  1. I actually think future generations of Saints fans will look back on this era as a golden period for following the club, we’ve had finishes of 6th and 7th with European tours, visits to Wembley in EFL and FA cup , star players (who admittedly moved on at first opportunity)
  2. Clearly clearly clearly he was Pellegrino’s man, he said himself when he signed he loved playing for him when they were together in Argentina, he even praised Pellegrino at every opportunity- https://www.google.co.uk/amp/readsouthampton.com/2018/03/09/carrillo-pellegrino-master/%3famp=1 Just take a step back for a minute to consider how much of a f*ck up January was: We sold most expensive defender in the world to Liverpool We didn’t sack Pellegrino We used some of the money to well over spend on Pellegrino’s mate A month later and we sack Pellegrino Unbelievable Jeff.
  3. We are according to the article , 3000 at Everton (no way will we sell all those unless we win a couple of games between now and then) and 2000 at Swansea. Can imagine a few fans will buy for a tenner and bin the tickets if we’re already down.
  4. It was a much better performance, and as has been said many times as long as the players are giving their all that’s all we can ask. Improvement on dismal displays at Newcastle and West Ham but we’ve lost the ability to defend and with Chelsea x 2 and Leicester coming up I think that is going to cost us against teams who are capable of attacking with pace. I thought Shane Long was excellent, gave everything, worth keeping for the Championship I think. Hope Wilshere’s injury troubles return and that shlt has a lengthy spell on the sidelines again, don’t blame Stephens for his reaction.
  5. Pulling a shirt? If that happened on a street he’d be done for attempted rape , he was ripping his top off hardly a gentle shirt pull
  6. We’ll have a lot drinking near Wembley, mainly as so many are going by coach dropped off at the ground they’ll need something nearby (and the official coaches leaving St Mary’s at 8 should be at Wembley by 10am even with a refreshments stop at Fleet. Chelsea fans on the other hand will be coming by public transport so a lot of them will drink in London before jumping on the tube, especially around Baker St.
  7. Gone full circle, reminds me of our first trip to the Emirates in September 2012 , 6-1 defeat I think Yoshida came on to make his debut, we were all over the place. Danny Fox was our goal scorer that day!
  8. Whilst we’re on the subject I wonder if Virgin Media will keep subsidising away fans that visit St Mary’s even in the Championship? And didn’t they say there’d be another game subsidised for us still this season?
  9. Unfortunately not, don’t know full details but a Reading fan I know has moaned about £42 at Leeds and £30-£35 is common especially places that stick you on the side like Villa, Ipswich, Norwich. I’m sure I’ve read Sheffield Wednesday charge £39 for some clubs https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesday-blasted-by-bristol-city-fans-over-opening-day-ticket-prices-1-7374958/amp
  10. It’s a positive that we won’t have to play against the shlts next season. Raheem Sterling coming on to boos and chants of “there’s only one greedy bastard” by the Liverpool fans were a bit ironic I thought.
  11. I think we’ll be down by then. Everton also chosen for tv on Saturday 5th May 5.30 kick off
  12. Compared to how simplified Chelsea’s is ours just looks ridiculous. Not sure how to post a screenshot but here is the link , all sorted in a couple of days , I notice their allocation is about 500 more than ours. We don’t even have that many members they only need a one day sales window . http://www.chelseafc.com/tickets-membership/tickets-home.html#match=none
  13. I fancy Huddersfield to beat both Watford and Everton at home , definitely a kinder run in than what we have. We are down.
  14. Agree if you think St Mary’s is toxic you’ve not been to anywhere that truly is, our fans are far too soft / nice and have given the board an easy ride so far. In regards to the women’s international, clearly will be an awful game with embarrassing goal keeping but each to their own, they’ve given away loads of tickets to try to boost the crowd to create a sense of occasion, Itchen is sold out, think the only stand they haven’t opened is the Chapel. I have a feeling Saints will point to a big crowd in support of our application to enter a women’s team to the championship
  15. Clearly if you move away from Southampton you continue to support saints, and want your kids to support the same team as you, in my experience often the biggest Saints fans i know don’t live in the city. Back on topic anyone who wants to encourage their grandchildren to support a “big” club needs to take a long hard look at themselves, or do us all a favour and take their crying off spring down to St Mary’s a few hours before kick off and explain to the players how much damage they are doing, might inspire them
  16. You could have multiple sales windows on the same day, it’s pretty easy, just get on and sell them. Like Wigan we faffed around selling them with some fans only qualifying to buy a few days before. I know some season ticket holders who haven’t bought yet as waiting to purchase with mates who are non members but have to wait another 2 weeks. Our ticket office has always been run like an amateur set up.
  17. I’ve watched plenty of football this weekend and without doubt if any team has a look of “given up” it’s us. Palace played well for most of their game with Liverpool, surprisingly there is a sign of some fight still in Stoke, it’s the pathetic bunch of ****s masquerading as a football team in the red and white of Southampton F.C. who are putting in zero effort and stealing a living. I don’t think I’ve ever disliked our players this much , would like to see the fans really turn on them and let them know what we think of their half hearted efforts. I think the rot has set in as we’ve had successive captains who’ve done nothing but try to manoeuvre moves away from the club.
  18. You can only truly appreciate the highs once you haves lived through the lows. Remember that last min semi final winner at Anfield, that win over Inter Milan at St Mary’s, winning at Old Trafford two years in a row, so many top moments in the last 7 years that some clubs lower than us will never experience. A mate of mine is trying to get his kids to follow him in following Swindon Town, imagine that. Should be proud to follow your club than some plastic soft kid in the play ground who will never see the inside of Old Trafford but try to claim some glory knowing it’s a hollow victory with no soul having followed them purely as a glory hunter.
  19. I’m in the same boat, only Burton not done gutted they are going down, Shrewsbury and Rotherham being in play offs gives me hope of a trip to a new one. I never really enjoy going to Reading to be honest, another team that have tried to manufacture a rivalry over the years. Have enjoyed both past trips to Wigan so that could be decent, seems ages since we last played at Blackburn as well. Matt Targett, Harry Reed and Sam Gallagher can help brief the rest of the squad on what to expect.
  20. For me I always enjoy a trip to Brentford so playing them again while they are at Griffin park will be good, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday good ones as well. Shame it looks like Burton are going down would like to go there, also looks like Shrewsbury may miss out on automatic promotion so hope they are successful in play offs as another new ground.
  21. I agree, it reads like an open invite to anyone to buy a membership and a semi final ticket even if you’ve never been to a saints game before , I’m sure a few Chelsea fans won’t mind mind spending the £25 extra to get a ticket. Hopefully saints will clarify that you must have a customer number registered before the cup draw to be allowed to buy a membership and ticket.
  22. I disagree, Premier league away ends used to sell out on a regular basis at £50 a go (or £64 for cat a games at Arsenal) but pressure brought by the FSF Twenties Plenty campaign brought change and a cap to £30 so it can work without the need to boycott. In this case it looks like sales are quite low so far so I think we might struggle to sell out.
  23. Chill out, there’s only another 30 odd thousand to choose from, from memory there weren’t many on that side as the blocks behind the dugout are corporate, I’m sure all season ticket holders will be able to buy seats fairly close to where they want to be, it’s the members and non members who’ll end up in the cheap seats at the back of the upper tier. I still can’t believe how steep kids tickets are for this, scandalous.
  24. I’d leave it and try again in an hour, won’t be that many seats sold today as there will be plenty of qualifying season ticket holders who will wait to buy with family and friends who don’t qualify yet. Not many tickets in most expensive category so expect they’ll sell out first.
  25. I get the impression from Saints official travel announcement that they’d rather fans get the coach from Eastleigh or Winchester due to trying to avoid the Southampton Marathon road closures, if they do leave Southampton by 8am they’ll be in London in plenty of time for the pubs opening, would imagine this will encourage more to go by train though than faff around at that time of the morning on bingo bus. https://southamptonfc.com/news/2018-03-26/official-coach-travel-fa-cup-semi-final-southampton-chelsea Apparently the saints away unofficial travel are doing pick ups elsewhere in the city like Millbrook and Shirley high st, seems a good idea as plenty of fans live closer to there than St Mary’s . http://southamptonawaytravel.co.uk/cup-fixtures/fa-cup/fa-cup-semi-final/
