    Non-Saints Games

Can never understand statements like this, if you don't support either team why would you do that? Can't stand Spurs or Liverpool, seeing them succeed gives me no enjoyment.
  2. Good shout, i had been told Thursday but there’s still no confirmation online so doesn’t look like the game will be happening tomorrow. Seems a bit odd. Perhaps Newcastle requested an alternative date
  3. There's already been 5 academy grad debuts this season when they're ready / needed, would much rather that then just a token appearance last game of the season just for the sake of it. Ralph's shown he'll reward players for doing well at u23 level, but those lads should be focused on winning promotion in the play off final at St Mary's Thursday night. Still loads of tickets left for this due to Huddersfield sending most of their allocation back, apparently Saints were selling cheap ones at Solent uni yesterday trying to boost the numbers.
  4. Very predictable result / performance, Ralph giving players half the week off, celebrating survival last week, then throwing out a side full of players who have proven they're not up to it. Took the plss out of the fans but assume he was trying to prove a point. Surely no one will bother buying a ticket for the Cat A top price Huddersfield game next week, waste of time based on todays evidence.
  5. Logistically the organisation looks odd to me. Austria makes sense for a fitness camp and a game, quick trip to Macau for a game makes no sense other than a sponsorship obligation especially when it overlaps with a separate short trip to Dublin.
  6. To be honest i hate the games against top 6 clubs where you get tons of day trippers at St Mary's, so might as well charge them a fortune and reward fans who turn up for mess popular games like Burnley etc with cheaper tickets. Adult £20 price for C games should be applauded, just hope we have at least 5 games categorised as C. The "premium " - £65 seats. To be honest there are very few of those sold on a match by match basis, those areas are heavily dominated by season ticket holders.

    James Ward-Prowse

Would be a shame to sell him, academy product England international who has been a regular for 7 years in the Premier League, still young enough to improve, this generations Nick Holmes. Hope he spends a few more years at St Mary’s and gets a prestigious game for his testimonial, 32000 fans singing James Ward-Prowse my lord for 90 minutes would be a special moment
  8. 3-1 defeat, will be almost identical to the Newcastle away game. Ralph has given the squad a few days off, we'll be on the beach.
  9. I'd have thought sales will be up with the prospect of a season under Ralph a better offering than last year under Hughes. Plus family centre will sell out with the £19 u11 season ticket, plenty will get those and miss a few as doesnt matter at that price. Will be interesting to see how many buy the new £399 season tickets in a traditionally unpopular part of the ground.
  10. Wolves 2-0 down away to Man Utd with 10 mins to go, then turning it around to win 3-2 seems a bit fishy. Doubt I'll bother going on Monday now with auto promotion no longer available , still getting over the heartbreak of recent semi final defeats to Dinamo Zagreb and Basingstoke Town.
  11. When it is greyed out just means that block is sold out. And to previous post away fans are not subsidised by Virgin anymore so they pay £30 same as we do at all away games. Pricing Bournemouth and Huddersfield the same as a top 6 game makes no sense as none of the premier league glory fans are going to turn up for these games , and with Saints being safe there's no important significance. Not a proper local derby.
  12. Thats behind the goal price for A game. Same again for Huddersfield which is also stupidly A game prices, no way that will sell out with Huddersfield sending loads of tickets back
  13. Last 4 of the Champions league could feature 9 ex-saints either playing or on the bench Liverpool- Lovren, VVD, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Mane Spurs - Alderweireld , Wanyama, Gazzaniga Ajax - Tadic Not sure if winning the champions league would trigger any payment add ons
  14. Been closed for ages now, doubt it will ever reopen. Real shame, just needs someone with a bit of vision to get it going, bring back the topless barmaids upstairs. Building the ground in St Mary’s was supposed to help regeneration of a rough part of town but it just seems to have got worse. Plenty of pubs within a mile of the ground now closed, used to like the Eagle and Royal Oak.
  15. Last minute winner to stay up against Huddersfield followed by a pitch invasion would be good to get our monies worth. In all seriousness i think Ralph and to some extent have thrived under pressure, a Cardiff win tonight keeps us pushing on and hopefully up a few places in the table.
  16. 100% Cardiff win tonight just to make it interesting and keep Brighton below us.
  17. Agree, and Ralph has already been giving plenty of game time to those u23s who he thinks are good enough. No need to throw more in for the sake of it. Push for as many points as possible, could make a big difference and would help us go into the summer on a high.
  18. Can someone add the run in fixtures for championship promotion race so we can discuss who we'll be playing next season, looks like Norwich are up, i hope they'll be joined by Sheffield United (with Billy Sharp and David McGoaldrought up front) and Bristol City from the play offs, couple of decent away days there.

    Krueger departs

We never did get to find out what his 5 pledges were.
  20. Another appalling waste of money unfortunately to add to the list. Showed some promise but has contributed nowhere near enough.
  21. The whole episode has been dodgy, the premier league tried to block the take over initially and clearly are not comfortable with our ownership structure. Shify Gao cracks me up, remember the story of his daughter Nelly building a great friendship with Kat. Just hope that the Chinese president who loves Premier league football insists on investment in the club to bring pride to China.
  22. Ref terrible, made several decisions that didn't make sense, especially the sending off which changed the game. Zagreb were technically a very good side, you could tell they play together as a settled team whereas our u23 have done remarkably well this season considering we've hardly ever put out the same starting XI. Most of our lot have been promoted into the side as Ralph has included more u23 into his first team squad since Christmas, the likes of Valery, Ramsay Slattery, Sims, Obafemi, Gallagher hardly ever feature for the u23s anymore. We still top the table in PL2 league, 2 points clear with two games to play so hopefully can finish the season strongly and the lads get a trophy. One thing made me laugh last night, classic Saints get a crowd of 3,605 to watch u23 game but hardly had anyone serving on the kiosk with 20 min queue at HT and selling out of hot food.
  23. It looks to me like the Kingsland / Chapel corner is cheap area for those with kids, the Itchen / Chapel corner is cheap area for those without kids. Makes sense to offer a less popular part of the ground as affordable season tickets, £21 per game in modern premier league era is very good. If you go with kids the family area is still good as kids so cheap, but seems odd the adult tickets in that area are now a lot more than equivalent seat opposite and even cost more than behind the goals
  24. I'm fairly sure that this time last year we had the same number of points as Cardiff have now, and managed to pick up 8 points in our last 5 games. Still wouldn't surprise me if we need something in the last game v Huddersfield to stay up. On a separate subject this season must be a record for the fewest times our games have been televised, combined with a low league placing that will limit our income from this season (and no trip to Wembley like 2017 and 2018) Newcastle away will be our only televised away game all season.
  25. I agree they think they get goodwill by offering the occasional free ice cream or flag but what would really be appreciated is a drop in price for renewals. Things have picked up at st Mary's under Ralph but for the 2 years before that our home record must have been the wlrst in the country. At a time when away tickets are easy to get hold of i don't think there is much incentive to buy a season ticket, especially for a fan who will miss 2 or 3 games a year through other commitments. I'm not tech savvy enough but plenty of people seem to find streams to watch for free now as well so the club need to entice those fans back. Will we have a new sponsor next season? Extra revenue from a chinese betting firm could cover a drop in season ticket prices.
