  1. I wouldn't rush him back either, now we're out of the cups i doubt we'll rotate as much so he can get his sharpness back in u23s , then perhaps be an impact sub for the 1st team for last couple of months of the season.

    Next 5 Games

We generally don't do that well against lower clubs who sit back, and we've already lost to Cardiff and Fulham this season so they definitely owe us some points. We only won 2 home league games in whole of 2018 so might be a bit presumptuous to expect us to win 4 in first 2 months of 2019. After Fulham at home we have a tough run of fixtures through March so would be ideal to have points on the board already.
  3. I agree, Palace play the way that will test our weaknesses, hitting us on the break from our own corners with Zaha and Townsend, Win would be great, do the double over Palace and would leave us just a couple of wins from safety. U23 play Leeds tomorrow night, will be interesting to see if Bertrand features as part of his recovery, should give Gallagher a game to let him get 90 mins under his belt.
  4. Perhaps he's trying to force a move and is refusing to play, wouldn't surprise me. Although no idea who would want to buy him, had such a strange career with us, missed lots of games. Loads of tickets left for this game still, our shocking home form must put a lot of fans off fed up turning up time and time again for more disappointment (usually .made worse with false hope after weve taken the lead)
  5. Missing out on that has ruined the season for me, would have been a top notch away day but as usual our bunch of c*nts masquerading as a football team had to go and f*ck it up.
  6. Our home record over the last two years is disgusting, you could tell from the groans throwing away a 2 goal lead AGAIN last night we've been worn down , fans just dont expect us to win at home anymore. Saints 1-3 Everton
  7. Have looked at it as cheap option for hotels, although from memory of past visits not a great place for a night out. Handy for short few miles to Accrington. I get the discussion and frustration about kick off time but won't care as long as we beat Derby, this will have all the ingredients for a classic cup away day. Old school Uncovered away terrace behind goal, difficult to get to, tiny ground, perfect. Chatting to a mate who follows a league 2 club, said its a bleak place to visit this time of year, knowing our luck game would get postponed for a frozen pitch.
  8. Nice one, the pre match preview said a win would get us back to top of the table, albeit of the 2nd division but its a big improvement on last year especially considering how many of them have been involved with the first team.
  9. I agree, and as a fan base we've got used to cup runs with EFL final 2017, FA Cup semi final 2018, would be great to have another visit 2019. Still looks like a fairly small crowd expected, saw one comment from someone saying why bother when you can watch the match for free on BBC , I'm sure you can but you can't support the team from your sofa , hopefully the win at Leicester will encourage a few more to attend. Derby have sold just over 1000 so far. Fans often moan about being priced out of football so would expect more to take advantage of the low price.
  10. Sums up my thoughts, very weak line up and not surprising that it has come to this , injury prone Ings is just that, Will probably play 50% of our games whilst picking up a big wage. Hopefully by end of the month we'll have Bertrand, Cedric, Hoijberg, Ings, Lemina, perhaps Yoshida back in.
  11. 1 - i think we'll lose to Derby with our injuries and suspensions 2 - if we somehow get through i think the short notice and travel issues will mean it'll easily go to general sale Going by train would have to get 6am from Southampton central and hope Northern Rail strike doesnt cause too many problems
  12. Completely agree, hopefully we shift enough tickets to get towards a respectable crowd (15k +) . I really want to go to Accrington so please turn out and support the lads and help them get through. Need to sell the Itchen stand as thats the side shown most on TV.
  13. Bit odd putting a cup replay on BBC 1 in front of an empty St Marys. Probably be 10-11000 there assuming Derby won't bring many.
  14. Would blo0dy love it to get a trip up there, so rare we get to visit a new ground in the cup, especially with a terrace behind the goal, no doubt we'll lose the replay to Derby now. If we get through loads will go to Accrington even if televised.
  15. We definitely miss leaders out on the pitch, need Hoijberg and Romeu to step up and fill that roll. Move makes sense for both clubs, hope he gets to win the league with Rangers this season.
  16. Will be interesting to see if these injury problems speed up fhe transfer dealings, or even mean Gabbiadini has to come back into the side.
  17. Next weekend i can see Burnley winning at home to Fulham and Cardiff winning at home to Huddersfield, if we lose as expected at Leicester its going to be looking bad for the bottom 3. Newcastle are away to Chelsea so hopefully we will still be close to them. Leicester have already beaten us at St Marys and our record at the King power stadium is awful , we've got to be due a bit of luck there.
  18. That's surprising given its only £12 a ticket against an attractive big team from the Premier League, weve virtually sold out 3100 so song sheets for the game; Weve got more fans than you Angus Gunn do do do do do do Whats it like to see a crowd Angus Gunn do do do do do do You're support is f8cking shlt Angus Gunn do do do do do do Road to Wembley starts here
  19. He played well in the clean sheet up at Leicester in the cup when they played a strong forward line, he's definitely had a big learning curve as the u23 and youth cup games I've seen him in are played at a much slower pace. In some ways being involved in loads of games in quick succession is better than being drip fed appearances , he'll learn much quicker this way and I'd play him in the cup at Derby this weekend again. Still to early to be our first choice right back so i wouldn't be keen to sell Cedric.
  20. This game feels like a waste of time really, strong Chelsea side will pick apart our error prone defence , especially when we're playing under 18s and players out of position. The honeymoon period is over for Hassenhuttl, will be interesting to see who comes in if we offload Gabbiadini and Cedric early in the window
  21. 100% defeat but i think will be by 3 or 4 goals, our defence and keeper will be a dream for City to play against. Will be an opportunity for Ralph to learn a bit more to help plan for the future.

    Absence of Cedric

Completely agree, crazy to be playing Valery if Cedric was available, saints media team have started going on about Southampton Way, giving youth a chance, but Valery just isn't at the level required yet. I'd like to see this team with Bertrand and Cedric back in.

    Danny Ings

Wasn't it done this way as we couldn't afford him with FFP restrictions? 6 goals is a good start considering all the games he's missed. If he could stay fit I think he'd have a decent chance of an England call up.
  24. 114 tickets still on sale out of our 1566 allocation, should get close to selling out after today's result. Massive game, especially having gifted 3 points to Fulham and Cardiff recently.
  25. Ings is proving to be the injury liability many of us expected he would be unfortunately. How many games has he already missed this season with his blister and now hamstring?
