.
  18. Taking a backwards step, this has been magnificently managed from ALL sides. From a Media Management perspective it is almost as if The Family were involved from the first statement. NC leaks, 99% of the fan base unite. The Manager & players show true dedication to "The Project" (as these things are called these days). And then the Coup de Grace - Katherina ALSO emerges as a new face and new hero. And then even the MEDIA start to say we should be excited. Couldn't have worked that plan out better myself. to all who came up with that #masterstroke (The above represents an IMHO with a touch of Happy Clappy Cynicism mixed in!)
  19. I am shocked and surprised at this unforseen turn of events. #veryworriednow As in FFS somebody call The Samaritans for the you all know who's
  20. The 5.3 million pound game of football.
  21. Yo, so look, like the Bear is banned and like Yo, Randy hangs up his judging jackets. #notlinkedatall Look out for a new poster called Dawg #inittowinit
  22. Ah without being impolite, there speaks someone who's life is based on facts and data as opposed to raw emotion. Walsall & Coventry were magical moments built in pent up Joy/Relief/Disbelief/Shock. A Pitch invasion this year would just be embarrassing but at least we will get to see the Dubai Saints Flag being carried by a lonely Eric
