Oh and anyone else think Lamerts header was over the line and his goal. I was inline with 6 yard box and I was abusing the lino before papa knocked in the rebound. Lambos goal IMO.
-
Papa waigo is no winger IMO. That first half performance was once of the worst I have seen. ****ing clueless springs to mind. Appeared for a man with pace to have no ability to take on the defender. Second half was better once playing up top. Showed a few decent touches and gained in confidence but still looked like to get caught offside too often.

Bialkowski in Latin means " talented, athletic & confident" Unfotunately Bartosz means " Not Very"

Portsmouth FC have announced that thier new shirt sponsor is Tampax!! A spokesman for Tampax commented " Portsmouth are a perfect fit for our brand as they are all a bunch of CVNTS and they are going through a really bad period."

IMO the reason why he isnt figuring in AP's plans at the moment are - 1) At the beginning of the season we had a real lack of height in the team and playing wooton over Gillet was a short term solution to the problems created by that. 2) Once the lack of height issues had been resolved - Trotman, Hammond, Jaidi & lambert etc coming into the team that could allow gillet a chance to be selected he has to overcome the competition in CM from James and MS as the 2nd CM partnering Hammond. Well thats how i see it anyway.

Read my post again ALP. I asked the question "are you effectively saying we should replace pardew" and if so "who would you replace him with?" The two options that I see if we lose are 1) we carry on supporting and let him get on with the job (my preference) 2) Sack him and replace Now if you advocate option 1 - keeping him then its pretty pointless writing a post saying no more excuses etc if we lose on/ fraw on sat. Unless of course you think a strongly worded letter will do the job. As for your idea of showing more of the old team the door, how doi you propose to do that outside the transfer window and who do you want to replace them with? And how much time would you give these new players (loanees I assume) to gel into the side before you started shouting "no more excuses? So TDD if your reading my earlier questions were of genuine interest and Alps your posts bore me so Id rather you didnt respond. HTH

This is my last of three posts so wont be able to respond after this but you are basing your judgemnet on ARTs judgement. Interestingly his location states Exiled from costa del solent. So Am I assume his judgement is based on the same number of games actually watched, a big fat ZERO. FFS Watch a game and then watch a few more then decide for yourself if you think A)PArdew is shyte and B) if we are improving or not. Art I apologise if you have watched some games this season and respect your opinion even If I dont agree with it. However its the criticism from quarters were it is clear they are judging based on a view from teletext that winds me up

I watched the game today and saw a really spirited display. We dominated the first half against a very good charlton side with arguably the best midfield quartet in this league. The side is really starting to gel and we played some really good footy. So what did you and saint stevo base your criticism on? how are you juging whether the team is progressing in the right direction? how did you jusde whether AP's tatical choices and substiutions were right or wrong and how did you come to you conclusions on what we should have done ? Was it listening to Dave Merringtons radio commentary? watching teletext? or reading a few posts during the game on here? maybe your thoughts and judgements would have slightly more credibility if you actually watched the team and not jusdged them third hand or based onabout 2 column incehed in the NOTW FFS
-
Makes me laugh the criticism from people who didnt even see the game.
-
Just out of interest, How do you know he only performs for the cameras? Surely based in NI you only ever see him on the TV unless of course you travel around and watch him at games when the TV isnt there.Just curious as to how you came to this conlcusion

I agree, if she ever wants some Jelly Jewellery then I can supply it!!

Defo a no from me. I will look forward to the scotland world cup song "Here we stay, Here we stay, Here we stay!"

God help us if he does play him wide when clearly (IMO of course) we have the slowest front line in the league. Do you not think some pace up front would encourage your typical CB to drop deeper as this is the only way to defend against true pace'? Lambert would then be playing further forward (another thing that he has been critised for). Not forgetting the additional space / time in midfield created allowing the genuine talent (lallana and morgan) to pick passes and dictate the play. I agree it would be great to have pace out wide but a winger getting to the byeline using blistering pace is easier to defend against and when they do get to the byeline to make the cross lambert and co will still be huffing and puffing to get into the box as they are pllaying to deep. The problem is you can only play Papa in one position and you have to maximise the impact on the rest of the team as well as what he can individually do. Lets face it he could have the touch of a rapist as far as we know but just the fact that he has pace means our game will change going forward dramatically. I appreciate with my glib comment that you may well smirk if he does play RM but I personally wont be smirking Ill be holding my head in my hands. Who knows maybe im talking ****** but thats my reasoning why he must play on the shoulder of the CB. Ronaldo is a great winger but Fergy more oftern than not played him up front, you have to ask why. Different player different talent I know but surely the same principles
-
Papa has been bought in to add some real pace to the front line No other reason. Lambert is great in the air has decent touch, leads the line well but runs like he is towing a caravan. Anyone who thinks he should play wide really doesnt understand much about footy, IMO
-
7 goals conceded makes us a top 6 defence. 3 of those at huddersfield with perry and thomas and now with Trotman and jaihidi (sp.) at the back things will get even tighter. the key now is goals. we have no pace up front. The opposition defence can push right up and squeeze the space in midfield. As i see it Papa and his pace will give defenders something to think about, they will need to play deeper and thus creating more space in midfield. Im hoping the extra space created will give the likes of lallana morgan and hammond who are generally composed on the ball the time to dictate the play. I was massively frustrated yesterday but I can see the bigger pictuer and the ship is turning.

Maybe when Papa scores, the whole northam end can chant "who's the Daddy!"

Personally looking at the entire squad we have a bloody good side. Shame we cant start the season again with this sqaud in place. Hey ho we are only 5 games in Interestingly they showed the new pompey side and the difference between that and the FA cup team. Only James remains, I really feel we would give them a damn good game. fingers crossed for a good FA cup draw (assuming we make the 3rd round) .

Am i the only one who noticed the ref played 4.5 mins injury time when the board held up by the arseisstant said 3?

This proposal is completely unworkable as it is open to abuse by rich owners. For instance Saints could offer a season ticket for the seat above the clock on the halfway line for £20million pounds per year. clearly if ML wanted to invest lots of money into the clubfor players he could buy that ticket for the said amount. The league wouldnt be able to impose a cap on season ticket prices without being open to price fixing rules. There could be loads of legal loopholes allowing rich owners toi pump money (revenue ) into a club it it wanted too. farfetched I kow but the prinicple is right that any revenue cap is open to abuse.
-
Rasiak not in the squad so I giess he is off then!
-
SO if we used your advice then we would need to wait about 5 years to meet the 10-15 game target.
