  1. So the sun does actually shine out of Gerrards @rse.
  2. Probably about 6 or 7 over 30 something years of Saints supporting, all are in the loft somewhere. I first saw Saints in '79 (against Vancouver Whitecaps) & my Uncle gave me his silk cup final scarf for the match, when I went to give it back, he said I could keep it, that in the loft as well. My current scarf is the JPT final one, and only gets worn when the weather dictates.
  3. Chuffed for the bloke, really well deserved. It's a bit of a double edged sword though, I fear the scribes are already preparing their criticism in the event he doesn't score or England play poorly (which is likely).
  4. Um, because he wanted a snake, if that's alright with you. It wasn't bought with the intention of teaching responsibility, he wanted one for his birthday, the responsibility comes as an added benefit. For your info (although I don't know why I bothering) but there's a bit more to it than you think - it gets fed & fully cleaned out weekly, water changed & sh!t checked daily & the vivariums temperature regularly monitored, especially during the hot weather. We have refused many requests from No.2 son for a dog for the simple reason it would be shut indoors for most of the day.
  5. Alps talking out of his @rse again, what a surprise. My son has a corn snake, it is neither venomous or a crusher. Whilst I personally can't see the fun in it, he is very attached to it & he has learnt valuable lessons in responsibility.
  6. No way, that's terrible news! British comedy won't be the same, alas. Rip
  7. Hadin gone
  8. Another one bites the dust.
  9. That guy had one hell of a life story. Rip Bert.
  10. Oh my god, that's tragic, really shocked to hear that, I had no idea he was ill. Rip
  11. 2006 I think.
  12. Good luck to Chappers, sad to see him go, I was a big fan of his during his first stint here, and was very pleased to see him return. A good man to have in any squad, always gave 100%.

  14. What a great weekend for British well done Andy Murray & The Lions.
  15. He used to play in goal. Could be good back up for his countryman, he could also try too keep him on the straight & narrow.
  16. You've just described me, except I don't think my wife had 'done' John Lewis.
  17. Is that Derek Burke? I used to play footy with him for Winsor back in the 90s, as you say, a top bloke (& another former Mayor managed us).
  18. I think they must be starting earlier than the usual day to day mid season training, I used to pass Jose Fonte at about 8.30 at Michelmersh, the last 3 days he's been going through Romsey at 8.00. Is MP getting an extra 30 minutes out of them?
  19. See my avatar. I was a young, aspiring keeper at the time, and to me he was a legend before he signed for us, then to have Shilts turning out in a Saints shirt (albeit a plain green one) elevated him to a near godlike status.
  20. My old Man nearly did, he was told he had to move out of the family centre, his ticket was bought seperately to ours & wasn't linked in with them. The guy who served him was particularly unhelpful & didn't want to know, when Pops threatened not to renew if he couldn't sit with me & his grand kids, someone else stepped in & linked his ticket to ours. I guess the guys who sit in front of us have had to move as the youngest is now 21, they've been sat there since the stadium opened, it's a shame because we have no way of contacting each other.
  21. I'm hoping the whole weekend will run like clockwork.
  22. We play Fulham on 26th October, sandwiched between The Boomtown Rats gig on the Friday & The Great South Run on the Sunday, all three events I wish to attend/participate in. Last season the match on the weekend of the GSR was put back to the Sunday, & being fat & slow I bailed out of the run to attend the match, as I wouldn't have got back for the kick off (I'm a STH & don't want to miss out on something I've paid for). What are the chances of this match being moved to either the Friday or Sunday, I can't see it being on Sky, as Chelsea are playing Man City that weekend, so are there any other factors that could cause this match to move?
  23. Don't have a problem with heights, but when you start hanging off of cranes like that......well, that's just mental. I was half expecting him to let go. Stunning view in the dawn sun though.
  24. Go for it, I know several who have emigrated in the last 5 years or so, to Canada, NZ & Oz, All have made a success of it & have no regrets. As someone else said this country is going to the dogs, get out whilst you can.
  25. Jordan's a good call, I remember a match at the Dell, he and Imre Varadi (I think) were running shoulder to shoulder next to the touch line, Joe gave him a little nudge & Varadi ended up in row A of the East Stand, and if you recall it was quite a drop from the pitch into the crowd. Jordan went over to take a look & ran off doing a clenched fist salute to his team mates and with a huge toothless grin across his face.
