  1. No way! One of my favourite ever players. Would have played at a really high level if he wasn't so injury prone.
  2. Can see us just sneaking into 2nd ala Leeds last year.
  3. Personally I didn't think it was a great game. Far too nerve-wracking to enjoy, and the quality of football was appalling. Two bad teams who couldn't defend to save their lives. Wouldn't mind seeing the Camara goal again though. One of the best celebrations at SMS ever after that one
  4. There were a load of mongs singing it at Millwall last season, presumably in a pathetic attempt to wind up their fans. Totally cringe-worthy and embarrassing. Also, I heard some fans chant "We all hate Leeds scum" at a game this season as well. WTF?
  5. People around me were doing the same, really frustrating. Has always happened. I remember when we had Strachan and people would moan when Svensson and Claus passed the ball amongst themselves when we were winning, rather than hitting it long.
  6. That's Forte who has played a grand total of what? 15 minutes? Way early to start calling him sh*t IMO
  7. Pro Cortese wo-oo-oh Cortese wo-oo-oh He comes from Italy He f*cking hates P*mpey
  8. Why do some people feel the need to take sides in this Cortese/MLT 'feud'? MLT is our greatest ever player, who will always be a hero to any true Saints fan. Cortese convinced Marcus to buy the club. I don't think some people realise how lucky we were to get these guys. It's not like billionaires are lining up around the block to buy League 1 clubs (Or most clubs anywhere for that matter). As far as I'm concerned he's done an absolutely superb job so far. Wouldn't swap him for anyone. As long as he keeps up the good work, which I'm sure he will I won't be changing my mind on that. I love MLT. I love Cortese. I couldn't care less about any grudge they might have.
  9. Deano MOTM today, excellent performance. So good to have such great options in midfield with him Chappy and Schneiderlin. Poor game but we aren't going to win 6-0 every week so 3 points is all that matters really at this stage.
  10. Chamberlain (and other fan favourites) has played as badly as N'Guessan did today before, yet people would never boo him. Don't understand how some fans can make a judgement over the guy so quickly. Sure isn't going to do his confidence any good.
  11. Absolutely ridiculous. As you say, the guy was MOTM against Exeter. Sums up some of our fans at the moment, who aren't happy unless we win 5-0 every week. Not the best performance in the world today, but we won and that's all that matters. Notice a few people having a pop at Forte as well who so far has played about 15 minutes in total for the club. Unbelievable.
  12. How stupid does this headline writer look now. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1113507/The-best-players-world-Xavi--Ronaldo-crowned-king-football.html
  13. Can't wait for this one, should be a cracking atmosphere!
  14. Thought now would be a good time to bump this. I think Dalglish has proved all the Liverpool fans right who were calling for Hodgson's head. They showed against Chelsea they DO have the players. Lucas was absolutely superb. How so people don't rate him is unbelievable. Credit to King Kenny for trying something different tactically (and making it work). Proven everyone who thought he was a footballing dinosaur wrong. Hodgson was completely out of his depth at Liverpool. He's gone to West Brom which is more his level. He will keep them up.
  15. Maybe, but what if they get injured?
  16. Shame for West Ham really. Upton Park is a good enough and big enough stadium already, no need to move at all. They'll be moving from a stadium with plenty of character to a soulless bowl. I've been to stadiums with athletics tracks before and it certainly doesn't make for a good atmosphere or view. Will they get close to filling it most weeks?
  17. No, Premiership clubs can't loan players outside the transfer window.
  18. Ok I'm going to bite. I didn't say 'captains' aren't important as such, I just said it's completely irrelevant who is captain. Every team needs good leaders, players who talk to their team mates get everyone going, do all the things you mentioned are important of course they are, but it makes no difference if they have a stupid armband on or not. Roy Keane was a great leader at Man United, but do you seriously think he would go into his shell or act any differently if he wasn't wearing the armband? Do you think players would stop listening to him if he didn't have the armband on? Of course not. Same goes for all the other great captains. You can be a 'Captain' without having the armband on you know. Do you think John Terry does anything differently now he's not wearing the England armband? It's not just me who shares this view. Go to nearly any other country in the world and they will tell you the captaincy is irrelevant. It's just given to the player who's been at the club the longest usually (Or the oldest). So is everyone else in the world wrong? Gabriele Marcotti who is generally regarded as one of the sports top journalists shares the same view as me on this. I've spoken to players who told me it's completely irrelevant. LOTS of people think the same. Fair enough you think differently, but that doesn't mean people who disagree with you are idiots. You've got your opinion I've got mine. Just like you think David Prutton is great, when nearly everyone else in the world thinks he's rubbish. Doesn't mean you're an idiot for having that opinion. You constantly moan when people have a pop at others on here for merely having a differing opinion, yet you get into personal attacks with people like me and Alpine for posting stuff you don't agree with. A bit hypercritical no? Just give it a rest please. As for Higgy, go back and watch the games. I can remember most of the mistakes off the top of my head. How about the two in the Bolton game? Firstly where he failed to push up with the rest of the defence playing their attacker onside which lead to one of their goals. The second one in that game he hacked down Kevin Davies who was running AWAY from goal giving away a penalty. Totally needless. He failed to keep up with the rest of the defence again in the away game at Arsenal where we drew 2-2 (Pretty basic stuff). And who can forget the own goal against Middlesbrough in Redknapp's first game) I will agree that Claus was ****ing dreadful that season though and a terrible leader for us. His performance at Fratton summed up his season really.
  19. TBF, they need a striker with Carroll going and without enough time to bring anyone else in during the transfer window their options are fairly limited. He's not going to be on big money, so assuming he doesn't do well at Newcastle they can just get rid at the end of the season anyway. No harm done really.
  20. True. Davenport was sh*t, but he only played about five games for us, so it wasn't all about him by any means that season.
  21. Anyone remember Cosimo Sarli?
  22. Underrated player. Looked really comfortable on the ball the few times he played. Rarely gave the ball away. Surprised he wasn't given more of a chance.
  23. Nice little earner for 'Arry no doubt. Think he was on the bench against Mansfield in the cup, but never actually played in the first team.
  24. Never play with Saints (Am Malaga atm) but looking at some of the stats for our squad, I reckon Lallana should be rated a bit higher in a few areas (Especially dribbling). Some good players who have done well for me: Yaya Sanogo Alberto Paloschi Sergio Asenjo Dodo Issac Vorsah Kara Breno Anthony Annan Arthur Maia Sergio Feghouli Marco Verratti Esteban Granero Mamoudu Diarra Juan Angel Albin
  25. Hopefully a repeat of the 4-1 game a few years ago.
