  1. Koeman left us for Everton for £6m a year and Evertons transfer kitty. There was no way we were going to compete with that. No club allows their manager to see their contract out Man U and Ferguson admitted it was a mistake that time he announce his retirement and Arsenal haven't aĺlowed their longest serving most successful manager to have a valedictory season. If there was a point when our decline started it was the choice of Puel. Blaming the Koeman decision is as wrong as blaming the Pelligrino reign on the sacking of Puel.
  2. So there must be a handful of people like that, the rest are just ordinary people watching the football, it's no big deal.
  3. You said you had a good time so why get so worked up because some bloke wants to wear a jester hat or wants to film it. You call me angry but you're the one on a message board moaning that our fans are an embarrassment, what is it you want the fans to be like?
  4. Why isn't that enough for you, why are ****s like you so intolerant of other people. Why shouldn't excited seven years old with face paint go and old people who have supported the club longer than you go and families go or single mums with their boys or foreign interested fans. You must have a serious self esteem issue if you are that embarrassed by it. All those people make up our support and have done for years with out them you would be rattling around wembley . We get these posts after every big match Saints aren't changing we are never going to be a seething mass of ****ed up semi aggressive laddom, we are what we are. The thing I would like to know is what percentage of new fans do people really think we've got, you know the numbers that are ruining it for the real fans, the ones that buy all the tickets first stopping the true hard core from buying tickets, what is it 50%, 25%? People go on about this all the time now they must have a figure, so what is it. I would say about 1?
  5. Because the beds are ****.
  6. I think he was a Queen of the South fan.
  7. Footballers don't like them because it make your cock shrink and tattoos run.
  8. He is no more repetitive than the people calling for Cortese's return and he has a point as well, Cortese is lauded on here as some sort of football administering genius but hasn't had a job in football since. So the people who might hire him don't think he's that great, you know the people whose money he will be spunking.
  9. I think Cortese probably doesn't give two ****s about us.
  10. Sims didn't do much when he came on, shot his one on one straight at the keeper.
  11. I didn't see him mucking about afterwards, he went straight down the tunnel. What is annoying is right at the end when we needed a good delivery he couldn't (nor could Cedric) beat the first man and a free kick from a decent position came to nothing.
  12. It seems that you have to be bitter and narcissistic to be a football historian.
  13. WTF does that mean? Do you mean we will only come back up with a better board or better players? And this thing that you cant quite explain but you know that we should do or else we are ****ed forever, how do you know we won't do it.
  14. People keep saying this, but they never say the reasons why. No one knows what we are going to be like next season and you over state our possible downfall whilst overplaying the likely success of Brighton and Bournemouth. Just looking at the tables and 7 out of the last 10 years at least one team has come straight back up. Now if it's us, Stoke and WBA that go down we have at least an equal chance with those teams to be the one that comes back up. The relegated teams from the last ten years that haven't come back up; Derby, Portsmouth, Birmingham, Blackpool, Blackburn, Bolton, Wolves, Wigan, Reading, Fulham, Cardiff, QPR, Norwich, Aston Villa, Hull, Middlesborough and Sunderland. At least two and maybe three of those teams are coming up this season. That leaves a list of teams that shouldn't frighten us.
  15. Yes its straight choice between the two. I see Man U will have £15 tickets for under 25s next season in a certain part of the ground for all games, something every football club should do.
  16. Exactly, you cant be absolute about these things. My son was born in Kent and has copied his dad and that's natural and so what about the kids of glory hunters who are just following their dads. I feel sorry for them having to explain themselves all their lives, but are they really glory hunters. My mate a Man U fan takes his boy to Brighton games to try and make him support his local team. I had a list of teams my boy could have followed, the saints, a grand dad's team or a local team, I might have stretched to West Ham. But there was no way I would have let him support Chelsea, Spurs etc and I would have staged and intervention if he started liking any northern club. But he went to few saints games when he was 5 and that was it, hooked from day 1.
  17. Yesterday was hard to take I stopped listening and went off to the supermarket to get the food in. The whole way around I was thinking about the team and walking round like I had lost a family member. We cocked it up big time, but so what we will come back. When I got back my 7 year old had changed into his full kit and had a Saints flag draped around him, his is naive and hopeful. But that's what football is about for me, forget the reality of the current premier league there is always the hope that we can do something.
  18. Nothing has changed it's still the club that represents Southampton and it was always a club that was owned by someone. This idea that it's all gone to **** because we are now a business, is nonsense, the club has always been run on these lines. If you want some cute club run on the back of money from a couple of local business men then we wouldn't be anywhere near the premier league and your grand daughters wouldn't be interested in us. Good times don't last and bad times don't last. But I'm glad I'm a proper football fan rather than a southern Man U or Liverpool fan because they are ******s and every football fan thinks they are ******s.
  19. Good spot, it does confuse the situation because people have adopted it as the threshold when VAR gets involved. That's not how FIFA have set it up, VAR is specifically used for checking goals, penalties and red cards when they occur and when they should be given. What we have now is reffing by slo-mo. When people claim 'it wasn't a clear and obvious mistake' what they mean is it would have been difficult to see in real time. Whereas FIFA are saying it is a clear and obvious error because you can see it was in this slo-mo. And this is where the conflict and confusion is.
  20. Would young people vote for Channon and Ball.
  21. Yet the words 'clear and obvious' are not mentioned once in FIFA's explanation of VAR https://football-technology.fifa.com/en/media-tiles/video-assistant-referees-var/ The term was used early on and I don't know where it came from but it is confusing the issue. The FIFA guidance is clear and It doesn't take long to read, but professional pundits and commentators obviously haven't bothered. After one of these incidents journalists get excited straight afterwards, then by the next morning they calm down and generally say it was implemented properly, presumably after actually reading the rules.
  22. People keep quoting clear and obvious as though that's want VAR is about, VAR is used to assist the ref for goals, penalties, straight red cards and mistaken identity. For penalties it's used to see if one shouldn't have been given or if one should have been given. It was used correctly as the rules stand.
  23. I'm sorry that doesnt prove what you are saying. It might be the case but a loose line in the Daily Mail isn't proof.
  24. Brilliant, you call him a muppet but you can't type five words without having to go back and edit it. Just saying.
