  1. It's a **** song, especially when it's sung at places like Selhurst Park and Carrow Road, which aren't much smaller than our ground.
  2. Sounds like they were quite similar actually.
  3. Literally had no idea this game was even on until I saw this thread. Haven't seen one mention of it on Twitter, where even S****horpe vs. Forest was touched on by the odd person. A bumper crowd at the DW I see, 7,515.
  4. Believe it or Barcelona have never won an away knock out tie in the Champions League since Pep became manager. Thought Arsenal would get at least a draw before the game tonight, although I expect Barca to just about sneak through.
  5. That's actually an excellent summary of Rasiak's time here.

    Academy

I notice our Under 18 team seem to be doing very well at the moment, top of the league with a few games in hand. Cortese also said in his BBC interview we had one of the best U18 teams in the country now. My question is does anyone here actually watch any of the academy games? Are these kids actually any good, and are there any stand out players who look like future first teamers? If so who are they? Thanks
  7. Lallana higher dribbling stats (If that's possible for you to do)
  8. Yeah. Great turnout last year, hope we will have as many fans this year too.
  9. It's not Daniel Levy's money, it's Joe Lewis who is the owner. Levy is just the chairman like Cortese. Yeah he has spent A LOT of money which sure does help, but Spurs had spent huge money previously with Jol and Ramos and they didn't do as well as Redknapp. I hate him more than anyone, but it has to be said he's a top manager. If he had been given the money Burley was given when we first went down we would have gone up as Champions.
  10. Fully grown men wearing replica shirts full stop is a bit sad IMO. Not a good look at all.
  11. Remember the name http://www.footylounge.com/films/milankakabaros/raheem-sterling-v-southend-fa-youth-cup-video_84d91020d.html
  12. But we've played really well many times this season. The point is some days you aren't going to be at your best, but if you can still sneak out a result that's the sign of a good team IMO.
  13. Here's the fixtures http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/spain_results/fixtures/default.stm Malaga are an interesting team to follow right now. Even though they are struggling at the moment they were recently bought by a rich Quatrain investor. They've got quite a few big-ish names right now with Pellegrini managing them and new players like Julio Baptista, Enzo Maresca and Sergio Asenjo. Think they will just about stay up this season. Would be a good team to go and watch I reckon. If you don't mind a drive, Sevilla aren't too far away either, although they aren't the side they were a few years ago. You've also got Betis near them who are on their way back to where they belong in the top flight.
  14. Would Messi cut it for us in League 1?
  15. -Pardew had a HUGE budget for League 1 standards in order to build a completely new team. As I said in another thread, he wasn't the only one involved in transfers either. The chief scouts and Cortese, who are still here obviously had a big input in player recruitment too, so there's no reason why this won't continue -We already had a very good squad and Adkins didn't need to bring in a million players. So far he brought in Chaplow who has been brilliant. N'Guessan who has had one very good game and one bad game and Forte who has played a grand total of 15 minutes. Are we writing those two off already? They were brought in mainly as squad players anyway, unfair to compare them to people like Fonte and Lambert. -Not like everyone who was brought in when Pardew was here was a world beater. Mellis and Trotman anyone?
  16. Don't think it was entirely down to Pardew to be fair. Cortese said in his BBC interview last year there were a number of people involved in the recruitment of players (IE him, the manager, chief scout etc). Also why are people writing off N'Guessan and Forte already? Maybe they'll turn out to be good buys too.
  17. That's not true, we qualified through the cup. If it was, 7th placed Everton would have had our UEFA Cup spot.
  18. You must not have seen StuRomseySaint's posts. There are a few morons who hate him.
  19. I think you're right, but I'd love to see it happen. If it was up to me I'd have a CL place for the League Cup as well, and just have the top two from the league. It would mean clubs take the cups more seriously. I think it's a bit sad clubs would rather finish 4th than win a cup these days.
  20. Always amuses me football fans shouting that. Most of our fans are fat slobs who've never been inside a gym their whole life. I guarantee all the keepers who are subject to that are fitter than 99% of fans in the crowd.
  21. Think another idea was to give the winner a place in the Champions League, which I think I'd be in favour of. Not sure about the others. I suppose I could live without replays, but absolutely no way should it be seeded IMO. The beauty of the FA Cup compared to most other cup competitions is the world is that with a good draw even a small team can get far in the competition. I love the idea of the draw being completely random
  22. They are absolutely nothing like each other at all. Cortese actually has a clue.
  23. Not at all. He was a class act. Best thing Redknapp did.
  24. I did the predictor, although our game against Plymouth is missing. Adding that one on (draw) I got 1st. Brighton 93 points 2nd. Saints 81 points 3rd. Bournemouth 81 points 4th. Charlton 80 points 5th. Huddersfield 77 points 6th. Peterborough 71 points.
  25. Here is Camara's winner Edit- just seen someone else post it. Oops!
