99% can see beyond the Stelling rant and still love MLT and appreciate Cortese's work, the other 1% are the supa-dupa fans who want to be "the fan on the board" and always make a drama out of everything. To them, a chairman is constantly a pantomine villain and only they, the supa-dupa fan with a pulse on finance, economy, economics, football, education, politics and democracy can save the club from certain implosion...

Surprise, same old people again. One day they'll be the fan on the board - they just have to get rid of that nasty Italian-Swiss banker.
-
This, but I'm not sure our wannabe FoB's want that... they'd prefer a bit of drama ala Hollyoaks....

How dare you! How dare you!

What you didn't see was the evil midget Cortese behind him, with a beretta to his back, forcing him to say that.

Cortese kisses and makes up with the Sun

You can facepalm me all you want, Mr FoB-wannabe (!) however that's the exact viewpoint you'd have taken if it had fitted your agenda. Additionally, you are clearly forgetting the months of whinging by LM to the local toilet-rag. It works both ways, though it may have slipped your mind conveniently. And I wouldn't suggest The Sun's journo's are ultra-sharp and savvy. Take a look at the newspaper. No, seriously, go on. Take a look. It's not as if they're sensationalist about things, are they? *guffaw* -
Just so the more reactionary types know, I've re-stocked my cupboards full of razor blades for the forthcoming season.

Was he re-opening old wounds or was he specifically asked by the reporter? Still, don't let get in the way of any "Cortese is the devil" conspiracy theories you have... -

Lol, uber-fans, wannabe on the board types. So true. -
Quality player, shame he gets injured so much. If he was available more, he would have proved his talent to far more people by now.

FFS, I'm sick with this obsession of being in the Championship. Yes, at this moment in time we stand a good chance of winning more than we lose; yet, if we stand still and "consolidate" like some people want for us to do then we will lose Fonte, Lallana, Lambert and Cork. If we accept mediocrity than eventually that's what will get. Then stagnation follows - and that'll be mirrored throughout the team with the replacements we'd have to find for our better players. The disruption losing them will cause no-end of hassle. The sooner we go up, the better chance we have of keeping our best players. And if we do go up and get relegated, we go down with £60m in the bank - much more than if we'd sat around in the Championship for a couple of seasons making up the numbers. Even promotion and subsequent relegation would leave us in a far better position than Mid-table/mid-table. Besides, as fun as it's been sometimes, I think we've done our time in the lower leagues and most definitely learned some valuable lessons.

Any Premier League team at home, simply because I want to "feel" and remember what it was like to be playing a PL team again. Oh, and it'll be a decent yardstick if we both field competitive first elevens...

That just stinks of fish. Rotten, dirty, fish. And we all know what that means. The problem is, he reported it to the FA. The FA are protecting that club... so what's the point of that?
-
He'll score more than Ormerod. He has more an instinct for goals than Brett as well as a similar workrate.
-
LOL, surely he should factor in that we bif £5m for one of their players before the window closed... not sure we'd have done that if we were skint... Then again, it never stopped Pompey...
-
Superb post and your link just about sums it all up for me. I'm sure Corpy agrees.... rofl

Harrison has claimed to Sportsmail that one club are 'under the protection of the FA'. He insists the club use the same agent for all their deals and that there are kickbacks as a reward. Sportsmail has been unable to substantiate this allegation, but he has notified the FA of his concerns. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM........
-
Absolutely.

Quality player, great work ethic. Rather him than Rodriguez or Maynard as I think he'll suit our style/attitude better. That said, it's gone now.
-
I wonder if he's one of those players that gets passed around to make money.... then again, surely not?

A fan in the board? Who was the front runner???

Superb post -
Great post as always lol And here's something for amusement, just to wrap up a superb weekend - one of the most hollow and amusing on-pitch announcements since Delia asked "Where are you?": http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8656390.stm "If anyone wants a lesson on passion, commitment and loyalty, Fratton Park is the place" Says Avram, at WHU one month later to the fans, who have unashamedly deserted the club in their droves since administration.

Pretty much every club we've played with the exception of Leeds have been behind us in the table, tbf...
