  1. 10/10 Can I stay?
  2. Another one who could clean the pipes.
  3. As a die hard Queen fan, there can be only one , One Vision.
  4. Two boys, youngest 12, eldest 16 tomorrow, and I remember everything about the birth. Some good times, some rough times & some great times. The good & great outweigh the bad. Very proud of both of them, neither has let me down in anything they've done. Bloody expenpsive though. If it wasn't for them I'd have had 16 foreign holiday since 1997. As for the Dad tips, read to them from birth, be strict on the bedtime routine & do as much as you can with them. It's an old saying but time really does fly once you become a parent & it's up to you to make the most of it before it's gone. I can't believe that in 9 months time I could legally be a grandad.
  5. I'm not in anyway condoning what Hazad did, but the ballboy was being a ****, he didn't deliberately kick him, he was clearly trying to get the ball. If I was the lads father, I'd have given Hazard a bollocking, and also told my son he deserved everything he got. Mind you he's got the makings of a promising footballer, he made a good job of play acting & hand waving, my lads get worse on the rugby pitch week after week & just get on with it. The red card & forthcoming 3 match ban is fair punishment.
  6. Thanks for all you've done Nigel, & good luck for the future. I can see this coming back to bite us on the arse. I'm off to build a snowman in the likeness of Cortese, then take my frustration out on it.
  7. f ucking mental, really p 1 ssed off about this.
  8. I'm turning veggie, will be steering clear of quarter pandas & jumbo sausages, although I've also herd a rumour that veggie burgers are made from uniquorn.
  9. Just to redress the balance slightly. A mate of mine was a Scouser, Liverpool fan through & through, except when he was with me at SMS. He was a top bloke, cracking sense of humour and never moaned about anything, and believe me he had plenty to moan about if he'd chosen too, he was at Hillsborough, something I didn't know until I bought it up around the 20th anniversary. He sadly died recently from a disease that left him wheelchair bound, breathing with a machine & unable to speak by himself, and not once in the 7 years, or so since his diagnosis did he complain, whinge or whine. Not you stereotypical scouser...well possibly, but I've met his brothers & mother on several occasions, all good people without chips on their shoulders.
  10. I was a day out Bazza, It was Thursdays downstairs from the Dog & Duck, I found this on facebook: So Fridays would have been just off London Road.
  11. I remember walking from infants school at the age age of 8 in 1976. My kids didn't walk home on their own until the age of 11 and that was purely down to road safety. We now live about 400 yd further on from where I did as a kid, and my kids went to the same schools as I did & had pretty much the same walk route. I (we) have never considered "stranger danger" to be a problem in Bitterne Park, but the roads are a nightmare now. The crossing patrols are sporadic & when there isn't one available you take your chances, there's no copper to man the crossings like there were in my day. Worst of all though is the number of parked cars, especially in the immediatte vicinity of the school. Young kids aren't the best at concentrating on passing traffic, especially if they're are in a group, it doesn't take much for them to fall into the road whilst larking about, but if the oncoming traffic can see them it makes a huge difference
  12. Have a few, Oasis at Knebworth in '96, probably more to do with the distance from the stage, rather than the band, but the sound was very poor & they were miles away. As a few others have said, Meatloaf at Broadlands, one of the artists I've always wanted to see live, but felt massively let down & thirdly The Lightening Seeds at the Guildhall 95 ish, just a general lack of atmosphere & interest from the band.
  13. The Juniper Berry is owned, and has been for about 8 years or so, by one of the famed McCarthy brothers (I'm sure many on here remember them working the doors in the 80s/90s). Until a couple of years ago it was called The Bosuns Locker, but Mike wanted to cash in on it's rep & returned to it's original name.
  14. I Saw Queen at Wembley in '86, they just blew me away. I've seen many different bands at venues ranging from Knebworth to The Brook & no one has come close, they were something very special.
  15. Fridays below it, don't remember one over the road though, unless you mean Raffles down East Street?
  16. Someone my son knows has had one done, she too is 16(I thought you had to be 18 ). She's had some inane quote scribbled across her belly, something about determination & going out & getting things done for youself, the irony is that she's the laziest person around, blowing her GCSEs last year because she thought she would breeze through them, prefering to get p*ssed & take up smoking during her study leave. . Never mind it will probably still look good when she's 25 & on her 4th pregnancy.
  17. Someone described him as a clown, I don't agree with that at all, clowns are supposedly funny, Boruc isn't, he worries tha crap out of me. Whilst KD may not be a prem keeper, he's more capable that Boruc. Aside from his dropped catches, his kicking was woeful, I can recall at least 4 times he kicked it to an Arsenal player, and a couple of times he shanked it into touch, if it had bee KD this place would've gone into meltdown. KD has been unfairly critised for his performance against Stoke, in the last 10 minutes of that match they played with 4 strickers, all of which are 6' plus & bombarded our box with high balls, yet Boruc struggled against 5'8" Walcott. Goalkeeper selection no longer comes under the heading of "who is our best keeper", but "who is going to do the least damage", and at the moment that has to be KD, Boruc may have been a decent keeper once, but he isn't anymore & Gazza isn't ready yet.
  18. This guy: http://www.sparkybailey.com/ has done loads for me in the last few years, reasonable rates, good sparky & good bloke. Some sparkies insist on doing the both 1st & 2nd fix to ramp up the hours, Pete is happy to let you do first fix & he will do the second if you want.
  19. Sad to hear that. Rip Sir.
  20. Sad news, I loved watching Thunderbirds as a kid & I was very pround of my Thunderbird 2 Dinky (or maybe matchbox) toy. FAB Mr Anderson. This was the same for me, at around about the same time, we decided to get Tracy Island for my son at christmas, but couldn't get hold of it anywhere, except for Toy's r us in Pompey, after a phone call I found they had 1 left & they kindly offered to put it aside for me for a couple of hours, not everyone from the dark side are scumbags .
  21. You may have been a tipsy old fart, but you're right, there's a lot more to Slade than Merry Xmas Everybody, (although their spelling leaves a bit to be desired).
  22. Personally, I'm not at all bothered about being fed information like this by the club. Aside from the obvious point of giving the opposition the heads-up, it makes no difference to me whether I know about the injury list or not. I can do nothing to influence the return of the players and it doesn't affect my day to day life if I know about Lallana's knee, Chapper's ankle or whether Boruc is suffering from a bout of flatulance or a dose of clap. We will find out either way on Saturday if our man is playing, if he isn't then so-be-it, if he is, then think of it as a christmas bonus.
  23. They some seriously f***ed up people with f***ed up views over there. But hey...it's their birth right.
  24. Could've been, but I don't remember it being contrived. My recolection is a 25yd rocket & wondering why he couldn't do it in a real match. I may have been drinking though.
  25. He also scored an absolute belter from outside of the box in a testimonial match (it may have been his own).
