  1. Getting a point away in Europa was all that was needed If we had got a win it would have been a bonus. If we had lost it would not have been a big deal. Win at home and draw away and we will win the group, we only have to come 2nd to go through. Of course having fully fit squad against Leicester is more important. Surprised anyone cannot see that. Would have been different if we had not won against Praha or if Inter were not chucking their games. However just one conspiracy note, is it possible that Fonte and Bertrand were not left at home for disciplinary reasons? Though if so you might have expected Forster as well. I don't actually think this is the case but it does seem odd that some of our players were pictured rather the worse for wear after the Wet Sham game (Stevo was not of course, probably just carrying a slight knock).
  2. As far as I can see Inter has only 4 players from their 1st team that are not available for EL. They could put out a better team if they wanted to. But if they don't we should be looking to win home and away.
  3. No, I don't think they are whiter than white, but there is nothing in this sting operation that shows that he has done anything wrong at all. Like others he has been targeted because of his association with slimey agent and former Skate Scott McGarvey. They have met with as many of his close associates as possible in the hope that some mud will stick, as it has with the Barnsley manager already who has admitted taking a bung and been sacked. It just shows that some people who are in the game know the tricks to circumvent the rules. If Black has been involved in a dodgy deal or so then he deserves everything he gets, but from what has been published there is no evidence that he has. However, the old adage, no smoke without fire is particularly apt. I hope they weed out the slimeballs that have done such deals, but I suspect the real villains (no pun intended) will slip the net, while a few not too bright individuals will take the rap. We all believe Arry is as bent as they come but so far nothing has been pinned on him. Black has so far been proven only to be very stupid, nothing else, and this is why Saints may have a problem getting rid, they can probably only do what Derby have done with Pearson until there is further investigation by the FA or Black confesses to an actual wrong doing.
  4. Maybe they piped one of Kruger's so called motivational speeches, in my view they are far more soporific than a Puel presser.
  5. As far as I can see, he actually has done nothing wrong. But he has shown that there are ways and means around the rules, with the implication that he could do it or could have done it himself. What is really needed is to find some evidence that someone has actually worked around the rules, that is the real goal here. Black has done nothing more than condone the practice. He is a fool, like BFS, but he is not as far as we know either a criminal or corrupt.
  6. Tosh
  7. Big Mac and fries.
  8. No, injured in Feyenoord preseason game July 2015. Predicted then to be out 7 months (all season), suffered some sort of set back preseason. Doesn't seem to have travelled to Israel, Stephens is clearly backup for this game. Would expect an u23 run out for Florin soon.
  9. World leaders arriving in Jerusalem for Friday's funeral. Expect security to be ramped up a few levels.
  10. Has been back in training for a while now, must be close to being available, surprised he did not play for u23s last week.
  11. Ones that even Jon Moss cannot disallow.
  12. Am I missing something? Antonio normally pkays on the right, so how is Cedric/Martina relevant? I would imagine Bertrand will take care of Antonio (I think Antonio has played once left side this season).
  13. West Brom supporters must be well upset
  14. or more likely /5...
  15. No Isgrove either. Is he injured? Not making the first team squad and not in the PL2 squad either. Just seems odd. Not making a case for him, just surprised that we still have him but he doesn't seem to be getting match time.
  16. Watching the video before seeing your comment he actually looks like he is not the usual "blonde midget", but a bit taller than some. Hope so, he is only just 16 anyway, so time for a growth spurt yet.
  17. Given how often he is injured that is akin to "always".
  18. Pele (not Pelle) was Cape Verdean, though he was born in Portugal. Is it true he is currently playing for Totton? Tadanari Lee was banned for driving after he was caught speeding three times in three months (silly boy). http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2330250/Southampton-striker-Tadanari-Lee-banned-driving.html It may be that he was racing to get away from his biggest and bestest fan, Mongboard Chief Turkish.
  19. Who the hell is Nigel Ranger? :-D
  20. Zurich is about the same and also still nice rail journey. Southampton to Zurich via Amsterdam. Doing the rail part next week (not to get to Milan for the game sadly).
  21. Maybe because they were the only two to be asked.
  22. So most people miss the point. The point is that Quinn is talking about a model that has not been in place for 2 or 3 years now. Thus the article is a load of rubbish It shows what so many seem to have a problem.with, that the model Cortese put in place, whether good or bad is no longerbthe model and the original Southampton Way no longer exists. A new one may well exist but bears little relationship to the original. The current model no longer relies to a significant extent on the Academy, but instead on replacing players that leave with younger cheaper models. Not saying wherher this is good or bad just thay Quinn has demonstrated in his article that he has no understanding of how the club currently wworks. The Club has moved on since Cortese left but people like Quinn don't appear to have noticed.
  23. Looks like Gardos is close to being an option as well now. Sort of game where he could be given an opportunity, unless we play him in an u23 game first.
  24. Turkish will be in melt down mode when reads this. Its like Quinn is a member of the Cult of Cortese. The issue that Quinn misses though is that the Academy conveyor belt has not worked for thr lsst 2 or 3 years, the model Quinn is talking about requires 2 or 3 new young players to come through each year. But it isn't happening amy more. Aparr from Targett none have really come throug now for 3 years (JWP broke through 4 or is it 5 years ago now (and is still not a regular first pick). The Southampton Way referred to in this article is no more. It is deceased.
  25. Apparently joined in May 2014, mentioned in this article about Ralph saying we don't need to sell our top talents (LOL): http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11700/9330275/transfer-news-southampton-have-no-need-to-cash-in-on-top-talents Whether he actually works for Southampton or his consultancy is contracted to us is another matter, but he has been around the scene for a couple of years or so.
