  1. Very nearly, would be a tight squeeze. One of the few grounds where I have sat in the dugout on a matchday as manager
  2. Do you mean a street car? Swindon Supermarine away next please
  3. Just read this on Mick Channon's site http://www.mickchannon.tv/news.php Classic Windmill There are often too many classic quotes of the week to keep track on with MRC at times, but his latest gripe cannot go unreported. When discussing Gareth Bale's remarkable hat-trick at the San Siro against Inter Milan last night, it wasn't the Tottenham man's class and ability that was the major talking point, but his nationality that irked the Boss. "What a **** he is! Why does he want to play for Wales?" When informed that Bale was not only born in Cardiff, but that his entire family are Welsh through and through, he followed up his well thought out, reasoned position by asserting, "He started out at Southampton for ****'s sake, he should be qualified for England, otherwise there's no point in these foreigners coming over here, us developing them and then not reaping the rewards." At this stage, Mick was reminded that he could have played for Wales courtesy of his maternal grandmother. This is when the conversation abruptly came to a halt as the former England International stormed out to oversee second lot.
  4. What is Daybreak?
  5. make as few changes as possible, it is always the best policy. The more players play together the better they willl become. Only rest players if they are carrying an injury, that would be my policy. Only exception I might concede is Bart for Davis.
  6. Arse, Prediction League points go down the swanny...
  7. Edric Bates, how can anyone be better value for money than Mr Southampton For players that I saw play probably has to be Alan Ball.
  8. That would be a "wood" then
  9. Exactly, Morgan is the new Matt Oakley, people slag him off who do not understand the role he is asked to play, it was ever thus with Matty as well
  10. What about Redbridge, how many are they bringing?
  11. Lets hope he is OK and wasn't in need of help from any of the pedants on this forum.
  12. Not after 13 games we didn't. Compare at the end of the season and then you might have a point. Last season we had about 5 points after 13 games (may not be exactly right), this season we have 18.
  13. Used to be that teams sacked their manager after they lost to us, as if losing to Saints was a sackable offence.
  14. Skacel hat-trick
  15. We just moved up 2 places, Colchester and Carlisle both equalised
  16. Nigel Howard Adkins is a bigger name than Glenn Judas Hoddle
  17. The costs of decontaminating the ground would make any development unlikely to be worthwhile.
  18. The costs of decontaminating the ground would make any development unlikely to be worthwhile.
  19. Would fit in well playing behind Rooney, should clearly demonstrate our ambition to Wayne when he joins in January
  20. Has to be Best (George not Leon) (never saw Matthews or Pele play n the flesh) Best Saints player, Channon for me.
  21. It is an emergency loan, they don't have any players they can shoe-horn in. On their bench last night they had players who have serious injuries, Lockwood could not get his boot on, they were afraid he had broken his toe. They have a catalogue of injuries, and a very small squad. This is the purpose of an emergency loan, it doesn't say anything about the quality of the player, just says they would have played short or played a very inexperienced youngster if the loan deal had not happened. The most you can say is that Mills was probably the best option that was available in an emergency. Unless he gets injured its good news all around, he gets experience which may come in handy when he comes back in 4 weeks time.

  23. That would be right, thats why it is an emergency loan. You have an emergency loan because you do not have any available players in the position due to injuries or whatever.
  24. Upcoming fixtures against Tanzanian u21s next Tuesday and Bournemouth on Nov 9th. I wonder why they are playing these games behind closed doors. Surely for pro players playing in front of a crowd, however small, is part of the game, and essential to development. I'm sure Tanzania U21s would pull in a couple of dozen spectators for such a prestige international friendly
  25. Bloody right, how dare overseas investors buy English football clubs, send all the Johnny Foreigners back where they belong. Aaah, hang on a minute...
