  1. Should have threatened him with dropping his attributes on FM if he ever gets included in it...
  2. Thanks for that. Saves me another message to type out
  3. I think Adkins will be the best English manager since Sir Bobby. McClaren, Pardew etc will always have clubs that just don't suit them. Everywhere Adkins has gone he's been successful. I'd put money on wherever he ends up next he'll be a success - again. Agree with you about the "right club, right time" thing...
  4. The difference between Pearson and Adkins is massive. Pearson's sides don't really play good football, for a start. God forbid I ever see him in the home dugout barking out orders or listening to his monotone drawls pre/post match..
  5. You are being verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry naive.
  6. Absolutely gutted for Nigel, wish it hadn't happened as I do believe eventually, he'd have take us further and further. However, I think Cortese is "fast-tracking" us and can't wait around for gradual steps of improvement. Dangerous, but he's called it right before. It remains to be seen though whether Pochettino is a "step up" in anything more than just name and contacts. I do however still think Cortese is a complete ar5ehole.
  7. WTF Why would Lerner do that!!!!!!?
  8. On noes! What will the most backward, pigsh1t thick people in the country think of us!? Oh hell, it really does hurt to think they might be horrible about us, all because we want to do the decent thing and say thank you to our most successful manager in recent history, arguably ever.
  9. Its all part of Nicola's "this is what you could have" teasing... This trip has been planned for a while.
  10. Tour around the Nou Camp?
  11. Languages spoken: Spanish (fluent), Italian, English (basic) perhaps?
  12. Absolutely, I will do
  13. Unfortunately due to our friends from the east finally cottining on to the website I will be closing it soon, but thank you to all for contributors.. and thank you to the Pompey fans for their witty and charming messages to me, and on the website. Not sure they've got much to laugh about.....
  14. Very interesting, ta!
  15. As I posted earlier... Not sure I see it how many on here do. I didn't see a great display - I saw a slightly regressed one, football-wise. I thought the options/movement were lacking and despite creating some chances, we didn't look as polished as in recent weeks (don't know if that's to be expected or not after everything that has happened, but still). It was aggressive, it was passionate... but it wasn't much more than that. There was no guile and smooth interplay passing like under NA and we were relying on our technically gifted players to individually break the deadlock. Of course, when they were substituted in the 2nd half our threat subsided considerably. In the second half we played like the away team which was disappointing. We've had a busy period so maybe you can attribute that to tiredness. Additionally, MP has only had two training sessions to get his message across so obviously, the jury will be out for a while. FWIW, I watched a lot of Espanyol highlights over the weekend (sad, I know) and I have to say I wasn't very impressed at all. All seemed a bit "Steve McLaren" in the style of football, definitely not the "Barca style" championed by the PR machine. Still, it's a good point against a decent side. It's not bad, considering everything that's gone on.

  17. Yup. Or both, which is something we were doing anyway..
  18. I didn't realise I had to openly disclose my sorrow! I was disappointed about Sharp tbh... I know we have to move on and everyone will but I believe we've sacked someone who could take us just as far as anyone else, and with such style. As for Cortese, well... the whole media blackout/programme snub/banner ban about sums it up. It's the sacking and that kind of thing that makes me think again about what i want.
  19. Well, let's just say I wanted Premier League football so that we'd keep ahold of our best players. Everything that's happened has to be honest, made me think a little harder.
  20. Not sure I want success at any cost any more.
  21. Dictatorship.
  22. On strike? Stay classy.
  23. Thanks Ewell, really appreciated - and thanks for the info too, very helpful!
  24. You're a better man than most.
