Compare this to the Cardiff defence who on occasion were throwing bodies into some last ditch tackles and blocks. Similar but to a lesser extent to Ipswich a couple of weeks ago. Cardiff’s GK also made a crucial save at 1-0 down. That’s not something we’ve been able to boast about much this season either.

Plenty of others will though. He certainly won’t want another season in the Championship with us.
-
Yesterday was a strange one again. Unbelievable from being in complete control, but at the same time all too predictable.
-
I think yes, the pundits, FA, and Premier League are detached and actually believe fans only want the shit they serve up focussing on the big six etc. Whilst we want promotion to see Saints play at the highest level they can, it’s nice to be removed from the media circus, and put it on “ignore”.
-
If we were looking to help AFCB shift players then Kieffer Moore might have made more sense.
-
I like Brooks for his flair etc, and was pleased we brought him in. I think it was at a time Fraser was injured. But that Brooks fiasco yesterday was pathetic. Gets worse from every angle you see it. Wonder what happened to the player who controlled Bournemouth’s cup tie v Swansea ? Has clearly been reduced to the standard of the rest wanting to take too many touches.

Would prefer WBA in the semis, then possibly Ipswich or Norwich in the final (I think Norwich may win that). But I fear we’ll beat Leeds in May keeping them down, only to lose to them at Wembley. We don’t fall foul of fuck-ups at Saints we breed our own.

But we were brave every time and RM was proud of the guys …
-
How many times this season could you have posted that ?
-
Might have to exhume him first. Unless you mean the one that played for us in the 1990's.
-
You don't have to attend, but as Bob60 says this is a lifeline to smaller clubs. I remember Exeter saying their ties and replays against Man Utd one year kept them going for a couple of seasons.
-
‘Cos you need a dependable keeper on the bench just in case. ( Lego’s logic.)
-
Worrying times. 3pts for ineligible player not in squad. Plus another 3 when they realise Brooks is cup tied.
-
Leicester, Leeds and Ipswich would be a fucking sight funnier than fuck though. (funnier as fuck to the nth factorial springs to mind).
-
Great respect for Alonso rejecting the Liverpool approach as well. Can’t believe he will miss out on those special European nights there.
-
Were we ever linked with him ? Other than someone on here perhaps just posting his name . The last ‘big’ European name I recall was Tuchel after Puel.
-
Wasn’t that when he might have been available for £2m from Exeter ?
-
…. from Bournemouth. Just to cut down on expenses.

As said on an earlier thread, I don’t think RM can be criticised for publicly supporting his players (incl Bazunu at the start of the season). I was a bit surprised he publicly criticised him after the Ipswich game. Whether he privately and firmly believes that guff though is a different matter, he can’t’ - or at least shouldn’t - be blind to the GK’s failings. You’d hope the role of scouts is to look at improving all positions (not just GK).
-
For a club that used to pride itself on its Academy and young talent we seem to have a blind spot in bringing through GK’s. The last one I recall making an impact and looking like a prospect was Gerry Gurr. In about 1969.
-
Most fans see it, but not it seems RM or those responsible for recruitment. But in RM’s defence he has pretty limited options to choose from.
-
With a fully striped back as well I hope.

Is this one of the fabled Saintsweb traditions of a players ability and worth improving by the week when unavailable or not selected? From the times I’ve seen him, he’s looked distinctly average at best. Always seemed caught in the paradox of needing minutes on the pitch to develop, but having not really done enough to justify selection.
-
Does the capacity remain the same once safe standing is introduced? It was always said at The Dell that seats took up more space than that needed to stand in. Does the reverse apply ?
-
I don’t remember which manager it was who said it, but I recall one saying that regular games and fixture pile up aren’t a problem when you’re winning as players can’t wait to get back on the pitch. Different story when you’re not winning.
