Sloppy ball from Morgan. Well won Dani, good work.
-
Luke Shaw has good strength. Didn't look like he should have won that ball but he did.
-
Wanyama's close control hasn't been brilliant so far. Saints are pressing now though.
-
Great save from Jussi from Osvaldo. Should've scored there. Good work JRod.
-
West Ham pressing. They're working hard.
-
Good noise from the crowd!

COME ON YOU REDS!!! A good chance for 3 points if we want to finish higher than last season, but we must be patient and composed. A good performance will hopefully see us get the result we desire. West Ham are a dangerous team though, some good players in there...

Wayne Thomas against Ipswich in the FA Cup. Ok, perhaps not the best, but it gets a mention because of its unexpectedness. We yelled "shoot", he did, and it was a cracker.

Surely Stern John and Rasiak or Saganowski played together in our lower league days, which wouldn't make this phenomenon as good as it sounds. (Albeit with higher profile countries now.) Question for MLG I reckon!

I'll raise that, and bet my bank account savings, an entire collection of my wife's porcelain penguins, and two much beaten parrots that Southampton's First XI won't win on Saturday. :-) The deal expires at midnight though, Sunday is a brand new day. :-p

Good for him if true. Another attacking option, perhaps our weakest area (IMO), can only be a good thing. As long as he's clear of injuries and willing to work hard for the team, I can't see this as being a bad thing. Perhaps he's seen how Yoshida has got on last season, and wanted a slice for himself. I can't see him being used a lot, but as a squad choice he's better than some. As for Sharp? I'm not sure an out and out striker will find game time, with Osvaldo and Rickie in front of him. It does seem weird we let Mayuka go though, perhaps this was in the knowledge we had Lee or Sharp available for selection...

I actually like that, but no Lallana? I know not everyone can play but he's captain and has probably been our best attacking outlet this season. Either bring him in for JRod or Cork (sorry Corky) and that would be a good team. (It's good as it is, just a little lacking in creativity...) SHould win this game but I can see us drawing it. 1-1, although winning it will be a measure of how far we've come since promotion in comparison to West Ham. They were better than us last year, because they had a lot of Premier League experienced players, and added to that with more Premier League experienced players. Our players now have Premier League experience and, are quite frankly, better than theirs. I'm still going for the draw but am half expecting a win.

I think Rickie has a future for England, but it may be restricted to the odd sub appearance from now on. If he keeps his Saints form up, he'll stay in contention IMO. He's no worse than Peter Crouch (another player that made his career for England on scoring against weaker opponents) and Crouch went on to get 42 caps, scoring 22 goals. (acc. to Wikipedia, and I accept Crouch had time on his side...) Terrible match though. England as a whole were woeful.

My apologies. I'll add Wart to that...

Man Utd can have him for £10 million and RVP in part exchange. :-D

Lambert again involved...
-
Come on England!!! RICKIE LAMBERT'S A GOALSCORING MACHINE!!! w00t for England! Do we use sexy nuns?
-
Walcott, Wilshere, Walker - all the W's are the Worst players on the pitch so far...
-
Spoke too soon. I think that's the first pass he's had that's missed its man since he's worn and England shirt. (Rose tinted specs on...)
-
He's looking good. Neat touches, hassling their players too and being the all round lone striker. Looks knackered already though!

I like perfectly valid pints. :-D As for the quote that's a bit harsh on the coaches and scouts of the lower league clubs that knew about his talent years ago, as Saints did when we signed him, unless I'm reading that quote wrongly. Aside from that, I agree, it is a good article. I'm very excited for the Ukraine game, imagine how we'd be feeling, imagine how Rickie would be feeling, had he got picked for a World Cup untested and all this fairytale was happening at the tournament! Unlikely but it makes you think. If England go to the World Cup, and Rickie goes with them, I'll be supporting England like never before.

The future's bright for England with the U21's, so I'll give them a w00t. Or as Gazza would say: "Hawaii the lads!"

I don't have anything more to add to this thread, but the missus might. Alaska...
