Le Tissier Snubbed ticket for United game ?
VectisSaint replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Seems like a complete non-issue as far as I can see. Also shows that football legends sometimes should keep their mouths shut and bask in their past glories instead of making cheap political points in a rag. I have great regard for MLT as a player an dall he did for Saints, but he is just showing again that he is naive, similarly to his comments in his book. I wonder how many tickets other legends have requested and been granted, people without the financial clout or the means as a Sky commentator that MLT has. I bet Ron Davies hasn't phoned up and expected 10 tickets for him and his mates, or Nick Holmes or even Mick. The article comes over to me as showing that MLT is just trying to score points against NC, as he explains in the last paragraph, it is down to the bad blood the two have. I would prefer it if MLT and NC were mates and all was hunky dory but it certainly won't upset me if they aren't. I'm not sure I believe all the stuff in the article about the person responsible not getting back to him because they were busy with the Guly transfer, but if it is even a bit true then quite honestly I am glad they got their priorities right, because it is more important for th future success of the club to get Guly signed than it is giving tickets to an ex-player and TV pundit so that his mates can come to a game. Sorry if this offends some, but quite honestly MLT is making himself look silly again IMHO. -
The headline is still complete nonsense though: "Adam Lallana returning from for Southampton injury sooner than expected" unless this is one of those games where you are asked to put the words in the right order to form a sentence. Thought the Grauniad was bad but the Echo Daily takes it to a whole new level

Drop him

I think the strategy was dropped when they realised it would mean having Bradley Wright-Offside back.

Confirmed in the local rag up here as well, main headline on the horadings outside the paper shop where I get my lunchtime sandwich in West Swindon. Maybe Reading have money because they are just about to sell Antonio - pure speculation

We've won 3 of our last 4 away, don't see any reason to fear a string of away games. More concerned that we need to win our home league games.

Adkins said he (and Hammond) expected back sooner rather than later. Didn't give the impression that it was too bad to me. We can't really consider ourselves promotion material if we can't deal with losing 1 player - I'm not sure we can't deal with it, but if we can't then it makes a mockery of those saying we don't need to strengthen.

Spot on Darren, feck 2nd place, fed up with second best being good enough, and how would we ever square being runners up to Brighton anyway? To achieve this the best result for us today would be for Brighton & Peterboro to draw, we might still be 2nd but that way both contenders/rivals drop points to us assuming of course we do the biz.

No. I suggest you support Manure like most of your close neighbours. Travel is easy, every home game you can lift share.

Southampton vs Man U- Australian edition.

Why are you sitting on your laptop? Surely it is difficult to access the keyboard in that position. If I sat on my laptop it would break -
Southampton vs Man U- Australian edition.

Why? What is the connection between the Isle of Wight and Hampshire (apart from sharing a police force) -
My sources tell me that Oxo is taking stock of the situation.

There's a good chance lots of people will be asking where Rooney/Ferdinand/Berbatov are during the match. Good chance one, two or more will not be playing. Depends how seriously Fergie takes the game. Rooney especially has to be a doubt. Good chance too that even if Berbatov does play no-one will notice him :-) Just hope we put up a decent show against them, doubt we will win but really can't be bothered to go. Don't have a problem with the cup just would have preferred someone a bit different or more interesting. Would have been interesting to see us play Arsenal, for instance since they are a much better footballing side and would have allowed us to play to our strengths. We will probably be put out by a goal from United in the 10th minute of Fergie time, or a dubious penalty - is Webb refereeing? Good luck at the game, hope your nipper enjoys...

With no accounts available there is still nothing to suggest that the Liebherr family are not bankrolling the club in any way. The large crowds may not be covering the large wages.

But if he gets on his bike will he be in the building when he gets on it or does he have to catch a bus and do you need a ticket if you take your bike on a bus like you do on a train?

Oldham V Saints - Post Match Celebration Thread
VectisSaint replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Terrible effect that a cup game has on our league form. I guess if we hadn't played Blackpool on Saturday we would have scored 10 tonight ;-) Great result, the wheels are on the bus and the whole team is in the building -
Saints vs Manchester Utd - 4th Round FA Cup Draw
VectisSaint replied to saint_bert's topic in The Saints
******, I looked everywhere to see when the draw was. So I missed it, what a boring draw, would have been good to have someone different than Manure again. Oh well all the plastics will be there I suppose, I know I won't be. -
I suspect even Guly could get the meaning of "Taxi for Do Prado", the Portuguese is vaguely similar after all: "Táxi para Do Prado" I do hope the **** on Sky has stopped calling him Julie by now

Saints 2 - 0 Blackpool - Post match reaction
VectisSaint replied to Yorkshire Saint's topic in The Saints
Please can someone tell the **** on Sky it is Guly, not Julie!! -
Always clear he had the skill, but what do you expect when coached by George Burley. The whole squad looked so unfit after a GB pre-season, and Hamill needed a proper coach. Now he has that he is showing what he can do. Liverpool do not bring up poor players, but poor coaches can make good players look bad, and GB was one of the best at that. Never had a clue once Snodin departed.

If you're as good as Crainey you should be playing for Saints. Have you seen him play this year? He looks very comfortable in the PL. Probably won't play today as he played in midweek and is first choice. Still we can look forward with relish at seeing the premiership stars that are Ormerod and Euell LOL I suspect instead of singing songs about Blackpool we will instead have the usual renditions of songs about our pals down the M27. Pathetic really.

So in fact after FA Cup games we were unbeaten. So lets have a long FA cup run. What I recall was that we were poor after JPT games, the difference with them was that we had to always shuffle the team about a lot more for the JPT because so many players were cup-tied. If I recall correctly for the FA Cup there were fewer players we had to leave out, so we were able to play a more consistent team.

Makes perfect sense, competition/backup for Lambert. Connolly, Barnard and Doble are not competition for RL, they are different types of striker (smaller, more mobile, good when playing one big 'un and one small 'un). Whether Priskin would want to be 2nd choice behind RL remains to be seen , depends how hungary he is to redicover his old form :-) Also suspect it depends on the outcome of the Guly transfer, since although he is really a MF he seems to be enjoying playing as 2nd striker to RL, and at the moment in preference to Barnard.
