  1. He couldnt turn the tide of our season... vote for Matt! He always managed it!
  2. Yes. But I fear it might now take a managerial change that deep down I dont want to see happen.
  3. I have always advocated a bust of MLT should be placed at the Players Entrance at SMS. It should have LOYALTY engraved on the base. Hopefully it would inspire the best to stay and build this club to realise NC's european and 50K stadium vision. Can't fault NC for that. Would love young talent to see the club recognise loyalty to the red and white shirt.
  4. If this is true I'm afraid it's the end for Nigel Adkins.
  5. I agree with that. I think he'll take QPR. At the end of the day - and I hate to say this - they have a better team and more chance of staying up than we do. Something for Arry to work with. Villa is too far for him IMHO. London club or south coast he'll want. Nope... QPR for me. Mark Hughes anyone?
  6. I guess there would be one upside to Arry taking the job, no one would accuse Cortese of selecting the team once Arry was in charge. I think Redknapp would keep us up this time, but then I think Nige can too, it's just that his team seems in utter disarray at the moment. It would certainly divide the fans, right up until the first win!
  7. I think he's about to be sacked. Gutted for him. Just a reminder Cortese... in football you only sack a manager when you have a better replacement ready to go.
  8. He couldnt stay, he'd undermined his authority, so we'd be in League 1 probably.
  9. Oh dear. Good but starting to sound a little desperate.
  10. We're going to get hammered. Oh well.
  11. I find myself violently agreeing with Profs last line.
  12. Positives? We have x3 teams below us who do not have the same potential we do. AND we have one or two above us in the same boat. That's quite positive.
  13. Yep. Not needed at Saints.
  14. NO............t yet
  15. We are disorganised. ...but phew.... Adkins survives another day.
  16. Bloody Hell!!! First we play a brilliant second half (always the most important half of a game!), then we sign an experienced - and high quality - keeper and all in 24 hours. Blimey, do you think NA and NC have been finally taking some advice from this message board!? What a signing, he'll be our first choice Premier League keeper almost immediately, not as NA has initially indicated number 3; he's at his peak in age and experience. I agree with some of the Celtic fans, he may just make the difference that keeps us up. Kelvin has never been a PL keeper. A great shot stopper and loyal Saint, he has never led his defence enough for me, he's almost too shy. It is the part of the game he fundamentally is weak in and in this league its punishable. I am hoping we now have a leader as well as a shot stopper at the back. This could turn out to be the best signing of the summer IMHO.
  17. Gordon would be a great addition. I'm sorry Kelvin, but he's better and has more potential.
  18. LOL! A clear nomination for Golden Post of the day!!!
  19. Here here...! (Especially with regards to the strip!) Bring back our stripes all is forgiven!
  20. We should have bought a defence and a goalkeeper with premier league potential - Kelvin should now be our reserve keeper. That said its also time for us all to wake up. This is not a cruise to Europe season as promised but a survival season. The yoyo strategy is rubbish - we will not necessarily return straight away. We used to be good at supporting our team as underdogs and supporting our manager and Board - before the Lowe years - its time to FIGHT. Its time for fans, players, manager and the Board to unite and FIGHT to stay in this league. WE ARE IN A RELEGATION BATTLE. Let's unite and fight.
  21. Davies please. And I don't mean Kelvin. I can't help but think we're putting Lallana in as Captain to keep him. Well we need to stay in the Premier League and we have a winning Rangers Captain in the ranks. Doesnt make sense.
  22. Pilchards, Harry is the only manager who can do it IMHO. And he's available. The situation this time is quite different. This time there's no Lowe, no Sir Clive, money to spend and potential new investors. Harry's local. He's the best English Premier League manager around and without a job. He's proven and has a right to wrong here that could drive him. But, would he want it? Any slight doubts and he should NOT be offered it. But, I still think Adkins can do it and we should stick with him for consistency, but if we want more Ramirez's, Arry's the man to attract them I'm afraid. What's more, I dont think there are as many anti-Harry Saints fans as the vocal minority may make out. If he delivers results all will be forgiven very quickly. I can't think of anyone else who may keep us up if Adkins is sacked. But, I hope Nigel isn't though!! CONSISTENCY AND A BUILDING A TEAM FROM THE BACK IS GOOD MANAGEMENT, get the second bit right and we stand a chance.
  23. Arsne Wenger: "The fact that we didn't absolutely have to dig deep is important." So they thrashed us without even trying. This is really bad. I can take heroic performances against Man Utd and City and can put Wigan down to experience and bad luck, but I am afraid we have invested badly over the summer and Derby may well be about to loose their record as the team with the lowest point score in the Premier League.
  24. oh ****. Harry Redknapp will be returning at this rate.
