You believe wrong, last 2 (Tranmere and Brentford), previously lost 0-1 to Swindon. Just shows how bad they have been all season, only 3 wins at home prior to the last 2 games. They have lost at home 11 times. You can keep denying for all you're worth but this really was a game we should have gone all out attacking to win. Maybe we still will, but our slow start was not what was needed tonight. I don't often agree with Alps but tonite he was spot on.

Sure, 5 home wins all season, they are good away but **** at home.

After the Lord Mayor's Show is coming to mind. I'm usually quite positive but this sounds like total dross. Fecking hope Barnard starts the 2nd half. OK, so I was typing while we scored, now I look like a plonker LOL
-
Doesn't he have to be on the pitch first? League's 2nd highest scorer on the bench, very odd.
-
Sky - Saints struggling. Showed the goal, good strike marking non-existent.
-
Happen to agree with Alps, 1 striker, league's 2nd highest scorer on the bench and Connolly not even in the squad. I agree its not totally defensive but neither is it the team you would expect if you were looking to win. Why such a defensive bench? Not really bothered, sure AP knows what he's about.

Greg Chapel?
-
But look at the bench, Mills, Perry, Seaborne, James. Would have preferred to see Barnard playing, after all he is the league's second highest scorer!! Its not too bad, just the initial view I had, we should be going for a win if we really believe we can make the playoffs (not that I do)
-
Seems a bit defensive to me, especially with Barnard on the bench. Thought we had to win. No Connolly either.

I went mental at school sports day when my nipper did well

Don't think he was wearing a string vest was he? I thought it a bit odd that he was not wearing collar & tie, but then again I don't so why should he. In my view his reaction on Sunday was very reasonable, he was clearly delighted, but it was tempered by knowing this was not the real goal. If he had simply gone mental at winning he would have given the impression that this was the be all and end all, which it clearly wasn't. After a while he relaxed and allowed himself to enjoy the moment a bit more, with the hugs, the flag and the cup. Good man, its great to see someone managing our team who has some dignity and respect, and is not just a big mouth.

Actually far from it, it shows that he is dishonest and stupid. He tried to cheat, how is that being honest? -

Did you ask? She may have been shy. -
Au contraire, shows that we still have upper division (PL plastic) fans in my view I hope we always have lower division fans as they are often the real supporters. Don't like mexican waves, but to be honest the game was over as a spectacle and people were looking for something to do. Even I participated, I think for the first time ever (half-heartedly but I did). LOL at the people that think Carlisle ignored it, I think it was the empty seats that did it, when one end of the stadium is empty mexican waves are doomed to failure (so there was a good side to the empty seats after all).
-
Just got back, there were no boos for NC, the boos were for Mawhinney (should have been more boos for the Tory **** given his reaction when we went into Admin) and for the Mexican wave. Anyone who thinks there were boos aimed at Nicola is simply having a laugh and attempting to stir up the ****.

So 2 wallies now, Wally by name, wally by nature. Together with the other wally Samuel these so called football writers really do spout some garbage.

Platini can say what he wants and write dossiers till the cows come home, it won't happen. The (big) clubs are too strong, and UEFA is a non-entity. Not saying it wouldn't be a good thing, but it is not going to be a reality. It would be impossible to police anyway.

The 3rd team could have had the other 20000+ tickets though

Who? (I know really but it just seemed that having no-one reply to a thread about one of our top players was a bit sad). Even Pulis usually results in a few replies.

"RL" and "smart" in the same sentence, not something I ever expected to see. RL is not now and never was smart. He is not the successful businessman that he is hyped up to be. Therefore I would not put anything past him. However, he is no friend of the Mail. -

Thank heavens the JPT journey is over this weekend
VectisSaint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
But 4 of our games are midweek, so I don't believe you are optimistic. we are **** midweek (according to your empirical data) so how can you be optimistic, that must mean by your argument at least 4 games that we won't win. Your incessant whinging would be easier to take if your comments were at least consistent, and backed up by some sort of evidence. Still it helsp to cheer up the day reading some of the humorous stuff that you write By the way, I guess I must have missed the late equaliser on Tuesday cos I thought we got 3 points, clearly we didn't because the players were distracted. -
Even if a club were able to buy a Pompey player they still would not be able to play this season. The transfer window is still closed. The deal here is clearly just to arrange advance payment to Pompey which is usually against the rules, this is not the same as a transfer.

Never get excited Alpine? Some young players were not focused, hardly surprising, unlike you they are excited at the prospect of playing at the home of football in England. In the end we won, 3 points is what counts, sometimes the manner of the victory is not the be all and end all. Anyway, I thought we were **** on midweek games anyway, so couldn't have been anything to do with Wembley according to your "empirical" data -

I want Saints to return to the Prem, but not sure its any more enjoyable being mid table Prem than Top 6 Div3. Actually would be more happy being Top 6 Championship I think.
