  1. It will take a lifetime or two to recover from the incompetence of Buffoon Brown.
  2. Own goal innit. Not polite to celebrate when you haven't scored it yourself. It was a beautiful strike so it was only fair to applaud the quality of the finish.
  3. A Poshturing. From a comment on the radio saying it was like an entry in Victoria Beckham's diary: Ate nothing

I went down there this evening to watch them. It was all Reading first half and they smacked the crossbar but a quick burst at the start of the second half and it was all over. Bloody hell though, the football's nothing like Premier League standard.
  5. My comment is true whatever occurred.
  6. And the Champions League Final the year after!
  7. It's early days yet. Where do you think the success of the top teams has come from over the last 10 years or so, I don't think it was from better coaching. Where were Chelsea until Abramovich started bankrolling them?
  8. Too tired??? If that were my child there's no way that I could sleep that night and I would have to do something.
  9. What do we have to do to get the remaining £4m of add-ons?
  10. The amount of money received was ample compensation and virtually guaranteed success in the medium term at least.
  11. I just have - after much juggling to get past all the padding - and it's not even clear if there is any contact, but it is totally irrelevant whether or not there has been any contact despite what all the commendators and pundits might tell you. It's not a foul to touch another player and it may be a foul even if you don't. It's not enough for a forward to run at another player and then touch them with his toe and go flying in a spectacular attempt to convince the referee that there has been a foul. Many referees will expect the attacker to make some genuine attempt to avoid the other player. Was Forster's touch (if any) enough to send a 6 foot athlete into a somersault? Had Fletcher hurdled Forster would he have reached the ball? Was he tripped or did he trip over? These are all the questions that have to be considered before reaching a decision. Forster's position was not unnatural for a goalkeeper trying to block a forward's shot. Some might have given it, others wouldn't. On this occasion we had the benefit of the doubt. All that you can ask of a referee is that he has consistent levels throughout the game of what constitutes a foul.
  12. Just think how bad it would have been if they hadn't taken the money-saving measures.
  13. Yes, ridiculous. It should be high-eighting.
  14. Well I'm not embarrassed. This was a top-level experienced referee with a very close call to make and he decided not to award a penalty. Fletcher wasn't tripped by Forster, he tried to avoid him by somersaulting over his crouched body. Forster had stopped before Fletcher got there.
  15. It certainly wasn't a mistake. He just had a different opinion to you. There was nothing eccentric about his decision, it was just one of those occasions where it could have gone either way. There have been far more dubious penalty awards over this weekend. In my opinion, of course.
  16. I never saw any of this as a problem. This is not a political party having to canvass for votes, all that matters are results on the pitch. I guess some of us have different expectations.
  17. Have a search for 'Flying in from Holland' and Pappalotti. Sorry, I can't find a way of posting the link from a Tapatalk.
  18. Her early film career include 'Confessions of a Driving Instructor' and 'The Sweeney' . I shall always remember her as the naked dead girl on the bed. She always seemed like a load of fun. May she Rest In Peace. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/02/13/article-1250758-08365D19000005DC-478_233x563.jpg
  19. Fair enough, but just out of interest was your view side on or looking down the pitch?
  20. Sorry, not sure whether you are saying that Forster had, or had not stopped?
  21. To his credit.
  22. Slow motion is misleading in incidents like these. It does not show the momentum of the players. Forster had come to a stop before Fletcher ran over him. The essence is was Fletcher tripped by Forster or did he trip over him? I think it also depends on your point of view, literal and otherwise. Let's just say it could have gon either way but was not clear cut.
  23. These incidents are all 'in the opinion of the referee'. This time the decision went our way but it was probably as close as you can get. In my opinion it could be argued that Forster had stopped and Fletcher had run into him.
  24. Are you including a top FA official in that list?
  25. My Chrome browser insists on translating everything it can so the title appears as 'Skin Disappointed' instead of Pelle
