If people don't believe that there is a symbiotic relationship betwen some clubs and some journalists then they probably think that we live is a world where journalist didn't hack a dead girls phone or pay cops for stories. Football sells papers, stories from big club are a currency, so its not a great leap of faith to take you to a place where journo's pump out stories that benefit the a big club in return for better access to the big club. It doesn't even have to be an expressed relationaship, although I'm sure there are plenty that are. Why wouldn't a paper help a big club, papers are commercial beings and journalists have to remain useful. And why would a big commercial organisation like a football club not use papers to present a story that suits them, every organisation in the world does it.

We all know and understand why RL has left, but the fact that a player has left means that the first clause can not state "we will not sell until the new manager is in'. IMO it is a statement used to simply explain the current situation, not setting up wriggle room. We all agree that facts speak louder than words and at the moment there does not seem to be any developments in any other transfer. I didn't catch the name but I cought the tail end of a report complaining that no one in the club is answering their calls. What more can the club do.

Are people really so stupid as to believe players buy into chairmans dreams. A progressive club helps to cement a negotiation but it is the quality of the contract, ie wages and length, that seal the deal. So people please grow up we would be facing the same problems with NC at the helm. He might deal with them in a different way but one thing is for sure that he would not have solved them by selling a new dream alone.

Also can anyone find a thread when someone seriously said 'we've got our club back'. There is so much bed wetting going on, 'we are a club in chaos/crisis/meltdown', when in reality we have lost a manager and one player, this is all part of the game and something that any club has to deal with from time to time. What is becoming apparent to me is that the whole level of discontent in the club is not NC going or even MP going its the level of wages. It seems that NC didn't sell the boys the dream of CL football more the dream of more dosh in the future, moving up the leagues enabled NC to do that. He then brought in GR and DO on bigger wages, probably with the promise to the other boys that their wages will be brought in line. This hasn't happened and now footballers are doing what footballers always do, agitate for a move or a better contract, they don't really mind which. Apart from the lure of Liverpool for Lambert and CL for some others. The new board good help by looking at the wage structure, but these contacts were all set up by NC.

It's amazing that the playoffs have been going on for so long, most football fans have experienced the play offs for more time than they haven't. They were devised to keep alive the season for more teams and they work.

Sometimes you have to side with devil to get what you want. Derby are one of many teams that I now hate due to their play off victory over us. It's what football fans do collect a bunch of teams that have slighted their team along the way. Who still hates Everton, I know I do. I don't care about the way their fans acted against us, I still care that the beat us on pens. HR is one man, who I don't give a **** about either way.
