To be fair I rarely hear the goal music until celebrations have died down anyway perhaps you need to celebrate more to drown it out? ;-)

Would have taken an away point from Derby before ko as their home form has been decent. Things to be learnt from today ... JC is not a right back! Jos and Fonte looked immense for 99% of the game bar the goal and some of our build up play was sublime! The only thing I would say is perhaps its worth us reverting to getting chances to Lambert as his finishing is high class :-D Overall happy and massssssssive game now on Tuesday! Well played Saints ... as for Alpine would you kindly stop writing us off everytime we conceed a goal. Its alright to be pessamistic ... we're saints fans but come on chum no need to be damn right depressive in the middle of some of the best form we've had in many a year even Man Utd drop points to teams around them you know! They win their titles by consistently beating the crap at the mid to lower end of the table and not losing to other forerunners.

Seriously why would a business man like NC sack someone who he could have gotten compensation for if this was true?
-
I remember he scored 2 goals against us in a friendly at home to Stoke one year. Was a massive suprise to everyone there seeing as how he'd just come off the back of the least effective loan period ever with us!

You would think that with all the incest going on down the road that deal is enough to bankrupt them again in next to no time ;-)

Saints V Watford.4- 0. Post match chat!!

I love this team ... That is all :-D -
Harding for me. He is IMO better defensively and doesn't get pulled inside, very rarely allows a winger the freedom of St Marys to get in a cross either. Decent going forward without being outstanding but does offer a good partnership and understanding with AL. Can't see Fox's future at LB without a significant improvement, perhaps better as a winger?
-
Think its time to take off Connolly for De Ridder move Lallana up front with Lambo and get back to 4 in the middle.
-
Hate to be all Matt Le Rainmain but he wasn't voted the leagues best left back. Left his man both times for goals yesterday. I thought he was average going forward and didn't work well with either wide player in the same way Dan Harding does. Looks to have a decent cross on him and hopefully he can get further up the picth than wanging in balls from 30yrds out. Defensively I am hoping for a massive improvement. Played too narrowly leaving the wingers acres of space to run into. Seems to panic alot yesterday in the same way Dickson does. Can only get better really however first full game in a crap back 4 so we shall see!

Really if they want the League cup to be of any value they should set the same rules as the JPT where you need to have (I think) 5 or 6 of your regular starting line up in the team.
-
I wonder if this is us being clever worrying BCFC into the possibility they could get nothing for him in January by signing pre contract terms. IMO 5m + for him is a bit steep but none the less a decent player and would do a good job for us.
-
Chaplow off perhaps Lambert off and Schnierdelin on and defend like hell for 10 mins?!
-
Shush! This is still Saints! Sounds like an excellent first half and another good DC finish. Seems to say "What do you want with another striker?" Keep it up Saints its so pretty seeing you on top of a league!
-
Durham win coming up then ;-)
-
I wonder if he's going for the record number of clubs who consider him their worst ever player having been voted as such by Grimsby and Lewes last season?!
-
I recently read somewhere Ephraim was linked with a move to us possibly in p/e with puncheon. Make of that what you will. ;-)
-
You do talk a massive amount of ******** don't you?! This is a bunch of idiots jumping on the bandwagon of a bad situation.
-
Nice compliments there can't say I thought their support sounded all that good from over in Block 36!
-
For all the worry over his first half "moment" I think its important to mention he only got into trouble due to an awful pass from Dan Harding. It wasn't the only time Harding almost played us into trouble today. Thought Martin looked very good. Second half reminded me alot of Chris Baird, evaluated the situation and calmy stuck it out of play where necessary. Solid in the air as well. Don't see why he couldn't be a regular in this division if he continues to play like that. How the linesman gave a pen against him for that though was beyond me! Think most defenders would struggle to get a hand out of the way that quickly I'm sure the attacker didn't even think thats where the ball was about to go!

Bit different though Mr Rain Man. Puncheon is expected to bring us in a million ish (including Gorks) whereas Mills is being done a favour in order to no doubt ship him off on a free.
-
Both fair points and I'd be more than happy to see the back of Punch esp if we end up with Gorks as well! Seems a bloody good deal all round well if you count Punch playing 6 good games before getting in a strop ;-)
-
Not sure we'd allow Puncheon to play on trial. More likely to be some nobody like the people who played at Eastleigh the other night.
-
IIRC we brought Beattie for 1m with the cash from selling Davies to Blackburn and then swapped Davies for Ostenstad (either with us or them getting some small fee as well) a season or so later.
-
Brought mine today rocked up about 3:30 three tickets in the Kingsland/ Northam corner no troubles. I reckon we'll look for about 25-26k home supporters which is not too shabby for a game on sky!
