  1. I believe he went the longest amount of time without conceding a goal, due to the time Chelsea scored in that game. You could argue he'd already beaten if you include the games in the lead up to his injury. As for the hatrick stat, I dunno, as far as I'm concerned Pelle got a hatrick against Sunderland during the 8-0. The shot was on target and going in. The ball didn't stop when the Sunderland player touched it. That'll always be Pelle's goal for me and that's his hatrick. We neither did the double over anyone nor had it done over us all season I think. That has to be some sort of record, surely?
  2. No great shock with any of them. Mane and Wanyama have been wanting to leave for a year, it's been public knowledge. We've had a year to find replacements. Pelle hasn't seemed happy for about 6 months and that culminated with him being dropped against whoever it was because of his attitude. There was something in the Echo late last year that Tadic wanted to leave England all together because he wasn't happy here and as for Juanmi...He's just this generation's Ryan Smith.
  3. Thank **** Group stages here we come! I don't follow European football, have any of the usual Champions League lot fallen short this year? Thus qualifying for this competition instead?
  4. Didn't he put the cross in for one of their goals which had gone over the line or something during the play off semi?
  5. Amazed Puncheon is playing with their cup final. His journey with us wasn't all plain sailing but he left us on fairly good terms. I don't recall seeing Richard Chaplow's name mentioned. Will he be playing? It'd be a native shame if not, he was a huge part of our successes.
  6. So what exactly is the situation? Does the Cup final have any bearing on us? Are we DEFINITELY in Europe? Do we still have to go through a play off if Palace win the Cup?
  7. Can't find one anywhere, the above link doesn't work.
  8. Tbf, when Le Tissier tweeted at Owen that Saints need a striker (or something like that), he tweeted back saying "Open to offers". Pretty sure that was when we were in the Championship. It was Martin O'Neill that kept buying all the houses in in Winchester!!!
  9. Wait...Wait...Wait...So now we WANT Townsend?! I can't keep up with this forum.
  10. How did you work that one out? Have we actually got to the point where if a player plays well against a big club he's considered to be wanting to join there?! Well maybe he should just put a bit less effort in in future. I have no doubts that Mane will go in the summer but I don't believe for one minute that that was his motivation today.
  11. He was outstanding today. By far, his best game in a Saints shirt.
  12. We haven't done a double over anyone either have we? I was thinking yesterday that I don't think we've taken six points from anyone and with Palace, Spurs and City to come, that's not going to change because they've all beaten us.
  13. Tadic. When he plays well and uses a bit of common sense, he's unplayable and everyone around him seems to benefit from that.
  14. Nothing we didn't know already. We've known for a year that Wanyama and Mane will probably go. Tadic has hinted he might be off, Pelle is probably done here and as he says Juanmi will more than likely go. He says there might be "2 or 3 departures". I don't think that'll be the end of the world if the black box keeps doing it's job! Nothing to see here...
  15. All these commentator references to what David Prutton did for us against Newcastle and Rafa. Good thing we're not playing Arsenal really.
  16. If Tadic had any common sense what so ever he'd be amazing. We're playing like we're 5-0 up in stoppage time ffs.
  17. I only ever saw him play in the Championship but I didn't think he was THAT bad.
  18. "Well yeah' mean..." I liked Burley, he was my first (of many) managerial appointment I experienced as a Saints fan. We had some rotten luck while he was in charge but with the money he had to spend, which was speculated to be something like £8 Million (a lot of money at Championship level in those days) we should have really won the league comfortably. Still, gave Bale, Surman and Lallana their debuts and got the absolute best out of Chris Baird so he wasn't all bad.
  19. What a day out that was. In hindsight, it was worth the two relegations and administration. Especially when you look at where we are now! Sometimes when I've had a few and feeling a bit sentimental, I put the DVD on and relive it! (I do that with our promotion days too tbh). I remember the night before, I couldn't sleep with excitement and I also remember being 4-0 up and still shaking like a leaf, being scared we'd blow it. I also remember having some great chats with the Carlisle fans after the game who were totally respectful and dignified. They're a good bunch. I was pleased for them that they got that consolation goal. I'm not a big Pardew fan but I'll always be grateful to him for that. Anyone care to share their memories of the day or the lead up to it?
  20. Bournemouth losing after 45 seconds. This could be a great afternoon. I don't particularly like Spurs or Poch but I really dislike Bournemouth and their ungrateful fans.
  21. Oh yes and Mane. I'm not trying to slate Koeman, I love him. I'm just saying it's the one area of the game, under him, that worries me and I don't think it's a coincidence, that's all.
  22. Seriously. It's not great is it. Wanyama (x3), Schiederlin, Bertrand, Fonte and JWP have all been sent off under him and I could well be missing some. I'd be interested to see his average red card to game percentage. It must be through the roof, seven red cards in a year and a half in charge is actually pretty bad.
  23. He does, doesn't he?
  24. Let's be honest, if a WHU player had done that and not been sent off, we'd be winging. Wanyama is a liability. Horrible tackle and rightly sent off.
  25. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20160203-ronald-koeman-virgil-van-dijk-premier-league-awards-2937227.aspx Surely Forster should have been in with a shout, the difference he's made is amazing.
