Is there a decent vintage of meths you could recommend then?!

1. Create a better dialogue with the fans - Fair enough, as long as it doesn't get to 'fan on board' state of affairs. 2. Ditto with businesses in the area (note only about a third of Boxes seem to be taken compared to 100% in early years) - I would say that's more to do with the economy than Cortese's dialogue with local business. 3. Get rid of the 15 min parking charge - Tediously small. 4. Convert back to stripes - I just don't get this. I'm 36, when I was first supporting Saints we didn't have stripes til I was 12! 3 kits in a row, spanning 10 years and we didn't have stripes! What's the fuss?? 5. Review some of the previous new signings eg Forren, Mayuka, possibly Ramirez and Osvaldo - Every club in the land makes bad signings, the new CEO will too. As long as you get more right than wrong, you're doing a good job. 6. Assist with supporters travel expenses for some longer away games - Agree that the use of the money from the Prem was a farce, but are we getting it every year? 7. Get rid of the £2.00 charge for pay on the day tickets - Saint Garrett has nailed this on the head. 8. Embrace the clubs history. Forge stronger links with Ex Saints individually and the Ex Saints organisation - Agreed. 9. Review possibilities of Concerts at St Mary's - Not particularly important and could only happen in the off season and may jeopardise our fantastic playing surface. 10. Continue progress with the Academy and continue the progress the previous Chairman was able to achieve - Agreed. 11. ...and probably most important..keep Katharina Liebherr sweet' - Agreed.

I'm half way through the 2nd book and although the (Pompey) fans protesting outside the training ground is a massive giveaway it's Kitson, plus the move to Stoke is pretty evident - there is also so much that doesn't fit. As others have alluded to, it must be collection of stories and not just the ones he actually says are his mates. Things like won trophies and played for a big club in Premier? Kitson's won a Div 1 medal and that's it. I wouldn't say Reading and Stoke are big clubs, just like I wouldn't say we are either.

Spot on. The only thing you're missing is FF's agenda against the club. If these players want to leave and play in Lge 1, they will have to forgo the rest of their current contracts - on wages they're not likely to get close to ever again. Barnard for instance is reportedly on £14k a week, he'd get maybe £3k at best in Lge 1. Why not sit a year out, earn the money the club has promised to pay you and get another club next year. Whilst it's about playing football, it's also about earning a living in a short career. Especially if you're a lower league player like these 3. They all contributed to our rise and have been rewarded as per the contracts we agreed, I'd do exactly the same thing.

Not sure. Think I saw him on the common with his dog a few years ago. Presume it was him as the dog was giving him the runaround and he slipped on his @ss twice.
-
Agreed. I thought he had a very good game and showed some fantastic touches. Also showed a little naivety at times though and Fonte gave him a bollocking a couple of times for being out of position in the 2nd half. Still a bit raw in places, but for 18 - looking like a fantastic prospect.
-
I'd love him to get the job. Claridge talks a lot of sense about Football League matters, but Sid Lowe talks eloquently about La Liga and I don't expect him to be getting a job there anytime soon. After watching that doc on Claridge's ill fated management of Weymouth and having this length of time out of the game - it could only result in a lot of laughs.

When was the last time anyone saw Gazza play 90 mins? Is Davis injured, or could he have been promoted to 2nd choice after good showings in training? He should be better than he was last season, at least.

If the team continues to be successful, then plaudits will rightly surround Pochettino and there will no doubt be suitors. Will be another test for Cortese, along with other teams eyeing up our young talent. However, should we lose him - I'm confident Cortese can replace him with the right man to continue the good work. He's done alright so far! I wouldn't mind betting he has a good idea who he wants to replace Pochettino already, should it happen.

Held in high esteem, Dr Sid. This article shows why...

A little bit of speed is just the ticket... -
I put on the comments section the immortal phrase: 'Jog it in - rest when you get there!'

Quality article here on the Guardian: http://www.theguardian.com/sport/football-cliches/2013/oct/31/talking-language-sunday-league-football Anyone who's played Sat/Sun park football will appreciate this.

What's a shoe-in? Are you advocating giving the players a kicking? http://grammarist.com/spelling/shoo-in/

I'm not talking about looking back with bitterness. I'm talking about having things that you would change, this acts as a reminder that you've made mistakes in the past. I'm happy with the life I have and person I am. I agree completely that the mistakes we've made, make us the people we are. However, you can't keep going making the same mistakes. Some regret (although I guess regret is too strong a word, maybe acknowledgement would be better) serves as a lesson and reminds you not to make the same mistakes.
-
Both of these. I think I've pretty much 'put right' everything I want to, but I could have got here a lot quicker with the first one and having to travel whilst working is still enjoyable, but do slightly envy people who have had a real good stint. Oh yeah, and I wouldn't have started smoking either, and probably would curtail my drinking. Plus some ex's. Seems a lot - but people who say they have no regrets, have either taken no risks in their life, or not learnt enough lessons. Saying you have no regrets pretty much says you've never made a mistake in your life - it's not being honest with yourself (IMO).

Charities & the sh!ttest sponsorship effort you’ve ever seen?
Saint Mikey replied to Spudders's topic in The Lounge
3rd time I've reposted this link since I started it, so it's obviously not just me that feels the same way: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?44373-Charity#.UmetkBCrEtc Charity will completely combust if it carries on this way. If what Tokyo says is true, this is just another sad indictment of the charity sector and pretty much sums up all that is wrong with it. -
I went to the Warehouse Project in Manchester a few weeks ago. Closest you'll get to these type of raves, nothing like it in London. Reminded me of the Worldances I went to in '96/97/98. Get up there if you want to re-live it!

How long can roy ignore our other English players?
Saint Mikey replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
Shaw has got two exceptional players in front of him (Cole, Baines), plus quite a few others that have more experience and are decent (Gibbs, Bertrand, Rose). He's going to have play well for us and for the U21s to go to the WC ahead of all these players. There'll be plenty of time for him anyway. -
I've heard it's amazing there. 50p a pint and Nigella Lawson serves burgers topless...
-
What league are we in? Junior 1?!
-
I went there for the re-opening night a few weeks ago on a Stag Do, it was quality. Back to the raving in the 90s. You'll easily get tickets outside if you change your mind.

After the game, get yourself to the Warehouse Project - just down the road from the Stadium. Perfect way to celebrate a win v Utd...

Defensive record breakers - 2 years running?
Saint Mikey replied to jawillwill's topic in The Saints
Like anything in footy, you need a bit of luck too. We should have conceded a pen at Norwich, we were lucky a gold plated chance fell to Collins for West Ham and god knows how we kept a clean sheet yesterday - the post and Boruc saving us. It hasn't all been down to exceptional defending, although we obviously have done well in that area.
