  1. Given that's what Puel said would happen if he didn't get used today that's hardly an insight.
  2. Yes, he will be here next season.
  3. Difficult when he's not on the bench.
  4. Ha ha ha. One of the funniest posts in ages. Why do you try and deny it? Be open and honest and stop being in denial, its not good for your health.
  5. Apart from the ones he did not play in? McCarthy has played 2 LC games and Harry Lewis played 3 in the FA Cup.
  6. If he had kept his legs together he would have saved the first (second).
  7. No he isn't, FriendlySaint is entirely justified in his view. All three goals were eminently savable (and that's not the first time this season it has been true of FF). While it may be fanciful to expect any keeper to have saved all three, it is certainly reasonable to expect an average PL keeper (and FF is currently nowhere near average in the PL) to have saved any one or two of the three, and on a very good day all three.
  8. Apparently we are "preparing a bid" for Pontus Jansson (Torino/Leeds). Never (previously) heard of him, but apparently has just signed permanent deal with Leeds (was on loan) which comes into effect in the Summer. Would seem unlikely that he would transfer to us. [Daily Express]
  9. Very good blog, enjoyed the read immensely. The picture of Forster is very telling, how could he fail to stop the header from Zlat? People seem to be saying that he could not be faulted for the 3rd but really it was probably the worst of the three. I know it was point blank but he is ****ing huge and it went straight at him, but somehow he managed to get every part of himself out of the way. Even Wayne Shaw would have got that one.
  10. He was back in the last game against Everton. Seems those who think Caceres needs a game or two for the u23s before he plays will be disappointed. Suspect he will debut at Watford. Don't think he would have been on the bench at Wembley if he was not physically ready and preferred to Gardos.
  11. Seems to be learning how to talk without boring the pants off his listeners. Not the usual soporific drivel, but still not exactly motivational.
  12. There were a lot of empty seats everywhere, surprising really. Over 4k down on capacity.
  13. Just back. Brilliant performance, especially to come back from two down. Gabbi is superb, just a pity that he is not quite there yet in terms of fitness, he looked ****ged when he was subbed. Really don't think we missed VvD today, except perhaps as a threat in their box. Two huge mistakes, one each from Romeu (who otherwise was superb) and Prowsey (who had a decent game) lead to the goals. Jack Stephens looked very calm and in control today, even his bad looking lunge that resulted in the yellow was really only because he had been tripped just before and was off balance. OK, Yoshida and Jack should probably have done better for the 2nd, but we shouldn't have been put in that position in the first place. Only down side today was the usual suspect, how much longer do we have to put up with not having a save making keeper? Please can we give Hassen a try. Well done lads, you were mostly great today and made me proud to be a Saint again.
  14. 65-66 season subs were introduced(one per team).
  15. Straight talking Scot. Nothing wrong with anything he says, could be more diplomatic but all the better for not being a modern day yes man. One of the nicest blokes you could meet and remains a Saints fan, shame he's not at the Black Bear any more. It is poor how the Club treats former heroes, even Le Tiss and Benali used to be treated badly.
  16. Just says he wants the result to go the way that helps Everton get into Europe next season. Seems a sensible point of view from him. he is hardly going to say he wants us to win is he? The only irony is that he seems to think now that being in Europa League is a good thing, pity he didn't make sure we got into it (as opposed to qualifying rounds) last season.
  17. Great read, Mick's thoughts on the EFL Final and other things Saints related and otherwise: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/02/23/mick-channon-football-legend-racehorse-trainer-maverick-southamptons/
  18. Fairly sure it's only some idle speculation posted here just like the suggested friendly in Alicante which I posted as a suggestion and which now seems to have legs.
  19. Does it affect Charlie's shoulder as well?
  20. His name is Barry Gabiadini The hottest thing out of Napoli For those that have a problem with Barry, Manor works as well.
  21. Alicante (according to OR). Maybe we will have a friendly with Hercules u21s or something.
  22. Davis will play and will captain the team (unless injured). Whether he plays DM alongside Romeu or in a more advanced role is another matter. If he plays DM he will not get "brushed aside".
  23. Great, so our only centre back (current or expected) to be impacted by your vote would be Virgil. Yoshida - Japan, Caceres - Uruguay, Stephens - England, Gardos - Romania (not currently in the Schengen area).
  24. No logo on envelope. Return address Devon. Not signed for. Mine arrived this morning.
