Substitutions need to be slicker. What’s the point of an led display that nobody can read and that can only handle one change at a time. What was wrong with the white cards that they used to hold up?

It’s an awful idea. The beauty of football compared with other team sports is the continuous ebb and flow and the excitement that this generates. Constant substitutions, sit-down timeouts, VAR delays are all killing this aspect of the sport. It’s a team game and not a squad game.

Do such away season tickets include Cup games, do we know?

Possibly, but all the substitutions would scupper that. Plus the sit-down timeouts.

There's more to it than that. I don't expect to win every game but I expect our team to try to do so. I expect our manager to always put out his best team too. On Sunday he fiddled with a winning formula and has allowed what faith I had in his abilities to slip back. I though he had learnt, but no.

Note to referees: You don’t have to stop the game just because somebody is lying on the ground holding his leg.

He was a main reason that we lost. He wasn’t just a passenger, he actually went into hiding. There was one moment when he intercepted just outside our are but apart from that, nothing. The worst thing is we could have had Adam Armstrong up front along with Che.

Nothing like it. Their playacting was at a different level. How many times was it? I lost count at ten.
