Has to be Best (George not Leon) (never saw Matthews or Pele play n the flesh) Best Saints player, Channon for me.

It is an emergency loan, they don't have any players they can shoe-horn in. On their bench last night they had players who have serious injuries, Lockwood could not get his boot on, they were afraid he had broken his toe. They have a catalogue of injuries, and a very small squad. This is the purpose of an emergency loan, it doesn't say anything about the quality of the player, just says they would have played short or played a very inexperienced youngster if the loan deal had not happened. The most you can say is that Mills was probably the best option that was available in an emergency. Unless he gets injured its good news all around, he gets experience which may come in handy when he comes back in 4 weeks time.

That would be right, thats why it is an emergency loan. You have an emergency loan because you do not have any available players in the position due to injuries or whatever.

Upcoming fixtures against Tanzanian u21s next Tuesday and Bournemouth on Nov 9th. I wonder why they are playing these games behind closed doors. Surely for pro players playing in front of a crowd, however small, is part of the game, and essential to development. I'm sure Tanzania U21s would pull in a couple of dozen spectators for such a prestige international friendly

Bloody right, how dare overseas investors buy English football clubs, send all the Johnny Foreigners back where they belong. Aaah, hang on a minute...

God knows where I got Wyndham Place from, I meant Bedford Place

As in the one in Salisbury Street/Wyndham Place that I referred to in message #3.

Nowadays I tend to use the Car Park in Salisbury Street/Wyndham Place. Its a bit of a walk to SMS (across East Park, down by Solent Uni and across the bridge), but is convenient for coming down from Winchester and also for getting out after the game back onto The Avenue. Used to park down by the Anchor & Hope (which is no more) but it takes longer to get back to The Avenue from there than it does with the walk back to Salisbury Street.

Seems a few people think they have a great home record, perhaps they did last season, before yesterday it was P5 W2 D2 L1, F9 A6. Hardly awe inspiring. Our own home record has been awful this season, ours reads P6 W2 D2 L2, notice the similarity? Our little cousins down the road have the best home record, P6 W5 D1 L0

Might not have had the desired effect: Adkins: Get back on, don't you know you are Pele Lambert: Oh noes, you mean I am really an average midfielder/centre back last heard of playing for Falkirk, thats it I give up

Received a reply to my complaint (not abusive). They had no idea what the problam was, though of course by the time it was sent the issue had been resolved. My follow up reply was a tad more abusive than my original message.

This is the point, KD has to be flexible and decide the best option. In my opinion this is one of the main weaknesses of his game, he is predictable. Play the short options and make the oppposition push up to counter, then play the long option when it is a better choice. Be alert and flexible, if KD can learn that then it will transform our game. But he needs also to be able to communicate effectively with the defenders so that they are alert to the options.

Wasnt this dude supposed to be interested in us at some point ?

...a monstrous carbuncle -
Maybe AP paid Saints. Nothing in the report says which way the settlement went. (Just being pedantic, I'm sure we paid him)

Doesn't say much for Tony Mowbray then if a PC Warrior could achieve what he couldn't. I was not surprised that WGS could not achieve much at Boro last season, I thought he would need a preseason to instill the fitness and work ethic into a side. But he does seem to have lost his way now. We look back on his time at Saints with rose-tinted specs because we were moderately successful, but I suspect it was all unravelling at the time he left anyway. I enjoyed his time with us, but I suspect he was in the right place at the right time and is really very one-dimensional and has been found out.

http://www.nike.com/nikefootball/academy/about?locale=en_GB Details of the Nike Academy can be found here (took some finding Google came up with a aite that was crap, but eventually found this link on about the last page). Academy is for unsigned aspiring young players, supported by Nike and Premier League. They played several games last season and now a new intake is on board and hoping to impress. By the way they lost one game 8-1 last season so perhaps 7-1 isn't the walkover we think it is. Some of the players earned pro contracts last term. Profiles of the players involved can be found on the site, and it is all headed up by Huw Jennings. Wouldn't surprise me if Huw hasn't recommended us to look at one or two of the youngsters.

These things tend not to be back dated, it would be silly to include orders from a game last week in stats from 2008-9 season.

Gone but not forgotten or perhaps forgotten but not gone would be more accurate.

Well done to KD, deserved. Now Fabio, how about Brett Ormerod
-
What a great idea. Drop Lambert after he scores 2 pens. Lets try our other strikers, Connolly injured, Barnard, maybe doing time, Ryan Doble, well he has been selected for the Welsh squad so must be ready to lead the line. Any more bright ideas? Suppose we could try playing Butters up front after all he did score a hat-trick for Palace once.

He left, but not soon enough either time.
