I actually asked the club if I could take a different child other than the one named on the ticket (as it has my son's name on & I was taking my niece), the club told me that as long as she was within the same age group, there wasn't a problem. I have also got through the turnstile with my son's ticket, he wasn't able to go and I left mine at home rather than his . I realised about 10 yards before the turnstile and thought I'd chance it. I have to say in defence of the pretty steward womaning the gate, that I was on crutches at the time, so she may have thought I was using a disabled ticket when the concession lights illuminted.

As someone bought up on rock music & the post punk of Blondie/Jam etc & I've got to confess to having a soft spot for the Pet Shop Boys (but keep it secret). Recently though I bought a Dusty Springfield greatest hits compo, there is some great stuff on there.

Not strictly true, his birth date is not recorded, we do know that he was christened on 26th April & that back then, christenings took place quite soon after birth, so the 23rd is a reasonable guess & of course it makes a nice synergy with his death, but no one actually knows for sure.

When I was a young draughtsman, working in a structural engineers office about 25 or so years ago, the office sport was to swat wasps with scale rule (basically a 30cm ruler to the un-educated). If the wasp was only stunned, a drop of tippex thinners would be applied, it would cause to have some sort of reaction & would curl up & sting itself. The corpse would then be added to the others along the top of the sash window. After a few week though, the cleaner refused to clean near the windows, so after that we'd collect the remains in a milk bottle. We managed to get about a pint-and-a-half worth one year.

There's no any ambiguity with the definition of the word "entitled". As already stated, the monarch is the only person entitled to a state funeral, the others in the list were merely granted them. No matter which words & phrases you choose to embolden & despite what you may think, she is not, and has never been the monarch, therefore not entitled to a state funeral.

That' awfully big of her, when you consider that the only person actually entitled to a state funeral is the monarch.

Outline is an agreement in principle, full permission is what you get on a detailed submission. For example, you could be granted outline permission to build a 3-bed house with offroad parking on a plot of land you may own, you can then sell the land to a developer who would get full plans drawn-up, specifing the finishes, size, height, layout, parking arrangement etc, this is then submitted to the Local Authority for Full permission. You don't need to have Oultine before going for Full, but if there are contentious issues, you can 'test the water' by going for the cheaper Outline permission first.

Under the planning laws, three years is the maximum time period allowed in which to start work once full permission has been granted (interestingly, there is no time period in which work has to be completed). However, if Outline permission was granted, there is an additional two years in which can be used to tidy-up the reserved matters, giving a total of 5 years. This could have been the case for Reading. To answer the original question, there is no way that we could apply for planning tomorrow, and have the Stadium ready for the start of next season. There will need to be daetailed plans drawn up by an Architect, Structural Engineers, M & E Engineers, etc. Without speculating about the others, us Structral Engineers aren't the quickest off the blocks.

I played in goal from 8-35 years old. It was the part of the game that I enjoyed most, have lost a few teeth, got a few scars, shattered a knee, buy loved every (well most) challenge, but at 5'9" I had to compensate for by lack of aerial ability with something. I can confidently say that there is no way I'd have let Jay Rod get to that ball before me. I consider my self fairly sane.

Not had a pay rise for 4 years so with rising costs etc personally worse off, family wise, about the same as Mrs DG has almost doubled her working hours. Will be royally screwed in a couple of years time though as No.1 son will be on his way to uni.
