  1. Not sure it is an overreaction. He has been clueless from Day 1 so far. Looks hopelessly out of his depth.
  2. Clueless, absolutely clueless. IT is not rocket science to know that Boufal and Tadic on the pitch at the same time is not good. And still no bloody strikers brought on!!!!
  3. Bloody Tadic - why the hell can't MP see that this guy needs a spell out of the team?
  4. You have got to be kidding me right? Last year we employed similar tactics but looked defensively way stronger. This year we have been poor from the get go and continued that way with no change in tactics and dropping Gabbi who had zero service for a guy who couldn;t score in a brothel.
  5. That was awful. Pellegrino should hang his head in shame - his tactics are baffling and we have regressed from last season big time. I could not fathom why Puel was fired - and MP seems to be quite a big step DOWN from Puel. Why fire one defensive, well organized manager for a defensive, shambolic tactics manager? Makes no sense........and I wish Tadic had f****d off in the summer. Toothless tiger. This conservative approach to every game is beyond annoying. Give it a bloody go for gods sake and play 2 up top - we are not going to score in a month of SUndays with the current setup. And you don't need to be a highly paid manager to see that. I am starting to think we have made a very, very bad hire in the summer. But at least his press conferences are entertaining.
  6. Game over - we really are s***e. IF Pellegrini is a step up from CLaude Puel I'm a f*****g CHinaman. The guy is clueless - we are much worse than last year and are truly awful. Make no mistake we are in a relegation battle this year. WTF have Tadic and Redmond got to do to be dropped? Or Davis? Birtles has it spot on ..... we are so easy to play against as our midfield is static and whoever plays up front is totally isolated. When we have the ball it is sideways, sideways backwards and about as much cutting edge as a blunt knife. Why could we have not recruited someone who at least wants to play attacking football rather than this s***e that is being served up
  7. Puel out ......... defensive, negative crap with no ambition. Oh, hold on Pellegrino is manager now................................ Awful tactics so far, Stoke have run of midfield and LOng completely isolated with our negative, unbalanced lineup
  8. SO you're happy with what you have seen this season are you? From the clueless prat that thought Mane should not have been sent off.
  9. You sure are....
  10. So many clowns wanting Puel out for the dire football (much was but not all of it) got their wish. To be replaced by a manager that is just as defensive but does not have the team organized at all. Under Puel we created chances and could not finish. UNder MP we are not creating chances and look utterly clueless. 5 games and we have only score in 1 of them and we look bereft. This could well turn into a bottom half/relegation scrap unless something changes - and quickly! We have so many woeful, underperforming players......Davis, Tadic, Boufal, Redmond, Long, Austin, Forster, Bertrand (amongst others) and are so slow and predictable we make it easy to defend against. The performances this year have been far, far worse than under Puel last season. Last year we had a plan and a shape. this year we have nothing
  11. Some proper mentalists thinking he might play/be on the bench Saturday. He hasn't played in nearly 9 months. Plus we have 2 clean sheets in 3 games. Does anyone know if he will play or is still just training? Does Tom28 have any updates - whatever happened to him?
  12. Not sure what is sadder to be honest....a bunch of grown men (none of the female posters are being hysterical unless I have something wrong) hanging on every word posted on the bastion of truth that is Twitter and taking the word of a fake reporter (he is not an ESPN reporter) and getting their knickers in a twist over it all. Not for the first time, the mass hysteria has taken hold.............
  13. What utter codswallop....as CB Fry posted not one of those players you mentioned was purchased when we got promoted to the Championship. Blimey, Lallana was from the Academy, Morgan was signed years previously, Fonte was signed when in L1, Clyne when we got promoted to the Prem, Lambert in L1, etc, etc Other than that, you are spot on...............
  14. Boufal for me - although tadic can be creative he is not a team player, slows the play down way too much and his finishing is utterly abysmal. His constant whining and whinging does my head in and I think Boufal would improve with a run in the team. Has to be worth a try as it is just not working right now.
  15. Last night sounds like it was a disgraceful performance and a carry over from the 2nd half against 10 man West ham where we were abysmal....slow, ponderous and no cutting edge at all. As ever, our players struggle to find the back of the net. Without being there it sounds like we were yet again slow with very little movement and the managers tactics were horrifically wrong. This - for me - is the most worrying thing. he needed to change things earlier against West ham and out-thought himself last night by playing 3 at the back at home against a young Wolves side. Why not go for it and play attacking, fast paced football? Not really seen much so far to suggest he is an upgrade on Puel although early days. yes, we may play slightly more attacking football but the defending is comical and lack of movement/pace and finishing is about the same. Puel's tactics were far better than Pellegrinos too.
  16. TBF he is 100% accurate. Never ceases to amaze me how hysterical some on here are.
  17. Yep, being an utter troll
  18. But it was not a convincing display at all. And he's right.....we need that commanding CB and VVD is an utter disgrace for us having to start the season like this. I never want to see VVD in a Saints shirt again - he is an utter s***face.
  19. JWP showing why he should have started. Different side when he came on......Davis ponderous, slow and Romeu did not have a good name as did none of the back line. Overall a terrible display and why we did not go for it against 10 men I do not know. So who is to blame now Puel is no longer here. We are so poor in midfield - we had no ideas and Tadic continues to immensely frustrate me as does Redmond. redmond has a ton of quality but he is muscled off the ball and disappears for long stretches which is simply not good enough. A win is a win - but it was a terrible display truth be told and deeply concerning. While I think Pellegrino was too slow to make changes the reality is that VVD has let us all down by being a total c**k. It is obvious to anyone that Yoshi and STephens both need a commanding CB next to them.
  20. Think you are mistaking Davis for JWP based on that. Davis was utter s***e last week and slowed everything down whereas JWP was a threat and unfairly subbed. Davis - the most overrated underrated player I can remember
  21. I really like the way we do our business - quietly and going for young players that are not the finished article but could be gems with good coaching (and very high resale value). They don't all work out but compared to the stupid money being thrown around the players we pick up are bargain prices (comparatively speaking). When you look at some of the crazy money being thrown around our model is so much better.........
  22. Everton are stockpiling players - and of the older variety. They had some promising youngsters coming through last year.....looks like they won't get much of a chance now. Sound familiar? All very well buying these players but Koeman is thinking short term (he won't be there in a couple of years) and the age of his buys is pretty old.
  23. OMG - take a look at this article. Looks like it has been written by a 5 year old on crack. Proof checking obviously not part of the Daily Fail any more http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4789216/Gao-Jisheng-new-owner-Southampton-200m-takeover.html
  24. TBF....I thought Puel was hard done by. But to claim we played yesterday like we did first 2 games last season is rewriting history a bit. We were defensive, cautious and ponderous (although some lovely passing) in those games last season. yesterday (1st half at least) we were far more dynamic, pressing and attack minded. Cautiously optimistic for the season ahead if we can get 1-2 players in (or VVD regains his head) and our players actually start hitting the back of the net
  25. We should have stuffed them. Ran out of ideas but more attacking play and pressing means we will be better to watch this season. Positives: Stephens, Cedric, Bertrand, redmond, jwp (no idea why he was subbed) Negatives: Yoshida (damn VVD, he has let us all down and we need to sell him now and get a good replacement in), Tadic, Davis (way too slow) and Gabbiadini (looks a pale imitation of the player we first signed) Shooting was absolutely abysmal and way too predictable. Only JWP looked like an attacking threat driving to goal from midfield. Tadic does my nut in, Davis too slow and we desperately need a quality CB to partner Stephens. Not a bad start, just deeply frustrating that we cannot score for toffee
