Nothing at all wrong. Bit of cucumber, bit of yoghurt, nice dip with a poppadom or two.

Football Manager 2012 - Announced!
Barry the Badger replied to Matthew Le God's topic in Computer Games
Totally unrealistic, yes. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/8842079.stm The problem is that people don't like there being a random element to a game. They want 'doing the right things' to always equal victory (which is how most games work). Well, it isn't like that in real football and it isn't like that in FM either. -
We all know he wouldn't be as good as Lambert anyway. I would rather have Torres than Bendtner and that's saying something.
-
That doesn't explain the improvement since last season, when we also dominated games.

Well perhaps, but there is something of a difference between 'censorship' and the blocking of sites practicing copyright theft. It's not like they're cracking down on free speech.

This site needs sorting out on match day.

Well then it's lucky that this is a long way from being like other businesses you patronise. If you honestly believe this web forum run by two blokes in their spare time as a service for other saints fans truly bares comparison to "other businesses", then I'm glad I only have to read 3 of your posts each day. -
you are on a windup!

I hadn't considered that it could be the police holding things up, though I guess the club could still be more forthcoming with communication. I do find it funny that you need police authority to have a big flag.

Over the past few years he has been prone to injury, he a long term problem and then quite a lot of smaller layoffs after joining us. He has returned from injuries a number of times for us, each time finding his way into the first team before getting injured and losing his place again. If you take his entire career then no, he has not been injury prone, but since his big injury he has struggled to get a good run going and that is why people label him so. Stop getting so worked up about it. Of course, we all hope that this time the good pre season has really set him up for an injury free season.

Whilst I guess it made sense to use it for the memorial tournament, I agree its disappointing that became the one chosen match rather than one where more people would see it. Perhaps more clarification should've been sought with the club early on, but I'd imagine Mike assumed the club would continue to communicate and cooperate with him after the flag had been handed over. He did a brilliant job getting the project together to honour ML, and it does feel that the club have done the bare minimum. I would have thought the least they could do would've been an article on the OS and continuing to speak to him afterwards about future uses. Maybe the person he was dealing with has left or something?

To be fair, mike always said it was being done for one particular match, initially Walsall but this then changed to the first home game, after which it would be up to the club. If you were expecting it every game, you made that assumption and should've read it properly, nothing more than one match was ever promised. I do get what you're saying but if you're gonna throw words like 'robbed' around its fair to point out you were not. That said, I share your dissapointment at not having seen it more, and I do think its pretty **** poor that the club are now ignoring Mikes request for info.

That wasn't how I read it, I thought he was saying IE dies also taking saintsplayer with it. Just trying to be helpful. Alternatively, until things are sorted, if on Windows 7 install 'xp mode'. You can then run a virtual xp machine within your windows 7 desktop which you coud use to view saintsweb, with the saintsplayer running on the main win7 desktop. Then if ie crashes, you only have to reboot the xp virtual machine. To be honest though, if a webpage timeout causes your entire computer to need a reboot, there's probably something wrong with your computer.
-
Bit of a workaround but install Firefox and use that for one or the other. That should prevent Saintsweb timeouts killing your saintsplayer.

Was it? My memory is that the charge was simply introduced when the site was started, to help cover running costs. I don't remember any promises that it would be used for anything specific when it was introduced. Honestly if I was Steve or Baj I would've just said **** it and walked away some time ago. They seem to get a total lack of appreciation for the work they put in here. I could understand the animosity if they were taking a wage, but they aren't.

I used to work for a bank and they would send out letters saying court this and bailiff that. We were also encouraged to threaten debtors with bailiffs if they phoned us. The bank had no link with any bailiffs whatsoever, it was all posturing. Don't panic basically.

Having it in one of those massive datacentres should hugely improve the amount of network traffic the site can handle. I'm guessing you will have access to multiple network cards too which will help. Sounds like a good plan to me, good work.

I'm a big fan of Davis but I thought it screamed for him not to retreat to his goal line.

Connolly doesn´t like the "back from the dead song"
Barry the Badger replied to St.Patrik's topic in The Saints
Are these the same ones who cleverly rhymed the word dead with, well, dead? We're glad he's alive, we though he was dead David Connoly, he's back from the dead Awesome work ;-) -
Yes. Because football clubs definitely never spend outside of their means. Would you have said the same about Pompey before they collapsed? Yes it's a lot of debt but it's obviously well under control if they can sanction the signings of Sol Campbell, David James, Peter Crouch etc...

To the tune of posh spice is a slapper.... oooooooooohhhh shut up, sit down right now you are offending me your song's not been approved by David Connolly Soooooooooooo, dont joke that he's been injured it will not make him smile he will just point out dryly he's been back for a while. -
No luck unfortunately. Not sure if they called my bluff but I said I was calling to disconnect and when they asked why I gave them the details of what BT were offering. She just said the £58 was the best they can do and they can't match the BT price or budge at all. Either I got somebody who was having a bad day, or they aren't that bothered.

Has anybody had much luck driving Virgin down on price? Any Tips? I've asked them for a price to change my package and they've quoted £58 per month, whereas BT are quoting me £40 for a package which includes faster broadband and more TV channels, and that's £33 for the first 3 months. Ideally I would prefer not to switch but may threaten to move and see if the price changes. Anybody had success with this tactic?
