Probably because thats what "prevalent" means. "Powerful, dominant, widespread". Therefore ipso facto nearly everyone will agree with the prevalent viewpoint. Of course there will always be a dissenter or two, even if its often just to be different

Nah, when we go up they will go down again, we will miss them as they spiral down the divisions

You've still got Ceefax? No longer exists for some of us.

Should have gone to Iceland

2-1 to Hartlepool now

Not any more, 1-1

I suppose it depends on your definition of instrumental, but I would be shocked if AP was not very influential in the decision, probably recommended and NC would have interviewed (probably interviewed others as well), but in the end AP would have had a huge say. To think that the role of Reed is not connected with AP is naive to say the least, it is very important that you have someone you know and trust working the Academy and bringing the right players through. By the way, you are abslolutely correct that AP and LR did not work together at Charlton, Reed left for Fulham when AP was appointed.
-
Doubt that very much. Suspect AP has been instrumental in bringing Reed in. It is all part of the same business, you cannot just pigeon-hole people in an overall business and expect it to work. NC and AP will have been discussing this for some time, together with Crocker and others. Just because Reed left Charlton when AP was appointed does not mean they don't know each other well. These top coaches in and around London all know each otherl, they link up on training days at England HQ and so on, probably play golf together (pure speculation on my part there of course but easy to imagine). Football coaching at the pro level is a very tight knit community, especially at a regional level, attending courses and so on.

Nice video, shame its nothing to do with our man. Markus is not part of Liebherr, his company is MALI (Markus Liebherr International) and they have nothing to do with cranes. I want to know how they got that fecking thing down again. Also, the driver was Rupert, how scary is that?
-
Only just (18 miles). At least Liverpool and Southampton are in the same country.
-
Just shows how thick the Skates must be given he was born 3 years after the War ended.
-
So actually you show that you know nothing about him (1) His name is Markus, it is spelled with a K not a C, why can't people get this (2) He has nothing to do with the Crane business, that is owned by his brother and sister. Markus Liebherr's business is the known as MALI (Markus Liebherr International), and specialises in heavy machinery, specifically transmission systems for railways. If you want o find out about his business look at the web site: http://www.mali-group.com/index.php?/en It is fascinating (not) and makes no mention of SFC. Wiki also has a decent article about him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markus_Liebherr but does not include his home address.

Really think this thread is a joke. Can't see AP wanting to go to Scotland, he doesn't seem to even be interested in going north of Watford, he's a southern lad, and clearly prefers to work where he wants to live, around London. I guess he might consider Manure, Citeh or Liverpool if offered but about as likely as Barca I would think. AP's star is in the ascendency again with the media hacks and the footballing world, seen as doing a great job here, he would be follish to leave, and NC would be follish to push him out.

Really don't see that there is much that needs to be changed. I would probably agree that Semi is the weakest link, but even he would be OK in the NPC I suspect. More of a case of strengthening the depth of the squad. A new CM is a must to give some serious competition and alternative, otherwise this team would do fine, certainly based on last night's evidence. I think Pulis may struggle though. Have to say though that I don't think we will do it. Oh one other shout, perhaps Spiderman should be Skipper, then we would have Captain Morgan, that would keep the spirits up

Would be fun if we could beat the all-time record of 47

1957-58. Goal difference was 40 (112-72) and we finished 6th in Div3 with 76 points (allowing for change from 2 pts for a win to 3 since then) - W22 D10 L14 Best ever goal difference was +47 (68-21) when we won the Div 3 South (1921-22)

Steady on nipper, old people like 2-3-5, none of this modern 4-4-2 ******. And whats wrong with driving in the middle of motorways when the road is empty? Can't remember last time I saw an empty motorway though to be fair. Its a bloody relief for some of us not to be stuck behind the bloody red flag any more

Is Chris Nicholl still connected with the Saddlers? Perhaps he is urging them on.

We've never drawn or lost when he has scored either (need to find some wood to touch)

"Free kick awarded for an unfair challenge on Adam Lallana by Jeff Hughes. Jon Otsemobor crosses the ball from the free kick right-footed from left wing, save made by Kelvin Davis" [bBC] Feck me that must have been a bad cross

Someone's hijacked Alp's computer again. I wonder if he knows? -
Bristol Rovers Vs Saints - 1st Half and Half-Time

Just out of interest, they scored from a pen, yet the stats say 0 shots on target for the Gas, how does that work? -
Interesting that. At one stage yesterday after one particular run, he looked absolutely ****ged out, and stood with his hands on his hips looking like he was having difficulty recovering from the exertion for quite a long time. He was clearly struggling, and made no attempt to get back. Thats not a criticism by the way, simply an observation made at the time before I was aware of the stat you refer to.

And the Pompey supporters are even worse. Hose the whole stadium down in my opinion. Skates and Yids, I just wasted 2 hours of my life hoping the Spuds would thump the Skates, despite the best efforts of Bale and Crouch, Spuds were fecking atrocious. Oh well, Chelski towin the FA Cup again (and I only dislike them a little less than the others, 3 most loathed teams for me).

Can you make a judgement next Christmas?
VectisSaint replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Saints
Of course a decision can be made at Christmas. If we are not in the Top 6 or within spitting distance at that point then things will have gone awry and it will be obvious that AP is not the man for the job. At that point we really should be in the Top 2 (really should be top). You have to make decisions at that point before the transfer window, otherwise the opportunity to change things is lost. The 5 year plan requires that we get promoted next season at worst. If we don't look like we are going to achieve that by Christmas then NC should and will act. All that said I am supremely confident that this will not be an issue and that we will be in the Top 2 at Christmas (in fact I would be surprised if we are not top). If we bomb after that like Leeds it wil obviously be a major blow, but even now I still think Leeds wll be in the "nPower are **** League" next season and not League 1.
